Great stuff Russell, keep using your gift to spread the word. Those who oppose him are closed minded, as he at least admits his flaws and uses his fame for goodness which is more than I can say about the other 99% of people in the public eye. If I had the same audience at my feet I would spread the same word. Good on you Russell!!!
This is the most awakening interview by mainstream movers and shakers I have viewed to date.. The harmony in symbiotic exchange between these 3 individuals is alive w/possibilities & undeniably infectious .. Dialog like this needs to become how we connect w/one another on all levels.. being kind to one another is the most important step towards change. Namaste
I am really glad and bless for finding this audio/visual content. I am pretty much on a stage of my life where it is not an easy task to fulfill, because I live in Dominican Republic and it seems to be that this entire country is more focusing on the hostility because it ¨appears to be the superior¨ way of do things like talk, walk, provoke and much more. I am the type of person who believes that my spiritual condition should not change because of the collateral damage of the outside, I must keep on going, no matter how hard it gets, I am not alone.
We actually do know everything already, if we could just remember. I remember the day I quit buying jewelry. I said, "What the hell am I doing? This is just dumb ass junk." Gave it all away and never bought it again. It's a journey and as you slide away from giving material possessions any weight in your life. Consuming should be functional and pragmatic not ego centered.
+AKSHAY KARTHIK I have felt this (or something similar at least) a number of time; on and off drugs. I find going to a peaceful place of natural beauty with wildlife around etc (on your own) on a nice sunny day helps do the trick (taking a joint with you may also help) :D. when I have done this I have felt at one with the world and animals and universe I suppose (sounds weird but you'll understand when you experience). the place I used to go was a natural burial ground (sounds morbid, I know but if you've ever been to a NATURAL burial ground you will find they can be very beautiful - this may also sound odd but the fact I am surrounded by buried dead people actually adds to that deep sense of one; after all dying is as natural as being born). try it and let me know if it works!
No he isn't. He is a commie telling you the "commie fairy tale" Watch Charles Mason tell you what the NWO is for. It's about 1 min long. He states if you gotta have WORLD CONTROL and that is what Russell Brand wants.
a recent study was done where random people were given certain amounts of money, sometimes 5$ 10$ or 20$. half were told to spend it on themselves and the other to spend it on someone else. afterwards they took a small survey to measure how "happy" they were with how their day went, and crazy enough the people who were told to spend the money on someone else invariably felt "happier".
gifting is a universal sign of positivity, if people keep showing positivity to arseholes it will have a knock on effect unless the arsehole has deep psychological promblems rooted in a bad childhood etc in which case more thorough psychoanalysis and treatment will be needed to help them change, everyone is born feral but we can all become civilized, culture is everything.
A stooge for the Rothschild's Banking Cartel and international socialists. He will help push us into world socialism cementing the common man in poverty. History will repeat itself for the last time.
baxtar1963 A genius would know religion, spirituality, and the ideas of god he's perpetuating are total bullshit and part of the old system of control. He's creative and funny though, I'll give him that.
oregonmeds Any smart person who has experienced deep meditative consciousness, would at least say "I don't know". Religion is most definitely a part of the old system of control, but spirituality is different. Spirituality is what existed before men realized they could use it to control. A genius may realize that they probably need to experience many amazing and indescribable things that life has to offer, before they just go about saying that they know for a fact that these things are bullshit, even though there is no proof of that. Certainly, science shows us how this and that works and that some of what religions claim is bullshit, considering they are ideas perpetuated by men in power, but science could also actually try to study many of the things that give people spiritual experiences and get off their high horse, for once. Science just says, "oh, that's just the crazy and powerful brain doing things, nothing more." Well, I say, the universe is even more crazy and powerful and has been around a hell of a lot longer than our feeble brains have, so who's to say it hasn't evolved into it's own form of intelligence? Have you ever experienced DMT?
We need more of this; compassionate intellectuals coming together to connect ideas and ultimately connect humanity again. I think honoring diversity could prove as key though so I highly encourage more people of color joining in as well. We need to connect differing perspectives to gain greater sight of humanity as the whole.
+gmarie Highly recommend Daniel Sheehan's lecture series he gave at U of Santa Barbara called The Role of the Public Intellectual. I felt it was like an online class on how to create pockets of resistance and change the world view for the better. This video exposed me for the first time to Eve Ensler. Love what she has to say about rejecting the entire boatload of materialist reductionist crapola that is foisted upon society.
it would be hard now with how economies etc have been set up but people like Russel should have been world leaders from the beginning. I am sure the world would be a better place!
I find it sad that this doesn't have a lot of views because people don't think they have enough time to watch 30 minutes. However, I am happy for having watched it. So I feel pretty even right now.
On a more positive note- I love Russell's sudden change in demeanor once Eve stepped into the conversation. Suddenly the energy was loving, caring, and respectful as opposed to rushed, anxious, and a bit angry. Obviously, Eve practices what she preaches and has already transcended to some degree.
I love the bit from 10:10. I think he makes a lot of sense, and I respect him for it. That said, some people may reject it because of who he is and what he does/did. But for me, it’s because of who he is and what he did/does, I would listen to him because he has made the effort to evolve or come out the other side. Also, he is just a human, just like us. That is what we humans do: teach and share our experiences.
I see there are quite a few of you who question Russell and his intention. I don't see his ideas for change in the system we currently live in as the best ideas floating around at the moment, but I see the other side of what it is the he may intentionally be doing at the moment; giving people his basic ideas of how the world could work, provoking people to disagree with him, therefore initiating people who do disagree to think of their own ideas for how they wish to see change implemented in the world. With his status, he's using it so supremely well at the moment, because it seems that everywhere he goes, he's constantly wanting to openly discuss the cause and cry for revolution, therefore sparking the idea for change into the psyche of all human beings who take the time out of their day to tune into what he has to say. He's making people think, and that's what we need from celebrities. I praise him for the provocation and innovation he's inducing into us all.
It doesn't matter how you do it, but it's all about getting outside of the self, consumerism and transacting as a way of being. Stop simply living vicariously via entertainment and consumerism. Get outside the self to overcome materialism and our temporary, transient nature to one of the eternal, the loving, the blessed to become active and engaged in developing an authentic self via a real life. Great comments here on these ideas, issues, and concerns by Brand and Ensler
Frankincensed I`m getting outside of the self, but i`m using alcohol as a bridge... I mean 24/7!!....seriously, I really feel unable to communicate without it. This society is too insane for me to try to live normally
Hes fantastic at absorbing information, but nothing he has said hasn't be said for decades. Still don't make me like him less or think he is any less bright though. He sure is making a difference in preaching what the problems are and he might not have all the answers but more people that know better chance to fix this shit system we exist in.
This is a wisdom of not being selfish, and feel and interact with other energies that we cannot decieve by our senses but only throw the conecction of the moment of now, the moment of unknown. And thats the beauty of spirituality. Long live and grow spirit soul like this.
What he says is great, but he is a walking paradox. He says you don't need consumerism, but is in different designer clothes in every video. He says that you should be the change you want to see, but is seemingly happy to stay in 5* hotels and live lavishly. His message is great, but he needs to lead by example if it's ever going to be anything more than nice sounding ramblings.
But I do love the message, and the only way we will progress and survive on this earth happily is by abandoning the obsession with self. But a man (or woman) should be judged by their actions, not their words, and in this case, his actions are quite muted by comparison.
