It's interesting how much they changed Shinijro with each iteration of this game. He was always a good person with a touch exterior but he goes into "Mother Hen Mode" in Reload. His original VA also chose to keep up Shinji's tough guy act, despite his actions, so I was really taken by surprise when his new one had him almost crying at this part.

I think they're mimicking the sassy and waterfall scene from homeward bound. that stuff seriously messes me up. go watch it. its so traumatic.
