My youngest son is now driving! Of course, the easiest car on the planet to learn how to drive is an older Honda, especially the 1990 four door! We are not going to do anything too crazy until he gets a better car. Right now, he is just starting out. Every MAN needs his first deck and today, we dropped one in! Ran short on time because we had a lot going on in the shop today but we will get the door speakers finished this weekend (hopefully). Oh, we posted a lot of this live on at instagram.com/meade916 so if you wanna see fun stuff like this before anyone else, follow my channel! Thanks for watching!
meade916 love these father son videos. Passing down the skills hopefully they take this passion of yours and continue to grow even if its just for hobby purposes. Blessings brother. And happy holidays
@@B2audio No thank you for making some killer shit! And still beeing a brand that hasn't sold out! So many brands are not what they used to be...but you are still going strong! thnx for that!
FYI: I did not get this stuff for free. We drove across town and bought it. I am putting Arden Audio out there because i support local shops that are good to their customers. I have a large platform so i like to do this as a thank you to anyone that has been good to me. B2 Audio is an SMD partner and i probably could have asked for free stuff, but instead, i drove to a shop and bought it. I do this a lot. I did get a great deal like Dia (the owner) always does for people, but i really like to walk in and just buy. Just wanted to throw that out there for people that think i don't pay for anything ever when that is totally not true. :)
Props to you for being a great dad, my father never really did things like this with me. I hope to be a cool dad like you Meade! 🔊🔊🎄 happy holidays man!
This is Great. I'm 48 years old and my son just started driving. I'm a bass head dad from a long ways back and I installed a system in his toyota 4 runner I just bought him. He has two 12" Ampere audio sub's, Skar 2000.1 sk amp, SSA Evil 6.5 components set and skar 75.4 4-channel amp on a Pioneer 500EX HU. Not a bad starter system for him.
Some people were griping about the 90 Honda. At least your kids know what it's like to drive a beater and will maybe appreciate the nice cars, and other nice things in their life, so keep it up. Right on man.
I love how Steve's kids work for their stuff. My first car was a 1998 Mazda 626 and although it wasn't the best it was mine and I took care of it. Im in a 2013 Silverado now, sometimes I miss the 33 mpg.
Installing new speaker's and sub's is fun and all, But the best part is when you turn that ignition for the first time with the subwoofer inside, and you listen to it for the first time ever
I love the father-son aspect of this video. You’re not just hooking him up with a kick ass sound system you’re showing him how it’s done and the proper way to do. Right on 🤙🏽
Yeah, these install vids are where its at. By far my favorite content you make. The bucket o bass, Psyphs car, and the car you redid from the other audio shop are what got me hooked on your channel. I like the other stuff, but these series videos are well done and fun to watch.
So dope that you guys out in cali still have nice old cars driving down the road. Anything around here in the north is just straight rotted out. This build is going to be awesome
My dad had a 91 accord like this as well back in the days, so recently I bought another one and this right here is an inspiration. I'm gonna doll the same with him on that car. Awesome father son... I'll also have my son with us as well
after you introduced me to tesa tape i have been hooked onto that stuff... Been using in a lot of the things i do. It just leaves everything looking super clean.
All i had in my 92 accord is some 6x9 in the back and 6 1/2 in the door and a pioneer head unit.. Lol.. And dat bad boy sound like it had two 12's in the back.. Those year accords are prefect for a sound system..
one big giant issue with this video steve. he did not use a steak knife to open his boxes you know thats good luck on all smd builds please school him on that for future videos
Oh man! 1990 Accord was my favorite car. Put a nice system in it when I was about 19. Tweeters went where the dash vents and reflected perfectly. I miss that thing. Great car for your son!
You never forget your first system. I still think back to when i just had a single Polk Audio DXI12, Polk Audio 750w amp. This is awesome of you to do for your son! May he drive safe, cuz i sure as hell didn't when i was young lol
Budget sound is the best kind of sound when you can make it sound almost as good as expensive sound. Can’t wait for a big audio upgrade in the future with another car
Steve, when I worked at a shop for several years, we were into keeping everything hidden. BIG sound, nothing seen. It would be interesting to see a 'micro' system for him....meaning small amps, like the sound digitals. My wifes 93 accord ,10th anniversary edition, I had most of it all hidden. 3 Rockford Fosgate Punch 75hd amps...front, rear, and 1 12" sub -JL audio, in a 4th order band pass....it banged pretty hard for 75watts to all stages...Eclipse deck-when they were good by Fujistu Ten...and Alpine components front and rear...I tuned everything with an oscilloscope back in those days. Nowadays, I tune systems using your Xover calibrator CC-1 and your Distortion Detector DD-1.....great products. someday I will get the IM-SG to continue to do home installs and tuning. Love the videos and keep doing what you do. Makes us oldschool dudes feel good...youngsters just dont know...