But he admits that he's a walking paradox, and a bit of a hypocrite, and I think that's quite great of him. It is very easy to spread the word of being nice and living simply, but at least he does take responsibility for being a hypocrite. It would be nice to see him lead by example, though...
He's keeping his celebrity/social status because no one listens to a broke homeless man at the corner screaming about the government, he's being smart with his strategy and is making sure eyes stay on him and his message is heard.
Stephen Ridley, russell never said anything about not needing consumerism - but the fact that we are so much encouraged, in our first world, to consume. If you have a problem with designer clothes he is wearing, well what's the problem? We all need clothes, and a little more attention to quality, ratrher than quantity, goes a long way towards less consumerism - and why do you think that he needs to lead by example, by not staying in 5* hotels? why on earth shouldn't he? is it because you can't afford to stay in such hotels? it seems that you are focused on such superficialities... I think if you focused a little less on the things that really don't matter, you have more time to concentrate on the things which do matter - mate, your request that russell needs to lead by example, is your own idea of what is luxury and lavish living - you say that's nothing but nice sounding ramblings, but you say the message is great - Stephen, you are the one who is paradoxical...
Daniel Pinchbeck, you're a brilliant writer on these subjects. I think YOU should be enlightening the public about transcendental philosophies more often.
Ben Stolz That translates to an illusion of no leadership, the best solution and train of tought should come out ahead. If that is continuiously from one person it is leadership. When that is no longer the de facto, the leadership changes. Aslong as you don't try to build up with a false sense of order, and people are aware that arguing for the sake of arguing is dead. Then all is well.
Ben Stolz That's what I meant, leaders who are not in charge. Let's call them "guides" 'Guide' definition "A person who leads others to more abstract goals such as knowledge or wisdom."
Ben Stolz Mr. Stolz, I understand that you would like too see a leaderless society, where everybody is he's/her own leader. Where people are able to think for themselves, where everybody take responsibility....I get that. Believe me, I would love to live in that kind of world myself. Everyday, I think about it, everyday I dream about it. But when I look at the world that we live in today, I realize that we are VERY far from a leaderless society. So I think in order to get there, a good first step would be to put people in charge (for as long as they are needed) who are ethical, moral and intelligent, (again, they would be more like "guides" who can show people what is possible) so humanity can finally start moving in the right direction. Take a look at the number of 'likes' on my original comment, I think it shows that people don't have a problem with leaders, they have a problem with corrupt leaders. You and I maybe ready to live in a leaderless society, but there are millions who aren't. They need to be deprogrammed first. Good day sir! "There are no shortcuts in evolution." ~ Louis D. Brandeis
Ben Stolz I'm sorry, but I expected more from a philosopher. Who said anything about political solutions? Pls read my original comment. I wrote, "get rid of all the politicians" and replace them with those 3 people. When I talk about putting certain people in charge of society, I am not talking about politicians. Is Peter Joseph a politician? Is Elon Musk a politician? Is Russell Brand a politician? The answer is NO, they are not.....and you tell me that there are only technological solutions. YES, I agree. I think you should look up who Elon Musk and Peter Joseph are and what they advocate. Please add me on Facebook so I can educate you and steer you in the right direction. ;) -Robert Peter , critical thinker, construction worker.
All very nice, but I believe the crucial component of this video is that we have created for ourselves a paradigm of endless growth, yet we live on a planet that has finite resources. We can argue over the rest of it ad nauseam, but there, shining down upon us, is an undeniable, potent truth that requires our immediate attention.
The fact that some people considder Russel, and the things he is saying as some sort of enlightenment, scares me. You should already know these simple things. Want a perfect world ? Start doing basic decent shit. Share stuff, be nice, dont be greedy, empower others, embrace progression. There, 5 simple guidelines that are all you need for a world 1000 times better then the current one.
Only reason people listen to him is he has beauty, power, and wealth. One has to have one of those things in order to even be listened to. You can have his same knowledge but if you lack any of these 3 things you will be ignored.
the one issue with enlightened and smart people is they get pissed off, annoyed, and have no time for the fact that there are people who don't know these things. this is why intellectual movements haven't taken off recently. Too many people think that to be activists they have to be ass holes. "You don't know this stuff? what are you stupid? you make me sick". just makes us come off as completely ignorant ass holes. This kind of movement needs a public voice, even if it's someone with as shady and messed up of a past as russell brand.
***** It's so hard when there are so many people like that. The only way positive change will ever come is if there's positive attempts at understanding and education on BOTH sides of an argument/debate.
***** and notice i do it by NOT calling people idiots or insulting them for not understanding this idea... you attract more people with chocolate than a death axe... that's not the saying is it? oh well... i like mine better
"I just remember being there and these people weren't affording me the most basic courtesies". Definitely, more to the man than I previously considered. Touché, Russell... much peace, love and appreciation.
"I'm not a person who can live in will or desire, I have to live to learn to look within myself." Will or desire. Developing these 2 things is not the path to happiness, much less spiritual life. They are things that media drives us to embrace = just go shopping. Using the energy and impetus given us by desire for its True Purpose, to seek and know the Divine in life, develops Will for the same and also it's True Purpose, to unify with the Divine (God). Russell Brand is a natural born genius.
Here's an idea: Keep the title "God" out of it. If you need a title for this thing you're trying to describe, you can simply make one up. You don't need to cause confusion by using one that's not only already very much in use but used by *many* millions of people to describe a very specific, thoroughly outlined, deity.
Lu Chen People usually say that because the concept of God makes them uncomfortable once they realize religion is bullshit and they have been lied to their whole life. But really it doesn't matter what it means to other people, it matters what it means to you. I say Universe but its interchangeable with God. Most religions when practiced properly brings focus to the same energy which is positive, they are all praying to the same energy so God is not a bad word.
Absolutely loved and absorbed this subject. Late last year, I initiated a self-growth program for myself called The Art of Soaring. I like what Eve said about "the fallen. Who made that up? Maybe we're rising!" I there.
That was the calmest, friendliest interview someone has done with Russell that I've seen. Usually they try to interrupt him, or make him out to be the bad guy.
this is because of the moment she laughts in the end of brands sentence and he pays attention to her , and she saw that , and tryd to get more of it .good english sorry
I agree with almost everything Russell Brand says but he talks about letting go of pre conceived transcient ideas then they go on talking about the new sociopolitical format of the world resemembeling sociolism or communism and also an even distribution of currensy for global prosperity. What we need to do is let go of all of these systems and their extensions (like currensy) and create a world where prosperity comes from everyone caring for and loving one another. Where the resources of the world are evenly distributed and not restricted by money. The world can not truly change while money exists.
This interview blew my mind! I love Russell Brand, he has changed the way I see myself and the world around me in the spiritual sence. Inner revolution before a outer, physical revolution. Peace, love and unity :)
People like this should have been in power from the start, it's a shame the people who care about themselves (greedy) more than others are the ones that set this world up how it is today. it's unfortunate that people like this get ignored and people who care more about money (which should never have been created in my opinion) get all the power. we love in a world where money is power, so sad! I give the world 60 years before it all goes tits up, and that if we're lucky!
