A Mexican is starting to speak Russian in Los Angeles thanks to this video. I tried it today at the Supermarket when I ran into eye contact with a Russian couple while waiting in line. I told them Good morning and asked how they were lol they were shocked and happily replied lol. It was so Cool !!!! I'm hooked and love this Language so much. Thank you for your Hard work in putting these videos together .
You can sure say Russian is phonetic. Besides you always know when "o" is "a" (when it's not emphasized). Also even if you pronounce all "o"'s it's still ok, you would sound robotic but it's fine with us =) When we learn to read at the very first grade we read all words by syllables very slowly and we pronounce everything like it's written (all "o"'s are still "o" sounds). Eventually you can grasp proper Russian pronunciation during practicing the language. Good luck!
Dear Katya, it was awesome. I am very grateful to find such a channel so that I am able to develop my listening skill. Thank you so much. You are the best!
Me: Just spent two hours learning the alphabet, hey, I feel kind of comfortable with Russian, let's learn some phrases! *opens video* "Let's start! Здравствуйте: Hello!" Me: Zuhdrastooy....zehdrastoy...zee.. zuhstoydrah..*stumbles on the word for a good five minutes*...FACHK. I JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW TO SAY HELLO.
and the ease with which she pronounces what you are trying to say, a bit frustrating... I'm trying to also learn Arabic from a friend at work, god it's frustrating lol Some single simple yet fucking hard to pronounce sounds XD
It is "Zdravstvuite" Здравствуйте ^-^ Or "Privet". Or maybe you can use "hi" too. Some russians talk on english as well, they don't mind. Telling you this as a native russian.
The video was good. But could you please slow down and slowly pronounce the words, break them down. You speak Russian beautifully but for those of us trying to learn it's all run together and it's difficult to pick up. Thank you!
I have to say.... I really think Katya's personality,... is what is making me stick .. with this format to learn... she makes it fun,.. easy going,... have been trying .. initially duolingo, which is good also,... but prefer this so far... thanks to Katya!!
Subscribed! Im learning Russian because I hope to be an astronaut someday, and its a cool language! Thanks for helping me pursue my dream because you are required to know English and Russian :)
Большое спасибо 🤓 I just got back from Russia and I love it so much I'm serious about coming back and learning Russian. I live in Florida but I was born and raised in Lima - Peru. Я люблю Россия!
Спасибо Катя ! Меня люблю твой видео, I've replayed it more than 6 times for the pronantion but it's really fun to watch I don't speak any Russian for the moment but I hope to be fluent it soon and your videos are very helpful
finally i will be able to help russian customers better than before.. "where's the toilet?" and "how much does it cost?" are the most common questions haha!
I knew about this channel but previously I found it kinda boring with mindless videos. This time it really helped with your excellent skill Katya. Thank you Very Much. Learned Russian for 2 years in my grad school and still I don't have a clue about it lol
err i wish you had your own russian learning channel because i really enjoy learning from you..like really, really like learning from you :D you're awesome! i've learned so much, thank you for taking the time to teach the language to us all :D
I REALLY LIKE the way the host presented these top 25 phrases. She did an excellent job! I may have a chance to actually learn these phrases. Thank you very much
Great job. This is right at my level. I can read it, but its been a long time since Russian class and I forgot many of the words. I wish you had a two hour video made this way.
Isa Collins You should try to learn the Russian alphabet! It should only take a few hours. I learned it a few days ago and now I'm able to read pretty much any word (because it's pretty much phonetic). Here is the site that I used to learn it: www.russianforeveryone.com/RufeA/Lessons/Introduction/Alphabet/Alphabet.htm

I add different videos on my channel about russian too (and some videos with my hobbies) Maybe if you find something helpful and interesting there I will be happy if you subscribe :)
Thanks so much to Katya for all the effort she puts into making these awesome videos and to all the great team at Russianpod101. Really, a fantastic service and way of leaning. I tried a few others, but they are great, and Katya is one of the best when it comes to making these kind of videos.
I remember hearing до свидания in Rasputin's song in the Anastasia movie. I always assumed it meant something along those lines through context, and stuff like that really helps me remember my vocabulary.

This is really great, but it's really fast.... You go through everything so quickly! It would be nice if you could slow down and help us pronounce it. :)

Hello Katya I am at the library because I do not have the internet at home and this computer does not allow me to write in Russian. I studied Russian 10 years ago and stumbled across your videos so I hope you are still out there. I live in Newcastle upon Tyne and it is difficult to find a teacher so if there is anyone who wants to learn with me, or at least correspond, please say something. I will try to write something at home and paste it in comments to give some idea how good/bad I am, but I will not be able to get to a computer with internet until next week. Bryon
I love the way you are teaching. Even though English and Russian are not my native languages, I completely understand what you say. But please, speak a little bit slowly. I am unable to keep up with you.

she's so adorable and fun to watch, spasiba!
And her name is катюша! :D
Спасибо (Spaciba)
Very clear speech, but could you just slow down a bit, especially with those l-o-n-g words in Russian.
It gets easier if you learn the cyrillic alphabet because russian is mostly phonetic.
Russian is not phonetic, you never know if the "O" makes the "a" sound or the "o" sound
I said "mostly"
*****
I guess so

It is "Zdravstvuite" Здравствуйте ^-^
Or "Privet". Or maybe you can use "hi" too. Some russians talk on english as well, they don't mind.
Telling you this as a native russian.

Great job. This is right at my level. I can read it, but its been a long time since Russian class and I forgot many of the words. I wish you had a two hour video made this way.
Your english is absolutely amazing!
You really should write the sentences phonetically, when you can't read Russian, all you have left is the sound to repeat but it's pretty hard ^^'