Awesome video my first car was an 93 accord too! I put in a Pioneer deck, door speakers, 6x9s, tweeters, and a little 10inch sub on my own too. I miss my accord lol
Coolest thing in the world, Son gets his first car, and dad is like we'll just take it down to my shop and get you all hooked up with the latest and greatest Audio, Man I remember my first car and the Audio was my house speakers and some old kick & boot start stereo that whistled and farted like no other and my dad was like, Turn that shit off before I take a hammer to your speakers. Your son is so lucky.
90 Accord is a great first car. Reliable, easy to drive, good on gas, and parts are abundant. You can hook them up to look nice and go fast. There very easy to work on too.
Steve you inspired me I'm going to do the same thing with my son in my truck just like your buddy's bucket o bass I have the 4 x 4 so I'm going to do the same with him
i love cb7 accords man, had a built and boosted one, then put a big alternator a 15 sundown sa, and an amperage hungry hifonics brutus all 0 guage wire and a big three wiring, puting down over 400 to the tire limited by the fuel system. i absolutely love thoe cars
Love the install, simple and clean..those Hondas are a dime a dozen here in Texas, and parts are readily available..they are rather simple cars to work on and learn basic mechanical skills as well , which is a good thing for a first time driver.
One of the best cars honda made the 90 to 93 accord I have one still have one 13x7 spokes an going to be building a 6th order wall soon for 4 machette 15s
Another great video! Love to see you sharing your craft with the family. My dad did the same thing with me but it was with woodworking. I can fix about anything when it comes to wood. Love see skills passed down.
Heck yeah 👍 I had a 88 honda hatch back with 2 10s way back in the day I I loved it, then I put 2 12in L7 kickers in it and the roof was dancing 🎶💪 keep up the great work Steve much respect
I just want to say I look up to you bud. I've followed you for the past 15yrs. Your the icon of systems. I only pay attention to you my friend Zack Metts, and Exo. I always hoped to get a SMD autographed hat. To bad I'm not from Cali I would have u hook up my new systems I'm setting up( 2 ds18 xl xb12.2, two ds18 3 500 watt class d amps, and running 8 cresendo 6x5 mids inside on a 2k amp.) I'm building a fourth order box.
This is such a cool video I’m 17 and I’m rebuilding a 1990 integra but my dad doesn’t know anything about cars so it’s been a little harder having to learn on my own but I think it’s awesome that you can teach and pass this on to your son I hope to do the same one day

My first car is a 2006 Maxima SE. I just started driving in August and I put a Pioneer Double Din (cannot remember the model at the moment) inside of it. About 2-3 months after the deck install, I installed a 1200W Audio pipe amp and I have had 2 Kicker CVT 12s inside my room that I put inside the car. I still have the factory BOSE speakers inside and everything sounds great besides the inside brake light jumping from the subs and making a rattling sound. I always think about doing a review video but I can never find the time to.
So I have a 1990 Accord ex 4 door. Blue, slammed, prelude si wheels. I’m currently running a comp FI 15” in a ported box with a kicker cx1800 powered by 4 gauge at under half gain. It hits hard and sounds amazing. I love my build. Will be upgrading to zero gauge in a week or so. If you guys are interested I’ll upload a video on my channel after the upgrade and I’ll show the before and after.
Im the guy who puts subs in everyone's ride lol but sadly mine has the smallest rig lol 2 8" runing 500watts ran parallel to a mono jvc love it cost me $25 to do and i keep up with my friends system
Nice video Steve. Love watching little first time setup videos like this. Going to be a great first system. Car looks like it's in really great shape too for it's age also. Looking forward to the next video. I wish my dad would have helped me do a stereo install. Last year I helped my dad order a head unit and some door speakers for his old work truck. I helped him install that, that was a fun little project.
been watching ur vids for years dope to see you guys go back to a 1990s car, curious if u could make a vid of a newer modern car like a 2014-2018 accord or somthing be a dope build no ones ripped those things apart yet wonder what u guys could do
Hey brother Meade. I’m a huge fan from Missouri. I bump and share everything I find and learn from you in the Midwest. I was wondering if I made the trip and effort to come to see your workshop in action if you would give me a tour and bass demo?
I miss my 91 Accord! kenwood excelon components in the front and rear on an audioque 120-4 and for the lows audioque hdc3 15 on an audioque 2200 . No A/C but I had beat and I loved it Lmao
my sons earn what they get. Like i had to. All the kids learned how to drive in this car. He will get help with an upgrade for sure if i can. He has to be driving for a while though.
I love that Soundigital shirt. So many people hate on SD. I made some believers here in VA. I really want that 8k you tested but have to save up for it. I have 3 sd 3ks, a 250.2 and a 200.1. They all get down. SD 4life
this is going to be me soon lol im 15 years old and saving up, im at $600 rn, i work with my dad but i already got a nice american bass amp that ive had for a while and i told my pops i want a sundown sa 15 for christmas lol im excited

Ending with baby and the tone generator was priceless ! Great video thanks
90 accord was my first car so many memories. So different stereo setups went into it
Good man teaching his kids you have to work hard for what you want
but she runs real good for being that old
Where the cut outs are in the B pillar you should put a custom SMD acrylic with a led just to fill it in. Think it be a cool touch.
