    Thanks for the multiple warnings about the side windows. Maybe I’ll build mine with them in the rolled-down position.

      They've given me trouble on the three '71 Dusters I've done. The MPC '76 Dart Sport has these windows as a part of the single windshield part.

      @TheMuscleCarModeler  Год назад +1

      Thanks but on the Dusters, the windows don’t roll down. They pop out. The MPC set up as one piece is so much easier.

    Sharp looking AMT '72 Plymouth Duster you built & painted, Raoul! Your Duster brought back a lot of memories for me as a friend of mine owned a '71 Duster that I rode with him to college years ago.

      A neighbor's girlfriend, during my high school days, had a light blue Duster, not sure of the year.

    Real nice!! Awesome job on this build. Brings back some fun memories. A schoolmate of mine had a red '74 Dart Sport 360 with white C-stripes and his older brother, who I didn't really know, had an orange and black '73 Duster 340. The Dart sat in his family's driveway for years after, then one day it was gone. Hopefully either he took it elsewhere and still owns it, or it got sold off to a good home.

    Always liked the look of the Duster Twisters as well. Over at Dodge they offered the Demon Sizzler. I love the big 340 billboard callouts some of the Duster 340s carried on the hood.

    Awesome job! I’m learning a lot from your channel.
    I had problems with the side windows too.
    I realized that the lower mounting surfaces were pinched between the interior tub a the inside of the rear quarters. After trimming away the mounting surfaces it fit fine. The upper mounting surfaces were enough to hold them in place.

    I bought this as a real car in 1975. My first car. I wish I had never got rid of it. Mine was the same color and hood and stripes the same. No scoops and rear spoiler. I also put Crager SS mags on it. Built engine and hp clutch. Headers and traction bars. I terrorized the streets of Kannapolis NC in the middle and late 70s. A girl ran a stop sign in Mooresville NC in 79 and totaled the Duster. Sad day. Many a street racing in that car. Today I still own my 70 Challenger and 70 GTX that I bought during the 70s. Buying the model now and going to put one together in memory of this fine Plymouth iron.

    Tough looking Duster. I'm not a Mopar guy, but the Duster was always a favorite body style of mine. Great color choice and it matches those stripes perfectly.

    Great conversion to a 72. Just for your information the engines were painted in April of 71 from orange to blue. This was because the location of production of the 340 was moved from Canada to the US. So guess they just wanted the US made engines to be a different color. I have a friend that has a 72 Demon 340 made in November of 71 and his engine is blue. I have the scoops installed on my 72 Duster 340 like you because I liked them. The scoops are factory from a 70 Swinger 340. Just a heads up to those out there the scoops are installed with the tall side out. Not like the instructions say in the kit.

    Are those decals on the tires or did you paint the white lettering ?
    Thanks

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  Год назад +1

      Thanks. The lettering is raised on the tires and I painted them. They are really tall so it is easy to paint these.

    Raoul she is beautiful
    What would you think if you ran across a 72 Dodge dart demon
    340 4bbl thermoquad
    3 speed ,bench seat,dog dish caps, with heads that were stamped 360,no scoops ,no spoiler,don't remember much more
    What is the correct name of the blue they had that year.i call it glow in the dark blue
    Oh had white stripes

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  Год назад

      We're 360 heads something that would've happened. I know the guy that bought the car new and he never worked on it

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  Год назад +1

      After all these years and developments on heads. Maybe so. I really don't know much about all the possibilities with the small block mopar. I have enough fun keeping up with the Big Block Mopar! I have a few and the advancements that have happened in heads on those in the last 20 years is amazing. When I built my last 440 in the late 90's. Only street heads were original iron heads that I had to get oversized valves, bronze guides, hardened exhaust seats. Edelbrock had a set but they were way expensive at the time and then they had race heads. Street aluminum heads were getting a bit better and cheaper 15 years ago and in 2010 I bought a set of Stealth Heads! Great for a budget and cheaper than redoing original heads. Now I have stepped up to Trick Flow 240 heads and cant wait to get this running.
