Is climate change racist?

- We can’t win the fight against climate chaos without dealing with racism.
The people most affected by the climate crisis are also much less likely to have contributed to the problem in the first place.
Watch this video to find out why.
So you are saying China is racist?
@@LeanAndMean44 yes. It's a typical everything is racist rant.
These people are brainless. Spreading hate
@@sidsnot6952 carbon dioxide is also straight up a toxin that causes people to be more ill and actually more dumb. Are you on board now?
'Structural racism' lmao this is beyond boring now
It’s always been beyond boring. There is literally no talking point in existence more vapid or tiresome than “racism”

@@ariescrystal3107 Yes! Indeed.
Lmao why do you people still bother reasoning with these snoobabs. Just own it, it pisses them off more.
Being white is racist
@@aodh5966 So it would seem as far as these demented freaks are concerned.
Isn’t China one of the biggest producers of carbon in the atmosphere?
This is exactly what I have said! They are acctually blaming people when we shouldn't in the video they even say we are not blaming anyone but they are, and they got their facts wrong.
@@miarosko9362 It's not so much about that. Yes location has an important part (north / south countries) but it's also talking about countries who are already developed and other who are still developing, like China. That's what the Rio Conference of 1992 is making for : the right to develop. And in order to do it, countries need to use the CO2 (like China), just as other countries did before (developed countries like the US, France or Germany (just to name few) did it during the industrial Revolution). The subject here is not about the ideology on a specific country, but China is still suffering on extrem poverty. And in order to eradicate poverty, countries need to use CO2 (scientific causality between the use of CO2 and the development in a country).
Yeah and you know who else is? Big oil. Now which one are you more likely to be able to affect by your protest? The country of China? Or corporations that are based in the US and the UK?
@@miarosko9362 but China is embracing the change to renewable energy. The US still prefers to cling to fossil fuels this late in the game. Shameful. 🤦🏽
Yes it is. Majority of pollution is taking place in non European/white countries. However since white people are bad this only applies to them.
GOD IT GET TO THE POINT WHERE YOU CAN'T TELL IF THIS SARCASM OR REAL
It's shameful to try and blame the weather on race. This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard. It's all about people who choose to live by the oceans. Hurricanes are older than human kind.
Trying to make some kind of correlation is childish !
Its true Europeans are responsible for climate change.
Not try to be offensive but truth ful European who take the plaudits for all this technology and wealth must expect accept the blame for destroying the world

