14/20 plus bonus. Couldn't recall 3 of the songs in time; know 1 sing name but not the band; and knew 2 bands but not the song titles. Thanks, Mister Quizster!
That was so much fun!!! These are all songs from my teenage years, when music was fun, happy, put a smile on your face. 17/20 and the bonus. I knew the artists but not the song title on two I missed and the title on the third but not the artist. Thanks you Mister Quizster. That was groovy!
7/20 And I Knew every song ?? But getting the name of the group was Brutal !! The test was memorable .. But the names were F** Brutal .. well played !! And I gave thumbs up to all the ones who did NOT get max !! WP !!
AHHHHHHH! you got me so good with the bonus question.. I know the song by heart and kept singing it but the band eluded me I went through all the hard driving bands of that era but all I could pull up was a picture in my mind of a semi truck.. then I had to look and of course BTO!!!.. Well the rest of the after noon is going to be spent with my records and my great old stereo set up. the all sound so good even after 50 year + of use Oh I got all the good songs but the disco stuff.. never was a fan.. thanks for the fun.. it truly was fun too...
3/20 no bonus for the group, 5/20 + bonus for name of song. Before my time so knew I wouldn't do well. A few of the songs I am sure I have never heard before.
From the clues in the lyrics, it's someone who owned a Leer jet that he flew to Nova Scotia on July 10, 1972, the day a total solar eclipse occurred on the island. The same person owned a thoroughbred horse, and shortly before the flight to Nova Scotia, he entered the horse in a race at Saratoga, which (naturally) finished first. Surely those are enough clues to identify the mystery man.
I got all songs and the bonus, but missed the very first group. I’ve known it my whole life, but just couldn’t come up with it (my mind kept going to Hal Macrae, the artist who did the first disco song The Hustle). Being born in 1969, these contests are the soundtrack of my childhood. And reading the comments makes me feel better that I’m not the only music trivia junkie out there. But I stand alone in my family. I’m usually met with blank stares when I start my trivia mode lol
I enjoyed it. 19/21. The two that I missed, I'd never heard of in Australia. (15 & 20). Has there ever been a decade with such variety in genres ? Rock, hard rock, soft rock, heavy metal, pop, bubblegum, glam, folk, disco, punk, new wave....did I miss any ?
Got 16/20 on this quiz, and the bonus BTO You Ain’t Seen Nothing, think it was in ‘78 when I bought my first record, not yet a teenager, but the Police, Queen, the Cars and the Romantics were some of my favourites, became a teenager shortly after the end of decade, some of the early stuff was things my parents listened to, I had a bit of trouble with the mid decade stuff, early decade was my parents, late decade mine, but mid decade, couldn’t name them.
"Music of the 70s" quiz. My favourite category so it should be easy. It wasn't! 7 out of 20 plus the bonus. Got a further 5 titles right but couldn't think of the artist and another 2 artists right but couldn't name the song. There were 3 more I knew really well but couldn't recognise at all from the short amount played. Finally there were 3 that I'm sure were never released in this country. In those days we got the best of the US, British and European hits, as well as our own (Australian) music so a lot of relatively minor hits in other countries never made it onto playlists here. Great quiz, but so frustrating.
Shoot! I forgot the name of "I Am Woman"; & I forgot that Wild Cherry sang "Play That Funky Music"; & the fact that Preston sang "Will It Go Down In Circles"; & I didn't know #20. Yes, now that I know who it is, I've heard the song, but that little clip just wasn't enough for me to recall it! Drum rooooooooollll - BTO !!! "You Ain't Seen Nothing" or "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet"
Hi Pierre. I appreciate the question. Unfortunately, due to copyright issues, if I play a longer clip, RUclips prevents me from using the song at all. Regarding the time gap, I have found that the majority of viewers finds 9 seconds to be just about right for all of my quiz formats.
I got 1 right! I guess I don’t know 70’s music that well… fun though! Is there a quiz about songs of the 40’s? Have a special interest when it comes to 40’s.
Not so good with the 70s as I was just a wee lad BUT I knew the songs but could not remember their names or misnamed them, so a measley 7 out of 20. I did get the bonus but forgot the artist.
OMG!! I did awful. The only one right was love will keep us together. The only one i.try to.avoid. at all costs. I don't know why it greats on my nerves. Just my opinion. Have a great day everyone
With 40 answers it is too hard to keep track of my score. Let's just say I knew both artist and song on some, only the artist on some and only the song on some. Still love the quiz though.
I hope you had fun with this Music of the 70s quiz. Thanks for playing!

I was born in 1951 - these songs were ALL I listened to and even to this day my favourite era. A piece of cake & loved this quiz!!
As long as you told us it was a "piece of cake" Thomlinson, that's all that matters ? Beat it.

