Hello, my Leica M3 (1961) is always working perfectly… more than 60 years after its production ! I’ll never sell it. Thanks to yours engineers. Thanks from France. Bonjour, mon Leica M3 de 1961 fonctionne toujours à merveille… depuis plus de 60 ans ! Je ne le vendrai jamais. Merci à tous les ingénieurs de Leica.
Another great milestone within the Leica M product evolution . A very professional product introduction presentation. Congratulations to the Leica team.
As a Leica shooter, I really appreciate the developments featured in the new M11. I love shooting through the rangefinder window and engaging with my work by using the camera manually, but I also appreciate the image making technology that uncompromisingly focuses on quality over quantity. Nice job on the video as well--looks like Leica took some cues from Apple...both with the tech integration and the video direction/production. As a user of both systems, I'm happy to see the cooperation.
It is nice to know that there are artists out there who will make the price of this camera back with their first frame. But it's just as nice to know that people not making a dime with photography still carry this company just for the love of it. ❤️
forget the m11, I spent the ENTIRE KEYNOTE wondering what EXACT setup was used to capture THIS VIDEO and WHO color graded this project😭. I NEED answers… NOW😂
A very nicely done presentation that really reflects the ethos of Leica. In the digital age, the M11 seems to be the M camera body that, in technology, truly joins other contemporary digital cameras whilst remaining true to the M heritage.
Finally, a camera every lawyer and dentist can take to the golf course in order to forget it in the glove box of their 911 for half a year! Seriously though, Leica has moved away from their roots and thus their heritage with this further than ever. I wouldn’t imagine that many pros choose the M11 over an R5, Z7 or similar. That’s mostly because photojournalism, the Leica M‘s original stomping ground, demands much more versatile and capable cameras these days. What remains is a niche market that possibly only consists of those that mostly don’t even have to ask how much this is. Which I find odd for a medium as democratic as photography.
@@sophrapsune If I’d compare the M11 to the dentists 911 mentioned above, that’s a somewhat expensive premium product, too. But it has got the features to back that up and I’d be happy to throw money at Porsche. Whereas the M11 doesn’t and I wouldn’t.
@@sophrapsune It is undeniably expensive, especially given the feature set. Which might be the wrong way to look at Leicas altogether, but that’s mostly a philosophical question. I use Hasselblad and Nikon Z professionally for my fashion work, but whenever I go out for some personal shooting, it’s always my M camera. The sheer joy of creating images is incomparable. Every now and then I use the M also for assigned work. It puts a smile on the face of the creative director of one of the fashion magazines I work for.
you made me dreaming of the latest digital version of my dads IIIf which looks like it came out of the shop yesterday.... and in the meantime I am still enjoying the photos from my X1
I think it is really interesting how one of the few companies in the world clinging on a concept nearly a century old is still one that brings innovations before the "big players" like Sony, Canon and Nikon. All while putting it into a product that represents the old way of doing it like no other. Also: similar to the Zeiss ZX1 but done right.
@@Magneira I have both the X-Pro and the M10-R and though I have great respect for Fujifilm, it doesn’t reach the quality and feel of a Leica. The X-Pro’s are by the way not rangefinder cameras.
@@jacobh5817 They sure are not rangefinders, they are electronic rangefinders. Also what quality are you talking about? Can you measure that feel of yours? Also, where does this comparison about which is better came from? We where talking about innovation my friend.
Dear friends from Leica you have created an amazing camera the M11 , but please don´t forget that you have another jewell that needs to be polished the new CL digital. Some of us do prefer this little cam for every day use. It will be a big disappoint for most of us if you don´t bring us a new CL successor and some apsc new lenses. Please give us a sing that this line isn´t dead. Thank you very much.
I'm keeping my M10-R Black Paint even if someday I get an M11 (or later model). Why? Because in my view, it's the last of the film inspired digital M's (removable baseplate). Probably a minor issue in the grand scheme of things, but does make me want to hold on to the camera nevertheless. And, Leica may be moving away from brass bodies, which is a shame.
Dear colleagues, after 1 year of shooting in the clean condition the camera doesnot work - live view is blocked and autoexposure doesnot work. Could you please comment on this? I saw many comments on this. Moreover the support does not goes with the comments to me. Should I use leica m11 only in manual exposure regime?
why the chairman have to look at screenplay to read? He couldnt speech without them? 1:04 the B-roll show the cameraman with camera and gimbal at the mirror? :(
My Q2Mono is my favourite shooter ever. I have an SL2 and a CL, as well as a Sony a1, a7R3, a9. It's a sickness, I know. However, fun to shoot, enjoyment of function and results, it's the Q2M. This... this might be the M for me.
I will wait for seven years to get this great tool. Till then I am absolutely happy using my M8, M9-P and SL Typ 601 with a wide range of Nikon, Zeiss and Leitz lenses. The M11 is just a great future proof instrument for the next centuries.
Tolle Evolution!
Another great digital M, which is fortunately still an M. But I miss the bottom plate - a very personal opinion. No claim to be right. And please - if itˋs possible. I am looking forward to another D-version, with the „film advance leaver“ and NO display. I am redy to buy it. Thank you so much Dr. Kaufmann
Are all Wild West movies then also cheap John Wayne copies? I don't see any connection to Apple. Everything at Apple is scripted, cast and fake. In addition, I don't think Leica spent 250 K on this production. At Leica, it's just the real people without 4 weeks of coaching on how to move and speak. I will not buy a M11 or other leica camera, but I personally find the production authentic and very successful.
@@carlosmcse it's like the move to aluminium on the black model - it's saves them a little cash but it isn't in the spirit of the M cameras. Removing the baseplate hasn't even allowed quick release for tripods as these will still cover the battery.
On purpose obviously, but not the same budget, script, cinematography. 3D models are great ! But Stefan reads his notes, you will never see that with Apple. Anyway I don’t care, It was great :)

Excellent video. I now have a much better appreciation of why the Leica range of cameras are so expensive compared to other brands.
They are decent cameras, that's why. My dad had one back in the eighties. Pretty tough as well.