I also think the word God is used out of context so much. proof of God? there is no God, there may be a creator of some sort (not a conscious being, maybe a former of energy) but this wouldn't be God in my opinion , I have to admit I don't agree with Russel when he says God is our consciousness etc (I know what he's getting at but again, I interpret the word God as some sort of religious being; this in itself may be one source of the problem)
+Adam Dickinson I'm sceptical of a ''god'' too. But what all religions get at is the narrative as Russell says. The metaphor of god is true, there is a higher consciousness. Religion is also infectious because its participants are an active community, they feel at one. This is what is lacking in a corporate culture, stripped of communal values.
Russell, is just perfect, there are very few people in the world I respect anymore, but I do respect and like Russell. I'm so sick of the lies, weather it be race or religion, or political views. The Bible says,"if you know love you know God". What God and Jesus taught, KINDNESS, FORGIVENESS, Love, HELPING EACH OTHER! God bless you all!
That one person laughing in the audience is very distracting, almost disturbing. Don't think that one can not change their own laugh because it most certainly is possible and even easy to do. The way in which we laugh is not innate, it is adopted.
He says that monotheistic faiths promote individualism but he also said recently that Socialism is Christianity politicised. That seems like a contradiction unless i'm missing something?
Hmm i suppose he meant that most monotheistic faith promotes individualism. like muslims, or jew. In these religions the masses only watch out for each other that is within the group, not those that are of different faith. Christianity however promotes its masses to help other regardless of religion. Put that in a political sense it would be socialism, would it not? I don't know though. Everything i just said is me making sense of it. Maybe i misinterpret the whole thing.
david sounds fairly reasonable, to tell you the truth. Especially the whole distinguishing of Christianity with regards to the socialist ideology. Well said!
david Well the British Labour Party was founded by a Christian Bible Preacher in a church! I suppose the individualism that Christianity promotes is individual human rights. The problem is that Brand then goes and mentions communism. Communism is not about 'sharing', every religion promotes sharing. Communism is about forcing everyone to be the same 'in common'. Communism bans thinking, bans individuality, and it murdered more people than the Nazis. It wasn't just Russia and China, North Korea is communist and so was Pol Pot's Cambodia where he murdered 1/4 of the population.
All right will lets picture communism in a different sense. Imagine a communistic state that promotes education, individual thinking, individual happiness. One who government officials are elected by the people and not some electoral college. Lets us use this communistic country to provide to the people healthcare, education, food, and most of liberty. This communistic country allows it citizens to pursue what ever career their heart desires. Now let us globalize this and the whole world shall benefit. Third world countries will no longer suffer. People all over the world will survive and live happily. Now give everyone the best education and you will see a world mental revolution. a new renaissance that will never end. Communism can be an amazing thing if it was modified and led by people with good hearts and intention. However if used wrongly it can be a horrific thing. The only example of communism we seen was of russia. The leader of communistic russia were horrible people. Democracy isn't working, at least the form the world is seeing, corruption, greed, selfishness. It is for those reasons that the world gov't are failing. We need first rid the world of these horrible things. Than the world under any gov't any can achieve amazing humanitarian feats. Anyways I digress. I believe a new gov't is needed, wether it'll be one that finds its roots in communism, I know not. As long as it does the things i mentioned; than perhaps the world will not perish, and our lineage will find a world that is worth living in.
the problem is that socialism is just as oppressive as capitalism. It places expectations and social responsibilities on people. Fair enough, these do not necessarily need to be bad things... but they are very easily manipulated into mechanisms of control... almost more easy than neo-liberal individualism. The reason that communism failed is because it seeks to conform and in doing so it creates difference between the enforcers of conformity and the resistance of conforming. As Foucault concluded, socialism ultimately becomes 'racist' against the individual. Oppression is inescapable. We will always be controlled by language, our social interactions, our needs to survive, and our environment. There is no escape even in death our body is subject to the whims of others on how it is disposed within the traditions and legislation that governs such disposal and our legacy whether material or our story will be at the whims of others to interpret, remember and forget as they will. It does not matter what system of government is used the very concept of to govern is oppression. Capitalism, socialism, totalitarianism, even anarchy... all oppressive. As Brand suggests, in the beginning there was one... but the One thought, 'why am I here?' ...and then there were three - that which thinks, that which is thought upon, and the desire to know. The trinity and each is placed in an unequal balance of power - that which governs, that which is governed, and that which consumes. And then there is no way back to the One because in attempting to do so, you feed desire and desire is the cause of suffering. Desire is the fundamental root of capitalism. Thus as depressing as it sounds, the only route to happiness is acceptance... which is why I choose not to be happy.
Nymeria Meliae I think much of what you say, though worded with a sweet cadence, is vacuous and incorrect. Socialism has never really been tried (at least not in the past couple of centuries) because it is incompatible with capitalism. Free market ideals are spewed forth but no 'market' has ever been 'free' from control, that idea is a myth. Genuine Communism has been tried on a limited scale - please don't say China, Soviet Union, etc were communist as that is such an obvious fallacy - in places like Cuba for example (higher literacy rates, lower infant mortality rates, etc) and has been, from a social perspective, beneficial. The problem is people like yourself put socialism on such a pedestal that whenever something does fail (which inevitably happens in all political systems) it is used as an argument as to why such a system does not work. Why does both democracy and capitalism evade such intense scrutiny? Your pattered regurgitation of Foucault is interesting though you make the mistake of thinking quoting/using Foucault heightens an argument. Foucault is a man who criticises everything about the modern day social system from prisons to mental health to education to politics but who never offers an answer. He is also a theorist who operates from a niche, Western perspective: I agree with some of the things he says but politically he has no authority [edit: rather than no authority I should say he has no more authority than anybody else, that's just how it appears to a lot of people]. To equate being 'governed' to oppression is in all honesty juvenile - the problem is the system of governance, how that power is used now, why it is used in a way that negates the will of the majority, how capitalism impacts on that system of governance and the people governed, etc etc - how governance and systems of power work, and how they can be changed for the better, would be a far more interesting debate than a 'governed = oppression' stand point which serves only to polarise without actually adding anything of substance to an incredibly complicated problem. "Oppression is inescapable. We will always be controlled by language, our social interactions, our needs to survive, and our environment" - this is the sort of bile that really annoys me. Everything is always brought down to a basic, primal level of 'we are all animals thus we are at the mercy of our urges, environment, language, etc' - this is horse shit and so generalised that is becomes meaningless i.e. we are controlled because we must drink water....mind numbingly basic perspective. Language is a means of knowledge, of education, of being able to transmit a message different from the one sold to people every single day through lies, deceit and self interest. I understand why your view of the world is so cynical but to be so cynical of people is wrong and does a disservice to great swathes of the global population. By saying that oppression is inescapable you become complicit in it - my guess is, in the grand scheme of things, that you are not near the bottom of the oppression pyramid right? It's easy to say things like oppression in inescapable when the oppression you live under is a mild inconvenience rather than a life altering horror.... To be less polemic when those other things so tacit in control (environment, need to survive, etc) are so much easier to come by its easy to talk about control and oppression in such simple, binary terms - your point of view is one of privilege (relatively speaking) and one which accepts the global-social imbalance as one of necessity. Sad. That blasé attitude of compliance is the exact same message capitalism drills into people and is what gives people the feeling of its ever present nature. NEWSFLASH capitalism isn't organic or natural or even that old. Its a man made system that is badly misappropriated so that a small percentage of people have a good quality of life and and huge percentage of people get shit on - what has happened circa 2014 is that governments (allegedly democratically elected) are in liege and in fact bending to the whims of capitalist measures rather than to the whims of the people. This is a fucking mutant democracy and amoral (as it has to be) capitalism. Change will come from the oppression. You say oppression is inescapable - strong words which I think ring hollow - but let me ask you this: if you had to live in moderately oppressed England or brutally oppressed Somalia where would you choose? We both know the answer. Oppression is escapable (at least political/social oppression...not sure if the oppression of needing to eat and drink water to live is). The whole mind set needs to change, the idea of an inescapable oppression (which I am sure is what manifest as apathy in many people) needs to stop, people do have the power... using it is the crux of the matter. [not sure what your paragraph about death was all about - if you're dead you're dead and nothing that happens past that point matters to you. If the government take your body and feed it to pigs so what? I don't mean to be crass but your point makes no sense.] "The trinity and each is placed in an unequal balance of power - that which governs, that which is governed, and that which consumes" - again you are making the mistake of regarding capitalism as an ever present, eternal power just because it has been around for a few centuries. Capitalism requires infinite growth (which is impossible) which should be enough to let you know that it cannot be sustained - if you have even a basic look at history you can see that capitalism is, even for humanity, a remarkably recent phenomena. Linking it to personal spirituality is tenuous and I think intended to suit your own argument rather than form any semblance of reasoned argument or relation to reality. I think you also fail to distinguish between the effects capitalism has on the individual and the effects it has socially (which are vastly different). Desire is an important component of capitalism but it is not the only one nor is it the most important one. I know why you 'choose not to be happy' but instead why not choose to make a difference and to try and change things, that would surely be more productive. As for your commentary on happiness: happiness is subjective, who are you to define what happiness is or what its route entails?
