Thanks. I have not seen the newest AMT 70 Chevelle as I understand the front end was reworked a bit for better fitting. The Monogram 70 Chevelle is my preferred 70 Chevelle kit, but it also has its issues.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler The classic Monogram 70 is 1/24 IIRC and the front is odd shaped like lights, brows flat. My reference was to use the new tool Revell '69 kit for chassis, engine bay, etc. like you did here since the real cars are about the same in those areas. In fact, more so than a 70 Mone Carlo (which used to be my "go to" kit for upgrade) or '71 Chevelle (A/C on BBC changed for instance). The ultimate '70 begins with Revell snap body-interior which is unfortunately getting tough to find. Dragging on, but finally in late 80's friend had 4 door '64 sleeper (exactly like Repo Man) with built 350 that always beat other guy's '80 Camaro no matter what he did to it - hilarious!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler My father special ordered a '64 Impala wagon with the highest performance 327 offered. It was a 4bbl with dual exhausts and it came with the crossed flags on the fender V emblem.
Yes. I agree. What I find funny is if you were that close to a car back then. The body would hit you as it rolled by. Mirrors didn’t stick out like they do now but those are legal! LOL
Chevrolet didn’t offer the V8 in the Chevy II Nova in 62 and 63. There are no documented dealer swaps also and here is the reason that I heard long ago. There was no oil pan that cleared the Nova crossmember. All oil pans were rear sump and the Nova needed a front sump like a Ford. This is also why the 64 didn’t get the V8 right away. Chevrolet had to redesign a special oil pan for the front sump and clear the steering. Plus a special pick up tube and mounts. Once those parts were developed Chevrolet did offer them in a kit through the parts department. Pretty much the performance parts catalog at the time (Chevrolet Power book). But these parts were developed early 64 and were not available before then but could be used on all 62-67 Novas with a 6cl.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler while the 283 could be had in 1964 in the nova, it was not until 1965 that you could get the 300HP 327 in the nova. Gorgeous build on the chevelle! Your inspiring another 64 chevelle build lol!
I am wondering if that yellow is the same pale yellow of a 1965 celebrity Z-16 that was loaned to? given? to Dan Blocker, "Hoss," from Bonanza. The show did ads for/promoted Chevrolet Vehicles. Flawless conversion and a beautiful build.
No it is not. 64 is Goldwood Yellow and 65 is Crocus Yellow I don’t know how different they actually are but even the code is different. Sometimes the code is the same but the name changes but it’s the same color. 66 is Lemonwood and 67 - 69 is when Butternut takes over.
All your work into making this a detail build has really paid off. She looks GREAT!!!!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks a bunch!

Thanks. Sounds like fun. Did you do them at the same time or one after the other?
Good going, a decent 70-72 would like this '64 require Revell to again save the day in great details.

Thank you Wayne! Happy Holidays to you as well!
Excellent kitbashing with a great looking finished build!,i look forward to what you have in store for 2025!
Thanks.
The spinner controversy was hilarious. If you were that close to the spinning wheel, you had other problems I assure you.
Seems to have been a "solution for a nonexistent problem". 😅

The spinners were put on to stop hubcaps being stolen off moving cars... was also the start of break dancing😂😅
LOL! That great.
Very nice
Thanks
Awesome car Rahl my dads fav year and mine as well luv the color detail is exquisite 😁🤩scooter😎
Nice 👍 Thank you!
I believe that the 63 Nova SS V8 was a delete from factory. Some dealers did install V-8 though.

@TheMuscleCarModeler Butternut I get. That color is an exact match for a Butternut Squash. Lemonwood? 🤷♂️
