The best music ever. I am 75 and can still reflect back to those happy days. Music now is not as good and will not be remembered like these brilliant songs and the artist that sang them.

Music and indeed all the arts present a clear reflection of society of the time. In the 50s and the 60s romance, family life, and indeed hope were very much in the minds of young people. Life seemed to be much more simple, regular and in many ways safe. People took pride in themselves and their appearance and torn jeans and stubble were unthinkable. Ladies were smart, feminine, and often intoxicating and men's tailors were kept very busy. Soon after sixteen years of age I already owned three new lounge suits and my own transport free of debt. I always had several jobs. My working class family all got stuck in. This genre of music squarly fits into that context. We strove hard, dressed up to go out, smart lads and gorgeous girls having a great time together. These are not all original artists which is sad as the music was much better than this.

Life was simpler, safer and much happier in the 50s and 60s. I could sing along with almost every tune of pop music. The front door of our house in South London was never locked in the daytime and the local policeman was a friend of the family as he walked the streets. (When I last visited the same house, it was covered in steel bars and burglar alarms). The war was over, standards improved, rationing disappeared in the 50s, and there were no sensitivities of race, gender, size, age and location. I was taught to call the road sweeper "sir" if I asked him the time - because he knew the time and I did not! In the 60s, Afghanistan was the place for hippies to go for wayout parties and pop music. The 400,000 people who attended Woodstock in 1969 shared Peace, Love and Music. Now we live in horrible times.
Put the blame on greed . Crooked Da ,Judge, Laywers, oh hell ! Military. And all the rest. Who held hand out for green stuff. Look the other way . USA.way. now u got it now. Pray God for gives like the good book says.
I don't remember what the racial situation was. My parents were bigots so they hated everyone. Were blacks, Jews, Italians, and many others feeling so great about those times? I just don't know. You are correct that there's been a tremendous increase in crime, but do you remember all the kidnappings? That was out of hand. We were also poisoning ourselves with unregulated chemicals. I don't know. It's nice to remember the old days.
I have no memory of the 50's, too young, but I grew up in the 60's and I agree that life was much better in the 60's, not perfect but simpler and better.
Yes I agree with you. Growing up in the 50s 60s 70s was the best. I'm 72 now the music brings me back in time with my mom and dad who are gone now. Wonderful years grade school high school and then the working years.
I am in my eighties and love the fifties music, I danced to rock and roll and of course Elvis Presley. It was a much peaceful time and safer. The world has gone crazy now and people don't seem to care about others any more. There were many great artists back then, many not with us any more unfortunately.

You know what they were saying in the good old days? Whatever happened to the good old days? Lol.
Put the blame on greed . Crooked Da ,Judge, Laywers, oh hell ! Military. And all the rest. Who held hand out for green stuff. Look the other way . USA.way. now u got it now. Pray God for gives like the good book says.
and what happened to America oh invaders of nonwhites
I don't remember what the racial situation was. My parents were bigots so they hated everyone. Were blacks, Jews, Italians, and many others feeling so great about those times? I just don't know. You are correct that there's been a tremendous increase in crime, but do you remember all the kidnappings? That was out of hand. We were also poisoning ourselves with unregulated chemicals. I don't know. It's nice to remember the old days.
I have no memory of the 50's, too young, but I grew up in the 60's and I agree that life was much better in the 60's, not perfect but simpler and better.
Só músicas boas, relembrando a minha juventude. Obrigado, valeu.

Yes I agree with you. Growing up in the 50s 60s 70s was the best. I'm 72 now the music brings me back in time with my mom and dad who are gone now. Wonderful years grade school high school and then the working years.
We are still alive listening to our childhood favourites. Thnks for unveiling our hearts❤❤❤
Yes, I'm 71 and am more comfortable back then, than now.
68 still listening
I am in my eighties and love the fifties music, I danced to rock and roll and of course Elvis Presley. It was a much peaceful time and safer. The world has gone crazy now and people don't seem to care about others any more. There were many great artists back then, many not with us any more unfortunately.