everything is subjective... including oppression. I don't disagree with the sentiment of your argument but I do disagree with some of its conclusions. We cannot understand or comprehend the world except through language. It is thus the source of all power. The simple noun is one of the most primitive examples of politics. Who gets to label what and who? To simply dismiss the role of language in politics is to not understand politics. When I say that I choose not to be happy... I don't mean that I sit and wallow in misery. I am very pro-active in trying to change things for the better - simply commenting on a youtube video or some other forum is being pro-active, helping my neighbours is being pro-active, but I am much more involved in politics that such simple actions. I can help bring forth a sense of sharing and helping each other but ultimately it will lead to oppression. You see it all the time, it is inescapable. Those who seek change will eventually seek to impose it on those who do not want to change. Sure there is a big difference between the threat of violence and the poor in the UK but is not driving the poor to breaking point also not instigating the eventual threat of violence. Peaceful protest is an illusion. Police antagonism often leads to violence. Practices such as kettling peaceful protest, preventing protests from being seen by the rich and powerful by banning protest in parliament square and the city (out of sight, out of mind)... often results in violence. Sure it is not the same as being dragged from your bed in the middle of the night, but it is violence nonetheless. Having your photo taken by police, having a file made up of your protesting activities, finding yourself black marked... may not be in the same light as disappearing in the night but it is still a form of control to prevent protest against the elite and greedy. True... in the UK I am at the bottom of the pyramid. I am trapped by legislation in a job that pays less than unemployment benefit. Married to an 'immigrant' and living in the UK's poorest area in terms of investment, average wage, and job opportunities. I am not adverse to moving away for work but regional and age prejudice makes that unlikely. I have sat on enough committees to realise that the do-gooders are often just as oppressive in their zeal as those who do it for greed. There is always an agenda that deprives someone of power and affords it to another. It never stops at equality because the language used always emphasises difference and special treatment. The sentiment is often brilliant and applause worthy but they are trapped in the language of their own oppression and thus can never escape it. Just a quick example... the second you say that women should be equal to men, or that blacks should have the same opportunities as whites... you become trapped in a language that emphasises difference and thus equality can never be achieved. But say you were to express yourself in such language that suggests all humanbeings should be equal and afforded the same opportunities... you are emphasising similarity and commonality... equality will not be achieved because of the power between speaker and listener, but at least it is a step better than the previous attempt. The next time you hear a politician speak just look out for such language... especially concerning 'immigrants', 'muslims', 'the Irish' etc. Is it not depressingly funny that a politician whose mother is Dutch or whose great grandfather is German can be accepted as British but someone whose family have been living in the UK for three or more generations is still considered an immigrant... it is not skin tone because Irish, Jews and East Europeans are all fine examples of this hidden oppression. As for capitalism... preaching to the converted there. At no point have I agreed or support capitalism. I had the flaws of capitalism worked out decades ago as a child and others had it worked out before I was born. The easiest argument against capitalism is that in seeking to maximise profit you deprive your own market of the means to buy your produce. But the consumption of resources and the need for waste are also very good valid arguments. But we don't need to live in an either/or paradigm between socialism and capitalism...replacing one system with the other is not necessarily the best option available. The way in which socialism is being portrayed in this argument requires the capitalist other as its anti-thesis - in other words it cannot exist outside the language of capitalism and is thus doomed to failure before it is even tested.
Nymeria Meliae It's actually incredibly simple. Stop using outdated labels. Stop using any labels at all. Live by your heart not by logic. What am I saying?! But actually, logic can be a fools paradise when you try to simplify into words a concept like our human existence. Every time a label is used like 'socialism' 'dualism' etc.etc. you're just talking about someone's outdated views on a culture that existed hundreds of years ago, who do not have the wisdom or the resources we do now. It is used by capitalists to create a straw man argument. Stop thinking in terms, especially old concepts it's not progressive or intelligent.
It's very ironic that this show hosts very radical and transcendental discussions about ideas, yet bleeps out particular sounds that are culturally regarded as "bad." It's just a word of expression, let it go. It's like advocating movement into the future, but holding onto archaic beliefs.
How old would the kids be? 5? I can pretty much promise that either the kid will have a hard time understanding the video in general or they will have already heard the word at school or somewhere else, lol. Besides, it's just a sound, it's only "bad" because we make it bad. It is harmless if nobody reacts to it.
Point taken. I just think either way its not a big deal. One day that kind of censorship will cease. I'm sure they have their reasons. I'm just glad to see more people talking about things that really matter.
Individualism is the only real way. If the whole deemed Russell Brand couldn't have his long hair or had to shave his beard or button his shirt, you'd see how quickly he'd be for the individual.
I think your concentrating on the image of individualism rather than the awareness of their mind, if we all collectively became aware then individualism wouldn't be important.
Amiel Walia consider for a moment the ideas of isms and ity's ity's are ways of doing things, they are flexible and infinite in their creative interperation and the way they can be expressed. isms are essentially doctrines, still flexible to interpretations by their ists (followers) but are quite restricted to their dogmas and rules.. does this new information help change your perspective?
