So glad somebody bootlegged this tape, so that we all could 'be there' with Red, Milton and all the guys who have passed. To those who are offended by this, remember that plenty of these guys worked both clean and dirty, depending on the venue, and this still happens today.
Meanwhile... over on the other channels... people are commenting on how clean and wholesome comedy used to be, and how crude today's comedians are... I always link them to this. ❤
I laughed so hard I think I cracked a rib or three. Growing up with Berle, Buttons, and the like, makes simply they idea that they would do blue material seem hysterical. But then to actually hear them do it! I wish there was an album or something with all these compiled. The ‘19.99 Call Now’ CDs are so cut up and whittled down that it’s just sad. This was beautiful!
The audio quality sucks! But at least the language proves that this is a REAL roast not one of those stupid Network TV roasts where everything is cleaned up and censored. And all the delicate little snowflakes who can't handle the blue jokes, it warns you right in the title that it's x-rated so why are you listening to it?
The year of this event really isn't relevant.Whats even more Interesting is that All these Comedians were Television Stars and Stand-Up Legends. They were.all members of the Friars Club, Obviously.Throughout their Public Successful Careers We had no idea that they used this type of Humor,In other words they were so Naturally Talented and Gifted They didn't have to stoop to or rely on Profanity and Insults to Entertain The Masses on TV and in Concert. These are Elite Members of A Private Club having Fun with One Another with Before A Private Audience of Adult Family and Friends.Sort of A Fundraiser to Support Their Club.At the time of these events there was Cable TV.None of This Material was ever intended for General Public Release for Any Reason. But they're are Deceased now and these Performances obviously have fallen into the wrong hands and made Public for Profit. But the Beauty of it All is None of The Comedians,Entertainers or Friar Club Members had no part in that.Though Comedians,Classy Comedians,.May They All along with Their Public Legacy Continue to Rest in Peace.Love&Peace😁😎 luv ya byo eJ 🎤
"Throughout their Public Successful Careers We had no idea that they used this type of Humor" That's because you weren't paying attention. I always laugh when I see all these "now this was great comedy, clean stuff, not stooping to vulgarity or innuendo like today's comedians." Yes, it was (and is) super comedy from these greats, but even in the censored and guarded network TV shows and events, they slipped all kinds of blue comedy in. Very little of the comedy from any of these amazing talents is truly sanitized or "clean." And why? Because so-called dirty humor and subjects are a basic part of the human experience and existence, so there's a lot of comedy to be mined there. And these comics were experts at it.
Why on earth are people downvoting this? Jeez, guys. So if someone posted on RUclips an hour and a half of a two hour long film everyone assumed was lost, you'd bitch at the guy that posted it for leaving the other half hour out, would you?
I am curious who is the individual that recorded this event and what year was this recorded. Since Mr. Berle made a joke in reference to Ms. Goldberg and Mr. Murphy, perhaps either in the 1980s or 1990s. I am not surprised with the amount of lewd jokes that I have heard from the first time with Mr. Berle and the other guests, but after listening to the recording I prefer clean humor.
Okay, I apologise what has happened to your friend. That is good this footage do exist despite the interesting dialogue, as the recording is historical.
@@artymowski Everybody did, including the women. I can't believe the people here complaining about it considering they warn us right in the title that it's X-rated so anyone would sensitive ears shouldn't be listening.
I guess I am a prude as I can’t enjoy this language from my childhood icons of comedy. This garbage is on the internet now as it is so I guess it is a shock to hear this type of language from Uncle Miltie. It just doesn’t fit my memories as a child of the 50’s. Could not listen to it.
They warned you in the title that it's X-rated, so why are you listening to it and then complaining? That's like going to an Indian or Szechuan restaurant, ordering something that says on the menu it's super duper spicy hot, and then complaining that it's too hot!

Red actually got his dinnah!
❤❤❤
You know this is going to be a roast for the ages when Uncle Miltie starts making "c" word jokes.
Meanwhile... over on the other channels... people are commenting on how clean and wholesome comedy used to be, and how crude today's comedians are...

They are, this was in a private club, as they frequently explained. No comparison.
I just feel badly for Red that he didn't get the A list comics, some were not even B or C List. But all were funny.
This shit is fucking gold I laughed so hard I fucking shit myself.
While you were sitting on your lover?
that's one hell of a circum-situation to be in....ha ...thanks Scott
This is the most I've laughed in months or years! 😂
I was there. I was there Milton.

Not sure what year this was done but somebody has to have a video out there somewhere. Please upload it if you have stashed away.
Berle is funny when he's not corny

Let me offer a contrary view. As someone who grew up among these comics, I'm enjoying this wonderfully vulgar celebration.
I'm pretty sure every comic here told up and coming young comedians "don't do blue. It's cheap"
It's true. Remove the blue words and they'd be much funnier.
If you havnt seen the milton berles memorial at the friars club you should. It was great
7:23 😂😂😂
First time I've heard the great Rich Little bomb!! Love "em though.
How come some of it was edited? They present a speaker and it jumps to the next presentation.
I don't know. I did no editing myself.
Thanks Scott for sharing this and perscribing
Milton Berle at his best.
@3:20, what am I missing? is there another roseanne barr I don't know about?
looks like this was 1958? cant be right though, she was only 6
Sounds like this was early 90's
Great picture. Guess they missed paying the electric bill.
It’s not a video

@Marc Petrie I know! It's hilariously naive.
What year was this ? 1970 ? There's a reference to Saddam Hussein by Donald O Conner. This must the early 1990s. 1991 according to Red Buttons.
1954
They also reference Whoopi Goldberg so late 80s early 90s most likely
This is what a roast is supposed to be!! FUNNY!!

Well, now we know!
1. Milton Berle.
2. Donald O'Connor.
3. Jan Murray.
4. Pat Buttram.
5. Dave Barry.
6. John Francis.
Rich Little bombed.
Does anyone out there actually think that uncle milty went down on a woman?

He was killed in a car wreck.
1954. A year before that was the roast masters roast.