19 1/2 plus the bonus missed the group on #5. Best decade of music by far.
Thanks Lucie. It was fun and happy, wasn't it?😊
Great era for music
I really enjoyed this one! My era, although the little grey cells worked overtime!
Got nearly all the ones that were hits in UK including bonus...good quiz mrQ 👍
14/20 & song only on the bonus. Kicking myself for #8 & my dad would kick me for missing #13 😂😂
Great one!
What a lovely qyuiz 😍 . 17/20. No bonus
19/20 plus the bonus. Only one I missed was #20. The 70's is my favorite decade for music. Great quiz!
Thanks Veronica👍😊
Damn...... I'm old......
I got 'em all including the bonus which was BTO You ain't seen nothin' yet.
Damn I'm old .....🤣
7/20 And I Knew every song ?? But getting the name of the group was Brutal !! The test was memorable .. But the names were F** Brutal .. well played !!
And I gave thumbs up to all the ones who did NOT get max !! WP !!
Bachman-Turner for the bonus. Got either the band or song title on all of them...
Got them all plus bonus
18/20 + bonus. Good quiz
Great quiz, bring on the 80's!!
Super fun! I played along with my mom, who was born in 1958. She missed a few, but funnily enough those were the ones I got right.
Glad to hear mom is a fan too😊👍
11/20 with no bonus. Not my best showing, but I was born in 1993 so I am surprised I am over .500 haha Thanks for the quiz!
AHHHHHHH! you got me so good with the bonus question.. I know the song by heart and kept singing it but the band eluded me I went through all the hard driving bands of that era but all I could pull up was a picture in my mind of a semi truck.. then I had to look and of course BTO!!!.. Thank you👍😊
9/20 no bonus. I knew the song but not the artist, I knew the artist but not the song!
13 plus the bonus.
thanks for a great quiz!
You're welcome, Dawn👍
Knew the songs, the bands, not so much. Good job, I like getting stumped, ...sometimes...
You stumped me on #15 and I missed the artist on #20!
Answer? No, no I dont remember them lol. 17 of a possible 42. Welp, 70's just aint my groove man
Love the music trivia. This one especially since I just got out of high school. Got most of the early 70s song and group.
I LOVE THE '70s!🥰🥰🥰
I got all the song titles and all of the bonus. Only missed one group (and 2 minutes from now I won't remember it).
3/20 no bonus for the group, 5/20 + bonus for name of song. Before my time so knew I wouldn't do well. A few of the songs I am sure I have never heard before.
Hopefully you'll do better in the 80s😊
Hey got 15 out of 20 and got my BTO bonus !! And who is Carly Simon singing about in you're so vain ??? 😉😉
At the time it was thought she was singing about James Taylor, but she's since denied that. She has said that it was partly about Warren Beatty.
The rumour was either Warren Beatty or Mick Jagger.
I think a number of years ago she revealed who it was, for a price, to the highest bidder.
That was fun, though only #20 took more than ~2 seconds. Remembering the group took a bit.
And the unmistakable B…b…b…baby of BTO.
I got all songs and the bonus, but missed the very first group. I’ve known it my whole life, but just couldn’t come up with it (my mind kept going to Hal Macrae, the artist who did the first disco song The Hustle). Being born in 1969, these contests are the soundtrack of my childhood.

Country music?
only 6 plus the bonus, lots there I'd never heard of though...
PS - Moare please!
17/20 w/ bonus.
I enjoyed these songs and even had some of them on tape or record. However, I stink at this quiz!
I was doing so well until Question 20. That blew my perfect game up. Got 19 out of 20 plus the bonus right. Sooo close!!
Oh boy...
I got everyone but literally the last group. Just couldn't remember the Chi-lites. And BTO You aint seen nothin' yet for the bonus.
Fun quiz! I got a few, the 70s are when life was primo for me. I love that you gave a nod to Bachman-:Turner Overdrive. Go Canada!😃
🍁👍
The Guess Who was also in there with "American Woman"...
"Music of the 70s" quiz. My favourite category so it should be easy. It wasn't!
7 out of 20 plus the bonus. Got a further 5 titles right but couldn't think of the artist and another 2 artists right but couldn't name the song. 8/20 sorry I shall just go away quickly!🥺
uh oh...
Well played !! I got 7 .. so I will tip my hat to you . And I hated the fact I knew every song .. 😢😢😢😢😢😢
Shoot! I forgot the name of "I Am Woman"; & I forgot that Wild Cherry sang "Play That Funky Music"; & the fact that Preston sang "Will It Go Down In Circles"; & I didn't know #20. I absolutely LUV these quizzes! ❤
Thanks 👍😊
I got all but the last one. Got the name of the group wrong! Dang!
20/20 + bonus. Almost got me at #15. But I took a (correct) guess at the artist. 70's is my favorite decade for music...🎵🍁🥁
Nicely done Deborah 78😊👍
It's good, but can we have more of the song, and a smaller gap between the song and the reveal please?
Hi Pierre. I appreciate the question. Unfortunately, due to copyright issues, if I play a longer clip, RUclips prevents me from using the song at all. Regarding the time gap, I have found that the majority of viewers finds 9 seconds to be just about right for all of my quiz formats.
@@MisterQuizster Hi Mr. Quizster, thanks for replying, pesky copyright rules, I'll just have to sharpen up my act 🙂
18/20; missed 1 & 20
Only 6 plus the bonus question.
I got 1 right!
I guess I don’t know 70’s music that well… fun though!
Is there a quiz about songs of the 40’s? Have a special interest when it comes to 40’s.
Some tough ones! I had 14/21
Missed 3.. Bonus was BTO You aint seen nothing yet.
Not so good with the 70s as I was just a wee lad BUT I knew the songs but could not remember their names or misnamed them, so a measley 7 out of 20. I did get the bonus but forgot the artist.

A 70s music quiz without anything from Abba or The Bee Gees seems incomplete.
That's why there's this neat thing I rely on for the future called 'Part 2'
@@MisterQuizster looking forward to it.
Bto
With 40 answers it is too hard to keep track of my score. Let's just say I knew both artist and song on some, only the artist on some and only the song on some. Still love the quiz though.
I had a very hard time with this quiz because all the drugs I've done in the '70s
Knew all 20 song titles right off the bat including the bonus song. Knew all the groups but 3 which slipped my mind (Guess Who, Cars & The Romantics).
