I've been playing since 1966 and it still surprises me when I hear songs like this one that they're so simple yet brilliant. How many songs are built around D, A, G with the old reliable Bm to take us somewhere that we weren't expecting. When I was a kid my peers and I learned the open chords first because they were easy thinking that barre chords were the ones that the "big boys" played but open chords couldn't be as important because they were too easy....DOH
I just wanted to tell you George at my gig yesterday in Raleigh I was doing all request Saturday and was asked to " Play some Fleetwood Mac" so I started off with Landslide and then after working with you here on this video I did my best ever version of Go Your Own Way, what really helped keep me in the pocket was the part over the A (capo 2nd fret with an un-capo'd low E string) when you show us how to play the chord by "chopping it". Thank you good lesson bro. Because I'll tell ya, some of the guys who give lessons on YT can drive you insane: "First, you play a G chord - you put your ring finger on the ...AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! " STFU click!
Great lesson of a song from an icon group. Sadly this year, 2022, we lost Christine McVie, an amazing song writer an performer. Rest in Peace, Christy, you will be greatly missed!!
He lowered his voice an octave. It’s beyond the average person’s range to take it up an octave like it is on the record. Even Lindsey plays it without a capo in live shows.
Again another super tutorial, I like your style of teaching, straight to the point, no useless talking and repetitions, thank you from Heidelberg, Germany
Excellent ... and your voice suits it well ... I just heard Sheryl Crow doing on youtube here and I like your voice better .. and singing is not even your deal ! Smooth lessons ! Many Thanks !
If you notice ,Lyndsey Buckinghams Guitar especially at the beginning where you palm mute ,is playing following Mick fleet woods drumming if you see what I mean The choppy strumming mimics Micks percussion Very effective
Found it after seven years, during these horrible 2020 covid days. Almost forgot how beauty this song is. Thank you, Sir. Seven years passed, hope you doing well.
+KyleCarrington Well put! He's great if you're an intermediate guitar player - he doesn't go through all the boring crap of how to do a simple A chord.
Love your videos !! Try this one with capo up two more frets using 'C shape' for "How could I" then G shape, then F shape (thumb over), hammering on with middle finger etc., then the A minor shape for "You can go your own way", F then G etc..
What really comes across in this video is how much, like me, you love this song. You absolutely do it justice, thank you for taking the time. Only wish you'd played the whole song at the end!
Very nice lesson. In the recorded version, for the capo-ed guitar, there are very prominent hammer-ons during the verses on the D and G shapes. When on D it sounds like fretting off and on the 2nd fret on high e string. When on the G it sounds good fretting on and off first fret of the b string.
thxs a lot Georgiarose ....... sounds great ........ and even for me aible to ^play .; the way you teaching ....... awsome ........ and a nice voice ...
This is a fantastic tutorial for a great song. Well done explaining the progressions and techniques. I will look for more of your lessons in the future. Oh yeah, and your voice is perfect for it.
Hey guy. Thx for your tutorial. It sounds really better then other I found on youtube. I gonna play with the mind to cover it..... in a faster version. And your tuned version sound more powerful. So, thx again and all good luck for the future
George , you may say your voice isn't good enough? You have almost perfect pitch, man, you sound Awesome, singing this!... I never thought I'd learn and play this song, but now I'm gonna work on it right away!
Awesome! Thanks for the tutorial. I'm glad u didn't let your earlier version put u off (which I haven't seen), because this version is great! p.s. your voice is pretty good!
Me too, good job Pete, interesting, is it me or did Fleetwood Mac have a pattern of ther guitar playing of their songs, as Tusk which u covered Pete also had palm muting or similar if I recall., anyway well done.
Best simplified tutorial for this song. We need you back, brother.

A lot of peoples can play guitar very well but it doesn’t necessarily make them a good teacher. Thank you for all those great videos

Damn real...
Sooo, did you see any ads on this lesson? Yet you were here enjoying it!
Could do with you back on the tube

Cannot believe you didn’t think you could hit those high notes! You are wonderfully talented and I learn a lot from you, thank you so much!
He lowered his voice an octave. It’s beyond the average person’s range to take it up an octave like it is on the record. Even Lindsey plays it without a capo in live shows.
@@PrecursorLegend well that’s because he plays the electric track which I don’t think has a capo. In the 70s he used to do the high vocal part
this guy is good, and i mean good....singing and playing and the way he show how to play
I was thinking the same thing,
Excellent lesson. Terrific playing and singing.
Again another super tutorial, I like your style of teaching, straight to the point, no useless talking and repetitions, thank you from Heidelberg, Germany
FINALLY! Someone who knows how to play this AND teach it. Thank you.
Excellent ... and your voice suits it well ... I just heard Sheryl Crow doing on youtube here and I like your voice better .. and singing is not even your deal ! Smooth lessons ! Many Thanks !

The choppy strumming mimics Micks percussion
Very effective
that's what makes it harder to play compared to most songs. but this video is helpful
This song suits your voice very well. Thanks for showing it.
Excellent lesson. I had always thought it was a hard song to play since it was Lindsey playing because he's fantastic.
Your guitar sounds like heaven and this tutorial is fantastic. I only missed you singing all the song from beginning to end. Thanks for sharing.
Ditto -- wished for end to have you perform the tune all the way through.
Found it after seven years, during these horrible 2020 covid days. Almost forgot how beauty this song is. Thank you, Sir. Seven years passed, hope you doing well.