Pretty funny guy. I think he has discovered some truth, that's awesome but it's very obvious for anyone that has half a brain that the key to human collective freedom is brotherly love, the sad reality is that we don't fucking love each other. So seeing that is the case what are we left with except reality. And reality IMO is that we are put here by some power which whatever that has not been created but exist in a way that our human brains can't comprehend and whatever that power is wants us to experience a world with good and evil existing together, I like to think that the purpose(In that my mind grasp for reason and purpose) of us experiencing this is for contrast in that if we were created in a state of consciousness that has no concept of good and evil and it was in a state where there is no evil and the results of it such as pain , suffering and death then even though we were in paradise or heaven we wouldn't know it without first knowing evil and the results of it. So, perhaps this experience brings context to existence. Am I saying by this to give up or let evil reign, no I'm saying that we don't have the freewill to do anything we are having this experience done to us by whatever God is and that we are going to do what we are going to do, those who desire to do good will seek it and those who desire to do evil will do that but it's all from God for God's purpose, so enjoy the ride, it's on the house. LOL. This is a magnificent wondrous experience! When I see the visible universe how massive creation must be I am in awe of the creator's power and intelligence and I can't help but hope and feel and believe that this power is Good and we have nothing to worry about except this current struggle for resources and all the troubles and concerns attached to having consciousness that has been fused with a biological living organism that is dying but there is nothing that can save us from this physical dying experience so if we are able to embrace this life and the unstoppable consequences of physical existence and death then it's very beautiful but if we struggle against this process it is painful.
You're brilliant, mate! We can only learn and understand ideas and concepts that have opposing concepts. I like to think of it as the relativity perspective. How are we lost if we were never found?
I love how he tapped his glass before he drank it, me and a few others have been doing it naturally as well. Raise the vibration of all thoughts and ideas ✌️
Why is this being presented as a new idea, when in fact it is just another paradigm of socialist/mysticism? Like all forms of mysticism it depends on faith and abstractions that cannot be concretised because they're subjective. There is nothing new here. It is still an idea that involves the use of force over others. Brand claims to be anti-individualism, whilst talking about the self, because he sees all selves as one. He is full of philosophical contradictions. I love his comedy and articulation, he is a very intelligent man. Sadly he's premises are immoral, and even more sadly so are most people.
I'd agree that socialism can be much more destructive than capitalism (just look at the current state of the EU). Mr. Brand seems to enjoy embellishing his message with a certain level of mysticism. If you decipher his messages he's spot on though. We have separated ourselves too much. And is it really a contradiction that he's anti-individualism and believes in a sense of self? We are the products of our environment, we are completely interrelated. But we also have our own voice, and we can use it to promote peace, war or anything inbetween. Brand may be quite extreme in his views, but at least he's shaking people up, and I would say in the right way. He really should reconsider his position on socialism though. It reduces your freedoms- you HAVE to give large amounts of your income to a bloated, inefficient and inevitably corrupt state. The reality check that is financial meltdown is coming. Fortunately. I'd also agree that many of these new age, mystical, often religious individuals are annoyingly ignorant to the reality of our problems. This has discredited spirituality as a legitimate part of daily life. It really does change your perspective. Being entirely present and removing ego is a very worthwhile experience, I highly recommend it. I can examine my faults in a much more honest and constructive way.
Just to clarify and define a few things without going into detailed analysis. There is a difference between Egoist and Egotist, the later having an inflated/delusional opinion about his self, whereas the former acknowledges his self as his highest value. The individualist ought to be clarified as well. He is moral if, and only if he uses a rational self-interest to determine good from evil. In short, Good is that which sustains life and evil, that which diminishes, subjugates or destroys it. This is the Virtue of Selfishness (book of the same name). The misconception is that a world dominated by individualists would be unable to cooperate with each other. This is a fallacy but further clarification on this point is rather lengthy. If a man is to live morally he must accept that he uses his own rational mind as the dominant guide to his actions and that he neither apply force or coercion to other men, nor accepts their right to do so to him. Men will trade with each other voluntarily, exchanging value for value, both materialistically and "spiritually" (emotion). Benevolence is good and proper if it is a choice, but should not be seen as the highest value. Altruism is not the same thing at all, as it declares that you must aim to put others before yourself. This is an evil attack on self-esteem. Hope that is informative and provides a little clarity on my thinking.
In the words of the dude in the movie The Big Labowski, "Yeah well, man that's your opinion." Which is the short version of "I totally disagree with you on every plane of existence. Your opinion is lacking in ways too numerous to touch upon herewith."
Great film btw. What does it mean to you when you talk of every plane of existence? Surely my being, meaning my very existence itself is such a "plane". So you can't mean my own existence, else who are you writing to? You mean perhaps, every aspect of my thinking? Accept your words imply you believe in more than one plane of existence (as does RB). But these "other" existences are beyond your grasp of proof as they depend on faith. This brings me to your view (whim) that my opinion is lacking. Lacking what? "To(o) numerous to touch on herewith" If you cannot show evidence of other planes of existence, then by default your opinion is lacking, lacking evidence. I will identify the difficulty you are having. You use your emotions as a guide to your actions/judgement. You enjoy the feelings you experience from ideas that explore various forms of mysticism. These come in many forms; God(s), multi-universes, unearthly energy forces of consciousness, State representation of social consensus, to name a few. Take your pick. You hold "the unknown" as a value, which can be extrapolated to a zero; nothingness. For you that holds nothingness as a value as validated by your emotions, not your reasoning mind, you are unable to formulate an objective rational disagreement with any view that exposes it. You will ask someone like me to use reason to disprove a faith related matter, meaning you would want me to use proof to prove a non-proof. To use existence to prove a non-existence, or to take an Aristotelian paradigm, an A to prove a non-A. The truth is, you object to my opinion because it doesn't "feel" nice. To that I can only say, I'd prefer you kept YOUR feelings to yourself.
Avidcomp Come one bro'. That is way too much shit to read. You talk too much and think too little. Know what I mean? Sorry man, I didn't read all that shit, but at least you got to hear yourself write it.
As prophecised by David Bowie, I am one of many star men who was waiting in the sky and I have come from Mars to tell you all that there is life on Mars, though it's not detectable from this frequency plain. I hope I don't blow your minds, but you've been driving your mamas and pappas insane and now it's time to face the strange ch-changes, so I think the time's right to inform you pretty things that you are all gods, though you're absolute beginners when it comes to making your own realities ;) Please make some nice, unique, harmonious and balanced worlds (they will remain abstract and imaginery while you are incarnated in this shared schoolyard called Earth, but once you graduate with your diplomas in unconditional love, non-judgement and unquestioning acceptance, you'll be able to experience them firsthand and live lifetimes there and invite others to experience them too), so make them appealng and I might come for a visit and spend a "cosmic day" experiencing the worlds you have created. In the meantime, here's some light reading: blog.b92.net/text/23420/The-Great-Shift/
Bruce Black Mr. Black, all one must do is look at countries that have had communism. There will always be an elite class, and those who are not included will be serfs, plain and simple. To confuse communism with sharing and freedom is ludicrous. IMHO
That's your opinion, but it's wrong. Communism is not what he wants, that is what you immediately jump towards because as a person probably from the USA if its not capatilism, its communism, or facism, or marxism. Can't you see that it can be neither of those and it is possible to strive for a community where everybodies needs are met and it isn't discreditted and labelled instantly. All it takes is enough activism.
Jam Led Sorry, I have heard him promote communism every time I've watched him. He clearly states it. I don't disagree with people having needs met, but it comes with a huge price to all. Many people don't value things that they haven't earned, and were just given. I am a nurse and I understand needs. I also believe people must try to support and work for themselves, no matter the job/label. True satisfaction is doing a job and doing it well. IMHO
I can agree with you in some parts of that. I also beleive there is a bigger picture that neither you or myself are seeing and it doesn't involve communistic or capalistic beleifs, it involves humanity aiding itself, which at the moment is the complete opposite of we are doing and again labelling people in such groups is only gonna further the conflict that is destroying the social welbeing of our people aswell as the planet we live on. People do value things they earn, so lets work for a better planet, with better people and a better look on the future and then value that.
