Really dig your channel. I got to meet Maria Elana and John Pickering of the Picks, that sang many backup vocals on early recordings. I was greatly privileged to cut a Honky Tonk record with the great James Burton. He told me a very cool funny story about Buddy. James is one of the kindest most down to earth people in the business. As you know, Buddy recorded all his hits in 18 months. If only he had lived what might have been. Thanks for your lessons, I know you love Buddy as much as I do. Maria thanked me for loving his music....
I love late 1950s rock and you are authentic with your sweater and let me guess POMADE!! And your telecaster looks and sounds sounds terrific. Buddy would be honored bonus points for including my country idol Johnny Cash good job.
hi Randy, I too made Buddy tribute trip , went to Lubbock, Texas , saw his house and gravesite, also went to the Norman Petty studio in Clovis New Mexico where the recordings were made, sat in the chair at the desk, went to the diner where they ate lunch, all so amazing and emotional.. been a Buddy fan all my life ,have the original 45's from 1958 (I'm 74 now) love your videos ! Rod in London
Hi Randy. I’m saving up for that trip. I recently discovered your channel and honestly it is very inspiring. You have great taste in music. I try playing along to Buddy Holly but he played so fast. He was the real deal.
it almost sounds to me like the bass lines don`t quite match up in a spot or 2 with the rhythm guitar in the verses of the original recording - could be because of the simple bass lines over the quick chord changes - such a great tune and i love every bit of it

Yes, he was fast with his downstrokes. It took me a while to get it up to speed as well
Cool record player !!! Great records.
Congrats on the release! And yes, three-chord tunes, that even seasoned players trip-over :D

What chords are the intro actually parts of going down? i think the first is A then G then......?
You can just play A until the end then change to E for a quick turnaround before the actual song starts.
Also… cool sweater too.
yes, I like it too :-)
ur so talented!!!!!
Really great lesson! I was wondering what the name of the first song you played on your record was?
The song is called "Wow", I know the longest song title in rock'n'roll history :-D
could you tell me what is the brand of the shoes you have on the picture at 0:36?
Are you serious? I really don't know
yes I'm serious because I've been looking for these kind of shoes for a long time and just can't find something looking good.
Sorry, I really don't recall the brand, but if you search for Oxfords on any big shoe website, you should be able to find something similar.
Sweet
Yes !!!!!!!! They're available. Are they only available on records? I don't have a record player 😕 do you have download of the songs available?
write to mail@randyrich.de
I have written to your email, I don't know if you recieved it though.
The intro riff which fired the 9 year-old me up to become a guitar player.
Could you do swing bop boogie by Alvis Wayne?
Yes, great suggestion! I did play with Alvis Wayne in Hemsby long time ago. Fantastic song
Randy Richter Thanks! I have always thought that solo and tone was amazing