I agree with the premise that climate change effects people from poor economic backgrounds more than it does those from 'wealthy' backgrounds; even though it's the wealthy that tend to cause the pollution.
However, I strongly disagree with your approach to this discussion. It's not about race and it's not about ethnicity, it's about your socio-economic background. By making it about race and gender, you're alienating so many people including myself.
Its about race because European industrialisation and greed corruption deception that has caused climate change. Corrupt democracy police gangstalking within white supremacy causing the destruction of the world .corrupt violent dishonest hateful people with low vibrations.
@@louisgalfilla8427 so you're saying china/ asians are corrupt and all the list even more because they cause more pollution than europe
Why? Don't you have a race and a gender? One would only be ”alienated” from climate action if they didn't care about the climate in the first place. But I have a reason to be involved in climate action for any human who wishes to raise the next generation (even if they're racist):
It's been known that higher concentrations of carbon dioxide (the main greenhouse gas produced by human activity) not only accelerates climate change, but is itself a toxin. It's been found that even very slightly higher-than-normal levels of CO2 (on the scale of parts per million, so something like 0.0001%-0.001% increase) can cause and have caused people to become ill and have impaired cognitive abilities. In layman's terms, the main cause of climate change is also directly causing people to be more ill and straight up dumber. Carbon dioxide poisoning during pregnancy can also lead to predispositions to neurodevelopmental issues that amplify the effects stated above. Human intelligence as a whole will take a step backwards.
I strongly recommend you read my first reply before this one, where I dive into the details in the problems of your comment. It is not meant to be an attack on you, but maybe I could provide a perspective you hadn't considered.
I agree with you that socioeconomic background instead of strictly race and gender is technically the deciding factor in how catastrophic climate change can be to a given person. But think about this: what kind of socioeconomic norm is created by colonialism and patriarchy? You probably already know that the answer is a racist and sexist one. Combine this logic with the actual fact that colonialism and patriarchy did (and some might say still do) exist for a long time, which produces lasting effects as long as justice isn't served. Then, you can see that socioeconomic background is unfortunately linked (not 100%, but statistically significant) with race and gender. That is why.
@@nuklearboysymbiotethere is no patriarchy today. And nobody is being affected by it anymore. So this whole thing, is just nonsense meant to make you and anyone like you feel victimized. You’re not a victim of anyone but yourself for believing this garbage
No, it's not.
Change your doctor, madam. We're freezing to death now.
Trade and government policies are racist as is their failure to tackle the climate and ecological emergency. The impacts of the climate and ecological crises and other social and health impacts are predominantly down to essentially racist policies that do not take a long term view and do not have sustainable development goals included in them up the supply chain. I get the argument that climate change is 'racist' but I don't like how it distances government and industry from the problem.
Lets put it another way: A lack of effective action on the climate and ecological emergency and environmental and social problems is inherently racist and is essentially a form of economic and racial apartheid.
no
Days by day news are getting worse and worse like what the hell 😂😂😂😂😂
Here come all the people who don’t even bother to watch the video and still criticise it
@Jacob Shapiro ok, so tell me: is anything in the video factually incorrect?
In western countries certainly none, they are City dwellers, it's indigenous people that suffer the most from flooding due to more & more natural & greenbelt land being built on to house the invasion of 3rd world immigrants in the last 40 years, yet every single time the British people are asked they have said no to being flooded with immigrant's on this small island.
@@thegamedetective1877 If everything is racist there's always the option of removing yourself from a "structurally racist" society and living somewhere you're not feeling so oppressed. Best for you, best for us, everyone's a winner.
@@Yougottalaugh-p9u Truth is, we were never asked.
@@gammonsandwich1756 Will you apply your logic to people like Jacob above who says it's the 'indigenous people of Europe' who are suffering from structural racism? Will you recommend they remove themselves from the society they live in? Because you know, best to be consistent and fair.

Is climate change raciest .
Different socioeconomic and racial groups often face unequal exposure to heat and increased heat-related sickness, mortality and energy costs.

Is this imaginary crisis caused by imaginary bigotry? Of course not, since that’s really really idiotic. But whining about the two will get you all kinds of money, so why stop.
It's not easy to remember this in our day to day lives, but critical to understand what's actually happening in the world. The overarching corporate model sadly hasn't changed much from the East India Companies through to our modern day FTSE-listed behemoths.
The Limited liability corporate form, which enabled colonialism, was considered a sin by the Church in Europe upon inception 400 years ago (Thomas Piketty, Capital in the 21st Century). It is the same concept which fostered globalism, MNCs and environmental destruction without any repercussions.
I’m out
This video is racist;.
I noticed that the only people agreeing with this are young women lol. Kony2012
Is carbon a pollutant or a bi-product?
Both. Atmospheric carbon dioxide emissions are a byproduct of burning fossil fuels (and practically everything else). A pollutant is too much of something, and right now there's 50% more CO2 in the atmosphere than there was during the 11,000-year development of agriculture (and hence our food security). And that excess CO2 is causing the global warming that is leading to all sorts of extreme weather events that are threatening agriculture.
I didn't support climate change before this video thank you for changing my mind
Wait please tell me, how did you come to the conlusion, reasoning? Just asking
Lol boy are you gullible, naive, a bot, or all of the above

BAME's are exposed to higher levels of air pollution in the UK because the vast majority live in cities - you know, like our capital that's now 40& non-White - all these claims are nonsense and only go to further marginalise indigenous people of the UK. This constant reference to the alleged crimes of our forefathers being the reason for all these so-called inequities is an absolute lie. Furthermore colonialism was a measurable net benefit to the colonised - raising life expectancy, raising standards of living, building infrastructure and sharing knowledge.
It was the indigenous people of the UK that ended chattel slavery.
You're welcome.