Will I have to cancel if I decide not to keep it? Because, you see Gaia, I'm extremely forgetful, and also living below the poverty level. So, I don't do these things. It's just a dream of mine ;)
like russell brand said, blaming the terrible things that governments have done on them being Marxist societies is like blaming Steve Jobs for the fact that he looks at porn on his ipad. Also like he said marx never meant for his ideas to be used by third world countries. I personally don't think communism is a good system and that we don't need a fully socialist society but that capitalism needs some socialist ideas so that people don't start getting squashed, like me and many other lower middle class families currently are in america and other first world countries at the moment.
"capitalism needs some socialist ideas" that what we already have, we have a regulated capitalism, we are not in the industrial revolution anymore remember?
IΔN ĐΔฬŞØN I agree. It's been quite hard to watch this every time that person laughs. I feel bad for admitting it but the word 'hyena' kept coming to mind.
Hey Lincoln. Did that Edward guy delete his own post? I assume he did if I can't find it. I also assume that the post you replied to with my comment long ago is gone. I definitely used up too much time trying to find that old post, I must be really bored.
MetaDaniel He was quite over the top with his Bible thumping. I honestly don't mean to put anyone down in all fairness- I just think God gave us the ability to think and interpret, etc. and this poor man wasn't looking past what was right in front of him.
I love how Brand comes off like a very egotistical person but completely listens to both of these guys and learns from Eve as she talks and you can tell he just gets it.
I don't think socialism will work. It will stifle creativity. I am a fabricator/ inventor. If there is no private property I would have to go to a buericrat [sic] to secure materials to create/ invent something. I build things in my mind first, then I through, trial and error bring them to fruition. Some of my Ideas I do not want to share until they are completed (for obvious reasons)Frankly, some of my Ideas don't work. Buericrats[sic] simply are not the type of people that possess vision. I should not have to ask anyone for permission to be creative.
Any socialism that happens now needs to be scientific. What we have now is scientifically unsustainable. So you getting materials for your inventions would be based on many things, but it would not be controlled by individuals, coporations, or buericrats. Things need to be allined with the natural law and be sustainable. "Individual wants" of some are not more important than the "individual needs" of others. You should realise there are many socialist models. Some work and some dont. But the system we have is totally un-scientific, ignores natural laws and has been proven to be unsustainable.
simon Kitt Like the USSR v. USA? I prefer Leaving people alone. I don't think I'm so smart as to want to dictate how people live their lives or what they can and can't do as well as have and can't have. I'm also not so full of jealousness and envy and hate that when I see someone rich I wish the government to take what they have by force. In socialism the powerful get rich. In capitalism the rich get powerful. And only in Capitalism can anyone get rich if they themselves work for it.
***** So socialist governments are poor? In American government, most if not all politicians are millionaires. Every national government that isn't free-market capitalism destroys the creativity and ingenuity of society, creates poverty, and destroys public education by creating lesson plans that are nothing but propaganda. The entire phrase is true. In socialism an elite, albeit narcissistic "we're smart so we have to make your decisions for you", few control society while getting ridiculously rich off the taxation and theft of their citizens. In Capitalism anyone can become rich and gain power. But only a strong constitution, which has been destroyed by democrats and rino republicans, can prevent rich citizens from gaining political power and use government to get what they want. Don't tell me I'm lying. Fact is fact. Read a history book, oh wait they all teach victimology and liberal progressivism.
It'd work; you'd just have to be prepared to share what you create with everyone, rather than keep it for yourself and claim ownership of it for some sort of personal gain or recognition. The consumer inside demands you think up fantastic ideas and use them for profit; the inner guru knows that all you really want, ultimately, is to be loved for what you're doing / have done / will do, but because that love by itself won't pay the bills or buy you food, the consumerist beast speaks louder and is usually the easier, quicker option. Socialism is the difference between the wondrous smiles of an amazed crowd or another $100,000 cheque for the bank. Creativity doesn't have to have a price tag.
Roy Batty That only works if it's voluntary. Actual socialism that really exist creates poverty and has resulted in the deaths of over a hundred million people in the last 110 years that we know of. Profit drives innovation. People that are free from the chains of Marxist governments and who wish to do so will create and not care about profit sure. But when government forces it, it becomes slavery. Your last paragraph is a utopian dream, a complete ignorance of reality and a lie. Sorry
Or perhaps she just has a distinct, loud laugh that she can't help and therefore embraces with love? Maybe we should do the same - which is the meaning of this discourse.
Isn't anyone else tired of all of this baby talk about "revolution"? We're in big trouble if the best the public can do is hoist upon it's shoulders an intellectually shallow, fast-talking, no sense-making third-rate comedian.
is his soul lost to himself or something/someone else? if it's the first, how did you manage to locate your own? if the second, who or what is it that is supposed to find our souls?
I'm sorry paul. I'm not tired of Brand's ideas, what I'm tired of is the corporitism that creeping into our govenrments disguising itself as free market, patriotism, democracy, etc.
Stacy McMillan you know he probably makes more than politicians haha also you clearly think the world is being destroyed and 3 billion people aren't suffering from poverty. why persecute him for pointing that out. i guess you are transfixed on the sparkly lights of consumerism. hopefully you will respect your own intelligents soon enough to watch an infomercial and see how fucked it is.
Now don't shoot me down in flames, but I think Russell has changed so much for the better, can't help but feel he has been through the wars and has come out swimming above the water, He is becoming well loved by the nation for all he puts in he has his harvest to feast, in my opinion, keep up the good work Russell
Relationships Satisfy,, Healthy ones,, people who will listen to you, give you room to be and feel without needing to be and feel what THEY want, That's Freedom and real Love
25:05 Look at Russell's reaction =] shot of empathy straight from the core to the heart!
Russell is a brilliant light, grateful to have this delightful person helping us to wake the f***k up!
I just realised he is so amazing to deliver a spiritual message with humour. You have got a new fan 🤩🤗
Absolute 🎯
if you really LISTEN to Russell Brand your mind will open , this guy knows what hes talking about and is very smart.
Okay
I rarely come away from a video like this feeling so GOOD. Thank you all for your insights
terrybo8 yss
+Isabella Basteri you're fabulous and anyone who might read this: SENDING LOVE OUT TO YOU ALL!
Go Russell! You're amazing. We are all one. Namaste.
+Kategan i know we are one counsiousness! but i have not felt it yet! that genuine feel! maybe i will in the future!
+AKSHAY KARTHIK than meditate Daily or take some shrooms or other psychedelics. :)
+AKSHAY KARTHIK meditate Daily or take some shrooms or acid or other psychedelics.
yamaha power :) dmt :D
FORGET THE MESSENGER AND LISTEN TO THE MESSAGE.
Okay
Russell Brand I absolutely adore watching videos of you. Watching you makes me see the things that I love about myself.
Russel Brand is a true role model for humanity and a good bet on a future conscious being of this world.
No he isn't. He is a commie telling you the "commie fairy tale" Watch Charles Mason tell you what the NWO is for. It's about 1 min long. He states if you gotta have WORLD CONTROL and that is what Russell Brand wants.
