There was a genre of video that was big a while back (and still is to a lesser degree) that was basically just cramming as many memes references, sound effects, and jokes into a short clip as possible. Entirely absurdist and nonsensical unless you understood the references, and then it was just sensory overload causing laughter hahahahha

The joke is often the absurdism and stupidity. Some of it is laughing at the fact that something this stupid actually exists. Sort of a surprise reaction.
@@starrysurprise2that's pretty much it. For example, the onions one sounds like a typical commercial. When it asks you to imagine two onions, you're wondering where it will go. It then asks you to imagine 3 onions, you're led along even further, wondering what this could possibly be building up to. But as the music plays and the dialogue ceases, you suddenly understand that that really was it, there's nothing more. That subversion of your expectations is where the humor is found.

The fact that many "non-existent" parents allow their children to consume this content (same with YT and other digital platforms) and still wonder why their kids are behaving poorly boggles my mind the most.
