theoretically using this as a pass through for a raspberry pi dock on a cfw ps vita would allow for audio out more seamlessly via aux instead of having to connect and disconnect from bluetooth every time so this is actually possible and the dock would serve a great purpose since it would eliminate the inconvenience of having to bluetooth pair every time you dock for audio
You can very easly 3D print one of those :-), there are free 3d models on the internet and they use a Vita cable (you can find them on AliExpress for a dollar or two). Yes, the 3d printed ones don't look and feel quite as nice, but hey, those are almost free if you or someone you know owns a printer. No audio out, though...
Yeah that would be a much better option! Unless you get this thing super cheap, I would stay away from it. Man I didn't even think of looking for a 3D printed one =/
i've been wondering for ages if this cradle actually passes through data? my idea is to create a ps vita tv dock and embed this cradle on the base that holds the rasperry pi so i could have a "clean" and rigid look. but i can't seem to find anywhere online wether the cradle connector supports data transfer or its just limited to charging
I have some random unbranded one I got of newegg years ago for my 1000 but the Japanese cradle for the 2000 looks cooler. PlayStation Vita スタンド付ケーブル (PCH-2000シリーズ専用)
Yes that does look way cooler! Thanks for the heads up! The minimal design is nice. Looking up that cradle I saw that there is one for the PsP 2000 that has a remote.... one more cradle to keep an eye out for =/
@@EveryDayRetroGaming yea it looks really cheap and honestly just plugging in my vita to the usb charger is good enough. Guess it makes a nice little collectible
Nice review man! :) Unfortunately all PS Vita items are so expensive now 'cause they are kind of.. rare.. anyway nice video, keep it up!
Thank you! Yeah now that the Vita is "Dead" people seem to realize how cool it is! So prices are rising...
If it's has video out to HDMI then I would consider it but no use if it's just charging and audio out
This stand would have been amazing if there was HDMI out.

I got my dock off of Mercari also, for about 54 dollars, I love my Vita 1000!
Mercari is super awesome for the deals if you can jump em it quick enough!
Imo with how those cords fray on the 1000 vita, I'd say it's kind of worth it.
You bring up a good point. I forgot how cheapy those cords are.

Thinking of getting one of these and hooking up a ps4 controller
That would be cool. Hopefully you can find one cheap!

Are these still available where you bought it?
I picked mine up from Mercari. There are a few on there still but the people are asking way to much for them right now.
Skipped on the charging dock all these years cause that thing will for sure scuff up my vita. Looks cool tho
It is neat but not worth the price. My Vita is in bad shape all around the edges so the damage is done for me haha.

Thanks for the honest review, you convinced me not to buy it, I am better off 3rd party or DIY. 🤣 Definitely not worth it .
Unless it's close to 20 bucks, pass! I've seen some cool DIY ones that are worth what I spent on this thing haha. Glad to save you some cash!
Nice vid, really enjoyed it. You earned my sub. Keep it up :)!
Thank you! You are my 100th Sub. You'll always hold a special place in my heart Patrik!
I remember these being around 30 on release
30 bucks is a lot more reasonable.
I found mine at a retro gaming store years ago for only $15.
I recommend getting one on etsy!
They look a lot more interesting and save you a lot more money haha!
Not worth it at all. I was going to get one but it really doesn't make sense.... might as well get a cheap phone holder
Pretty much. Best to get one of the Rose Colored Gaming Vita stands for less than 20 bucks.
This really one of those just for collectors items, isn't it... Looks nice, not $60+ nice though.
Exactly! For 60 bucks you can pick up a PsP a much better use of money in my opinion. 3D printing one like @vlad hateg said would be the best option.
$20 when they came out. Got mine foe 50 worth every penny. Lol