If he wanted world control he'd run for president or any other high ranking official
Daniel Pinchbeck is a truly great host for a show like this.. I am looking forward to seeing more
I like Russell because he is real and doesn't need a question asked to say what he needs to say. He's teaching love, the highest way of life.
How can anyone listen to Russell for ten minutes or less and not realize the man is pure genius! Wish I could be so connected!
a recent study was done where random people were given certain amounts of money, sometimes 5$ 10$ or 20$. half were told to spend it on themselves and the other to spend it on someone else. afterwards they took a small survey to measure how "happy" they were with how their day went, and crazy enough the people who were told to spend the money on someone else invariably felt "happier".
Double bind here; essentially the take home message is STILL spending money makes you happy
You're reading into the language too deeply. It's more conceptual. The concept of giving versus the concept of taking.
gifting is a universal sign of positivity, if people keep showing positivity to arseholes it will have a knock on effect unless the arsehole has deep psychological promblems rooted in a bad childhood etc in which case more thorough psychoanalysis and treatment will be needed to help them change, everyone is born feral but we can all become civilized, culture is everything.
Brand might be a genius.
A stooge for the Rothschild's Banking Cartel and international socialists. He will help push us into world socialism cementing the common man in poverty. History will repeat itself for the last time.
The Karl Marx of our day.
baxtar1963 A genius would know religion, spirituality, and the ideas of god he's perpetuating are total bullshit and part of the old system of control.
Steve Macleod And you know he's a stooge for the Rothschilds, how?
Thank you so much for spreading your findings. Checking it out now.
Really appreciate you man.
it would be hard now with how economies etc have been set up but people like Russel should have been world leaders from the beginning. I am sure the world would be a better place!
One of the best of Russell Brand interviews...
I find it sad that this doesn't have a lot of views because people don't think they have enough time to watch 30 minutes. However, I am happy for having watched it. So I feel pretty even right now.
The more awake (not woke) the longer your attention span.
One of the best discussions I've ever had the privilege to listen to - certainly thought-provoking, inspiring and convincing.
This was absolutely great. So much truth, it makes you happy!
StringQuartetFan He told her “she was a little bit sexy” 🤔 ?
@@classygary I think she was low-key trying to get in the limo
Knowledge speaks wisdom listens
True yet they're all speaking over each other and missing a great opportunity to collaborate.
11:21 is something Christianity also says. It’s really good life advice. Whatever gifts you have been bestowed, they can be used for good.
12:43 you be you. Well put.
What a brilliant conversation between three great minds/hearts!
You raise an important point; I strongly agree.
Thank you.
Mr. Brand please keep speaking your truth!!!!!!!!!
Lots of women and police officers also want to here a bit of truth from Mr Brand
Russel brand is a fucking genius and everything he says is absolutely 100% true.
Hes fantastic at absorbing information, but nothing he has said hasn't be said for decades. Still don't make me like him less or think he is any less bright though. He sure is making a difference in preaching what the problems are and he might not have all the answers but more people that know better chance to fix this shit system we exist in.
dannyboy19811 of course, but he is so INCREDIBLY articulate its ridicolous
He has a great language center that's for sure.
dannyboy19811 He probably reads all the time
Lynch Smith
no doubt.
This is a wisdom of not being selfish, and feel and interact with other energies that we cannot decieve by our senses but only throw the conecction of the moment of now, the moment of unknown. And thats the beauty of spirituality.
Long live and grow spirit soul like this.
The eternal present. 🙏
I don't doubt it. The more interviews I watch with him, the more that becomes absolutely apparent.
Get rid of all the politicians and put these 3 people in charge...
1. Russell Brand
2. Peter Joseph
3. Elon Musk
Ben Stolz I would, if I was as smart and articulate as Peter and Russell.... and if I was as brilliant as Elon Musk.
Let's call them "guides"
'Guide' definition
"A person who leads others to more abstract goals such as knowledge or wisdom."
"There are no shortcuts in evolution."
~ Louis D.
Please add me on Facebook so I can educate you and steer you in the right direction. ;)
-Robert Peter , critical thinker, construction worker.
All very nice, but I believe the crucial component of this video is that we have created for ourselves a paradigm of endless growth, yet we live on a planet that has finite resources. We can argue over the rest of it ad nauseam, but there, shining down upon us, is an undeniable, potent truth that requires our immediate attention.
i dont care what happens as long as RUSSELL BRAND is there
You dumb, you real DUMB!
Cupid Stunt
Look who's opening their sheeple keyboard ...
Brilliant Russell......love u, your beautiful spirit and passion. Keep doing what you are doing! Amen and blessings! Xo Rachel
Agreed............. but don't belittle those that are NOT AWAKE yet......... empower others.
I keep going back & forth from 5 yrs ago & further back to today. What a huge difference in demeanor, but I love both ❤
I wish Russell would expand his mind to the next level of consciousness and leave our level alone.
No one is forcing you to listen to him.
Khaled Adad my mind is wide open...that's how I came across his pointless ramblings.
reints74 Be careful of the open wideness of your mind. It could fall off your brain.
Bruno Lopes not pointless. not pointless at all.
"I just remember being there and these people weren't affording me the most basic courtesies". Definitely, more to the man than I previously considered. Touché, Russell... much peace, love and appreciation.
"I'm not a person who can live in will or desire, I have to live to learn to look within myself."
Will or desire.
Here's an idea:
Keep the title "God" out of it.
If you need a title for this thing you're trying to describe, you can simply make one up. You don't need to cause confusion by using one that's not only already very much in use but used by *many* millions of people to describe a very specific, thoroughly outlined, deity.
Lu Chen Well Lu, God is the central idea "within" it.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. don't get caught up in determining a name; just stop and smell the flowers. ;)
Jack Spade @ there cores all Religions tell us that we are one and God exists in us all but a lot miss the point so we end up with BS
Absolutely loved and absorbed this subject. Late last year, I initiated a self-growth program for myself called The Art of Soaring. I like what Eve said about "the fallen. Who made that up? Maybe we're rising!" I there.
Russell is probably the only person who makes me feel slightly proud to be from essex ;)
That was the calmest, friendliest interview someone has done with Russell that I've seen. Usually they try to interrupt him, or make him out to be the bad guy.
namaste
Go Russell! I'm on your team. More love less fear is a great mix I think. Helping with the spiritual cleanse!!
My god, that woman laughing every time, it hurts my fucking brain.
EDIT: I mean the woman in the crowd of course.
I shared your pain! :(
hectorae86 I read your comment and NOW I can only hear that lady laughing
LOL what's wrong with her?
well woman that's a bit to much :P
this made me laugh too much
its a jackal
this is because of the moment she laughts in the end of brands sentence and he pays attention to her , and she saw that , and tryd to get more of it .good english sorry
He does know the answers to all questions and he does ask them!
wow I love that they mentioned Australian Aboriginals.. As I am one myself! :-D
Aborigines of Australia are relatives of the Austronesians in Southeast Asia.. We are very connected to the graceful Orang Utan of Borneo...
I Love this! 26:00 is my favourite part, Change Through Peaceful Resistance!
H'e a GOOD guy! Both of them are good guys.
Sham Pain LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Again, I'm blown away by Russell. Well done
ET said it best...beeeee...goooood!
love from Ireland russell ! Keep doing what your doing
That's what Zeitgeist is about, right? A resource based economy.
