Michael Holding was a hero of mine. The GOAT fast bowler, saw him play at Headingly and blew my mind - didn't see the balls leaving his hand. His plea on racism is fully justified and a message people of my generation need to reflect on. I'm 60 and white and would say it has been shameful that so much respect is belatedly owed to so many by so many.
I will never forget watching him and Marshall opening the bowling against India at Queen's Park Oval in Port-of-Spain. After they ended their spell, Garner and Roberts took over. It was the most dominant fast bowling foursome I have ever seen. To me, he had the most elegant run up as a fast bowler. I'm happy to see that he's using his fame to highlight some of society's ills. Humanity needs more like him 😇
