It's pretty good, the wine The way that we look at Ten to eight in the morning Just talking, still awake in Dawn and dew drinking, thinking Always... Remembering the laughs, the time We got high for seven days down In New Orleans and it seemed like No one else knew we were just The moon and sun in fog before the Heat burned it away and took The sleep from tired heads on Beds of reaching hands, of road trip Breath and long tall freedom And then you long For the days of trippin' down The long road just reading the Signs that show you the way to A higher place you meditate to Feel the quiet of the earth That was back When we used to be alright Another shame, the way The city smells worse on A hot day in August...2 PM Right before us good movers Move and us shakers break Our hearts getting home to Country love and the garbage Dump by the dried up creek Near the forest that once had life And then I turn on the news Somebody shoot me soon I'm tired of over heating, falling Quick to bending knees and Broken veins, of always needing Faith to get to shore and break All the vows I've made No time or presence Of mind to wonder why No time for questions of Why I wonder why Something's wrong...again The noise shakes the ground There's a rage in The crowd and I'm a face In the crowd, what's your name? You're sinkin' in the sand Standing next to me, a river Running through your pants, afraid To trust me when my hands Are helping you
I grew up in the early mid 90s munch music and the few radio stations that play this kinda alt rock when my parents and other parents drive me to hockey soccer and le crosse . But that’s back when I was alright . 2020
The drummer from soundgarden is leagues above the talent level of the other members of soundgarden _(although maybe Cornell's singing for the songs that his voice 'works' on comes close, but then again he does end up singing things not suited for his voice sometimes, like in some Audioslave gigs)._ I Mother Earth (especially the instruments) are an exceptional talent level as if they are all the soundgarden drummer's league. It's not just "widdley fast" impressive music but actually danceable catchy simultaneously (and not pop). IME (Like a Girl) _"My mind erased before I had time to waste my afteroon."_ pertaining to Eclipse, Christ, as of Blind Melon (I Wonder), _"they ripped away my memories."_
Amazing band other than Rush I think I Mother Earth was the most technically musically talented Canadian band and most of it rested on the shoulders of the drummer who wrote most of their music
Oh man. 20-something years gone. Back when we used to be alright. That shit smarts.
My favorite shot is the kid singing "country love" at 1:50 and just grooving away, it fits so perfectly into the video!
Is that your kid😅
I wss in this video!! So much fun and memories!!! ❤
What part? You likely would have been a kid or a teenager at the time. Wait a minute are you the little kid singing "country love" at 1:50?
@natevm7888 😆 no, that's not me. I'm 3:48 🥰
THIS SONG ROCKS!!!!!!!!!
We had some amazing alternative rock bands in Canada in the 90’s
Goddamn right and we NEED a revival!
I mother earth was the epitome of Canadian alternative grunge rock. What an Era?
I was at the filming of this video. I was a face in the crowd. Great tune
How did you end up being there and part of this video, a face in the crowd as you say..lol
Great song - heard it on the radio twice this week!
PC Henderson ok fukn a
Legendary comment
Had a sound of their own. Huge and I mean Fn huge in the 90s. If Edwin and them didn't split. They'd be 10x as popular as they were.
It's pretty good, the wine
The way that we look at
Ten to eight in the morning
Just talking, still awake in
Dawn and dew drinking, thinking
Always...
Remembering the laughs, the time
We got high for seven days down
In New Orleans and it seemed like
No one else knew we were just
The moon and sun in fog before the
Heat burned it away and took
The sleep from tired heads on
Beds of reaching hands, of road trip
Breath and long tall freedom
And then you long
For the days of trippin' down
The long road just reading the
Signs that show you the way to
A higher place you meditate to
Feel the quiet of the earth
That was back
When we used to be alright
Another shame, the way
The city smells worse on
A hot day in August...2 PM
Right before us good movers
Move and us shakers break
Our hearts getting home to
Country love and the garbage
Dump by the dried up creek
Near the forest that once had life
And then I turn on the news
Somebody shoot me soon
I'm tired of over heating, falling
Quick to bending knees and
Broken veins, of always needing
Faith to get to shore and break
All the vows I've made
No time or presence
Of mind to wonder why
No time for questions of
Why I wonder why
Something's wrong...again
The noise shakes the ground
There's a rage in
The crowd and I'm a face
In the crowd, what's your name?
You're sinkin' in the sand
Standing next to me, a river
Running through your pants, afraid
To trust me when my hands
Are helping you
good job on the lyrics
This is my 74th favorite song of all time!

Anyone know why Edwin left the band?
He wanted his own 'creative direction' back in the late 90s. He had a band called "Edwin and the Pressure " check them out

You know Chris Cornell wrote almost all the guitar in soundgarden? Not just a singer
Nostalgia as fuck

classic
i was a baby when this came out
Great song!! Great band, though I prefer Bryan Byrne to edwin. Byrne has a voice and clesrly showed his vocal and writing abilities
Andrew Law what? IME is nothing without edwin.
you are in a very small club there... lol, actually..
Brian FTW
What's with the made for radio versions of these tunes?
