I Sent $10,000+ In Gold Coins To PCGS For Grading - Unboxing The Results (FAKES?!?)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 6 июл 2022
- I sent a bunch of gold that I own into PCGS for grading to make sure that they were authentic and see if we could get some good grades back, and here are the results! Some ended up coming back with great ones, and others less so - let me know if you would have done this differently in the comments. Gold is always super fun to collect and go after, both from a collectible perspective and a precious metals and gold investing one, and I'm happy that I went through this process and paid about $350 to do so.

Thanks for the share. It is very educational to guess the grades. The no motto gold is a favorite of mine. There is some great value to be had. Happy collecting!
Great video, really appreciated your explanations on the grading and values! Awesome haul bro!
Some great coins, Christian! Sorry you got burned on that quarter eagle. I can't imagine why they couldn't grade the large cent, either. The date is pretty clear.
Thanks Dave! Another commenter recommended ANACS - maybe that will be my next step.
Maybe the mintmark was unverifiable
Nice gold Coins, always enjoy watching someones grading skills.
Thanks for watching!!
I'd send the "1804" to anacs. They are better at identifying things like that, are cheap, and the difference in return you would get between that and pcgs should be minimal in that grade.
Good idea!
That was fun 😄 Thanks
Great info. Scary if you can be fooled with that fake. Awesome coins
Beautiful type set
This is Gaspar , throw a fella a
GLD or Silver BONE .😎
Great job on those that straight graded
Love your vids!
fantastic, very fun
Sorry to hear about the counterfeit gold. You should have it tested as it may still be gold. Here’s hoping. But great overall results. Thanks for sharing.
You and me both! But I think it's real, lower purity gold.
Congratulations
Big like 194 my friend! Thank you so much for sharing this excellent video!
Any chance that coin dipping liquid could fix the obvious cleaning signs on the gold coins?
Nice gold stack! Sorry about the fake in there but overall some beautiful coins
Must be nice to get gold coins for Christmas 🎄 I bet that's not a common practice for many.
Great video! As for the rejected gold coins, was the gold verifiable but not the dies and date?
I believe that the False Dies means that it was a struck counterfeit (probably higher quality, and not a cast coin), though almost all of the gold in counterfeits is at least real gold, but often lower purity. Thanks for the question & support!
7:22 looks like the 1881 has a beard lol
Thanks for sharing your awesome coins!!!
Thanks for watching!
@@TreasureTownCoins I watch all your video's!!!
Nice!! congrads
It's really easy to get burned by those counterfeit incuse gold coins. They're a lot easier to pass off than a normal strike would be. I see counterfeits of those more often than any other series by a mile.
I am jealous of that 1926 double eagle. I have both the 1926 quarter and 1926 ten dollar Indian pcgs graded ms62. 😍
Beautiful coins! I'm actually looking to get some coins graded. So I will most definitely be checking out your tagged links in your description. You seem to be pretty knowledgeable about coins. What do you know about possibly owning a ungraded $20, 1933 double eagle golden coin? What would someone do with it to recieve the largest payout when selling it?
Whoa! It's likely fake, but feel free to send an email to treasuretownyt@gmail.com.
On pre 33 gold I’m pretty good at grading Let me know if you need advice.
Nice coins thx for sharing great video
Thanks for watching!
Are the initials under the Indian head on that counterfeit 2.50?
Yea, the rounded edge on that indian is a good tell for fake. Is it real gold though ?
Right to the bank vault? I want to buy a few.
...nice stuff
"Just throw up a body bagged coin on EBAY" LOL
wow nice 👍👍👍🙂
Nice collection. Too bad on the not genuine. My gold comes from Apmex sales or coin shops that own a Sigma metalytics
I took one look at the 1910 and knew it was wrong. My mentor in coins made me study all the conterfeit books and his box of mistakes. The gold was graded properly. I do not do much gold anymore. I did run into a guy I made a trade with in 1990. I traded a 1916 quarter in NGC 63 and he had an 1890 CC $20 in MS60 which at that time was one of the few uncs graded. Coin had booming luster but was baggy to say the least. Before I made the deal called my mentor, he made me an offer. We did the deal, some cash was involved and I sold it that night. The guy that bought the 1916 got it regraded and made a nice profit as well
What s a baggy coin?
wow my 1910 came back the same way.....
Love the $10 Indians. Yours is a beauty.
I appreciate it!
U keep saying bank vault like at a bank type vault or just a personal safe im confused
How did you get vouchers?
PCGS Platinum membership & attending WCU!
The coin that is unidentified shows the year 1805
Wow ... really interesting. sorry about the counterfeit gold coin ... do you think it is real gold?
I think it is lower purity!
That 1912 indian looked over graded
Is the counterfeit Indian still made of gold?
Likely lower % gold.
@@TreasureTownCoins thank you for the reply 👍
Never submit cleaned coins, PCGS does not like that.
I have half dollar 1971 coin
I hope you can get your money back
I'm happy with the results!
Keeping your coins in a bank vault ISN'T as safe as you think. People have lost MILLIONS from banks changing hands. One guy lost his 10 million dollar ROLEX collection. They don't insure or even assure you of your valuables safety. You are better off buying a UL rated safe for a few thousand dollars and hiding it in your house somewhere. ISM safes are the way to go.
I wonder how much money you wasted grading coins.
Looked like 1805 to me
it's 1804
Yeah that sucks nothing worse than a counterfeit coin
This sounds very discuaging to even submit any coins for the expense. 😢
Sir namaste🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
That pcgs coin is goin for abt $30-100
Seems crazy to me! But bids have been strong!
Congrats on 100k subscribers. I’m a coin dealer looking to start my on RUclips channel in Augest hope I can get to 100 k subscribers. The quarter gold eagle scan it. If it comes back 14k it’s fake. If not send it to ngc just in case. I had to coins from pcgs come back counterfeit then ngc graded them both gold coins as well.
📽️👍👍👍👍💪
I need you to help me pleace
My name Mohan form indan
BULLION FOR ME, I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE SCAM BUSINESS.
bummer on the counterfeit indian. this should be a lesson to everyone if you are not a good grader stay away from raw coins especially gold. what I am baffled about is you admittedly said you don't do well in grading gold, yet you buy raw gold coins. strange.
I guess - but the overall results were positive. A good lesson in terms of not buying counterfeits in the future, and also that it's better to buy a lot and lose on some than not at all.
Some really nice coins 🪙 👏 👌
Thanks 👍
Looks like you cleaned all them.coins amigo.come.on