“They talk about a life of brotherly love ... show me someone who knows how to live it” -Bob Dylan ...
“Slow Train Coming”
Ps - I'm smashed, excuse the repetition and grammar please :D
Why do you even care? What a shallow inconsequential comment.
lusts4live You must be that woman with the annoying laugh.
lusts4live
Because it is very distracting, almost disturbing, as clearly stated in my initial comment. Are you simple or something?
is fucking annoying
Absolutely love Russell brand, so intelligent and loving xx
That's Jabba the Hut's mate in the audience.
Gray Beard sounds like the joker 😂👎
This show was awesome! Great guests, much kindness and love to all. xx
Well said!
Hmm dont know if being sarcastic or nice. (picture fry's from futurama meme) But if you were being nice, I thx you sir. (bows gracefully).
david Well the British Labour Party was founded by a Christian Bible Preacher in a church!
Both Eve and Russell talk about "connection"...and the most important connection is that which we make with our mother...Mother Earth.
the problem is that socialism is just as oppressive as capitalism.
Thus as depressing as it sounds, the only route to happiness is acceptance... which is why I choose not to be happy.
cool
I don't mean to be crass but your point makes no sense.]
"The trinity and each is placed in an unequal balance of power - that which governs, that which is governed, and that which consumes" - again you are making the mistake of regarding capitalism as an ever present, eternal power just because it has been around for a few centuries.
Well done, both of you proved that you are masters of deconstruction.
The beautiful work of these 3 !
It's very ironic that this show hosts very radical and transcendental discussions about ideas, yet bleeps out particular sounds that are culturally regarded as "bad." It's just a word of expression, let it go. It's like advocating movement into the future, but holding onto archaic beliefs.
calm down, maybe parents want their kids to see this but they don't want them to learn those words yet. its not a big deal.
I totally agree. :) I just think that our society is silly and holds very trivial convictions, sometimes.
Me too. Were in the middle stages of new thought.. kind of like when science turned religion on its ass.
Aaaaamazing- thoroughly enjoyed this video!!!! Gotta love that Russell Brand
I think you are confusing individualism with 'individuality'.... there's a distinction between the two
...says you, as for myself I make no such distinction.
StopTheMorons sorry the above comment was aimed at you.
Agree w Russel ~ Daniel Pinchbeck is such an affable fellow and great host!!
I like turtles.
who doesn't?
turtles like me
🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🔫
I want to hug a turtle.
So glad to know that you belong to the spiritual community of the awakening souls.
Isn't he a funny, honest genius?
This blew my mind. I love how fast paced this was!
Thanks brother!
Russell needs to be my professor. I can learn more from him than anyone in an academic institution
As prophecised by David Bowie, I am one of many star men who was waiting in the sky and I have come from Mars to tell you all that there is life on Mars, though it's not detectable from this frequency plain. I hope I don't blow your minds, but you've been driving your mamas and pappas insane and now it's time to face the strange ch-changes, so I think the time's right to inform you pretty things that you are all gods, though you're absolute beginners when it comes to making your own realities ;)
Please make some nice, unique, harmonious and balanced worlds (they will remain abstract and imaginery while you are incarnated in this shared schoolyard called Earth, but once you graduate with your diplomas in unconditional love, non-judgement and unquestioning acceptance, you'll be able to experience them firsthand and live lifetimes there and invite others to experience them too), so make them appealng and I might come for a visit and spend a "cosmic day" experiencing the worlds you have created. In the meantime, here's some light reading:

M Pullen will you help me please
wow, seen 6 minutes already and have to stop and come back, russell your great, will be back to finish another time.
He is nuts! He is for communism yet hates being controlled. Does he have a clue?
Jam Led Agreed!
I loved that. It makes me want to get a subscription to Gaia.
You can try your first month of Gaia for just $0.99! www.gaia.com/plan-selection
Will I have to cancel if I decide not to keep it? Because, you see Gaia, I'm extremely forgetful, and also living below the poverty level.
So, I don't do these things. It's just a dream of mine ;)
How can this human filth have only 27 dislikes? I do not get it,
I put that one there I think...
if you're calling him filth then you obviously don't get the point everything being said.
I was born in a communist country and I was able to escape. He and you are the ones that do not get the point.
like russell brand said, blaming the terrible things that governments have done on them being Marxist societies is like blaming Steve Jobs for the fact that he looks at porn on his ipad.
🌸Thanks for sharing this show🌸
That one woman with the howling laughter is cringy.
MetaDaniel that is so odd. I saw it. Now you are right, it's gone. He must have deleted it all.
ah what a waste haha I didn't expect to get a reaction and I was too late.
MetaDaniel He was quite over the top with his Bible thumping. I honestly don't mean to put anyone down in all fairness- I just think God gave us the ability to think and interpret, etc. and this poor man wasn't looking past what was right in front of him.
I love how Brand comes off like a very egotistical person but completely listens to both of these guys and learns from Eve as she talks and you can tell he just gets it.
ugh that loud person laughing in the background is so distracting.
I love watching body language and reading the energy in the room. Very interesting. There's a whole unspoken story here.
Sorry
Hes very good at constructing sentences isnt he. what a great man, an inspiration for us all.
Had to stop watching because of that laughing woman. 😑
So much attention seeking.
Or perhaps she just has a distinct, loud laugh that she can't help and therefore embraces with love?
Maybe we should do the same - which is the meaning of this discourse.
***** Aye true, should never judge people because you don't know what their going through! :)
That laugh is annoying though and occurs at weird times. That’s all I’m saying: it annoys me, for both these reasons.
Joey Levenson it is very annoying and inconsiderate of other ppl .. none should embrace such habits they should try and change them
I love truth threw humor! It's the best way to communicate!
Isn't anyone else tired of all of this baby talk about "revolution"? We're in big trouble if the best the public can do is hoist upon it's shoulders an intellectually shallow, fast-talking, no sense-making third-rate comedian.
Testing your critical thinking skills again. Stop your drunk and posting rants and get yourself into a 12 Step Program you lost soul.
is his soul lost to himself or something/someone else? if it's the first, how did you manage to locate your own? if the second, who or what is it that is supposed to find our souls?
Because insulting each other is the best way to resolve our differences?
Leo Segerström That''s some deep **** right there.
I'm sorry paul. I'm not tired of Brand's ideas, what I'm tired of is the corporitism that creeping into our govenrments disguising itself as free market, patriotism, democracy, etc.
Beautifully put!
A rambling charlatan.
Exactly
Stacy McMillan
I suppose it's natural for people who gain notoriety to speak above their pay grade.
Stacy McMillan you know he probably makes more than politicians haha
also you clearly think the world is being destroyed and 3 billion people aren't suffering from poverty. why persecute him for pointing that out. i guess you are transfixed on the sparkly lights of consumerism. hopefully you will respect your own intelligents soon enough to watch an infomercial and see how fucked it is.
Now don't shoot me down in flames, but I think Russell has changed so much for the better, can't help but feel he has been through the wars and has come out swimming above the water, He is becoming well loved by the nation for all he puts in he has his harvest to feast, in my opinion, keep up the good work Russell
Unintelligible nonsense, the lot of it.
they are Very long words
Nonsense from your POV not mine. Sense is only what YOU make of it!
stu2yk Unintelligible nonsense, the lot of it.
Broseph MG Wow. You repeated the sentence.
Very calculated and intricately crafted response indeed.
