The "Stop lying to me" gave me chills! The conviction in her voice this woman deserves all the acting awards!
Why did she think Bobby was lying? Did she think Bobby was going to kill himself? Is that why she was so panic and all over the place?
@@tiararoxeanne1318 Yes.
I loved her in America horror story
This is how I feel right now with my son situation
Not the purpose of the beginning of the conversation when she was saying sí ser exactitud
God damn they should be giving Angela Bassett an Emmy for this!
Every time there is an award ceremony she should get one.
@@demekialondon2030 Damn right! She's brilliant. She's putting that Yale education to use.
Angela Bassett giving a master class in acting here. If her and Peter don’t win and Emmy for this scene it would be criminal.
This is one of the realist conversations they ever had.
I can feel Athena's pain through the screen! Athena always knew that she could never replace Bobby's dead family, so she did everything she could to love and support him. But, I think a part of her felt like that wasn't enough for him.
Yes, like she feels like she will always compete with his dead family. Bobby needs to show Athena that he chooses her. Like Athena once said that she's where she's supposed to be. Emmet was part of her past..
Peter Krause and Angela Bassett are amazing in this scene.
@@mp_8 Yep. Bobby's still living with one foot in the past when he has a great life in the present. He needs to put his past to rest and be grateful of his second chance.
@@TheMusicalHarmonee Yeah, but that’s the thing. He IS grateful for his second chance, but I think there’s a lot of shame that came with that second chance. Some of that shame is on the event and its aftermath that he feels tainted that second chance, and some of it is on Bobby (like, additional and [un]conscious self-flagellation that only adds to the belief that this chance given to him was a tainted one).
I know I’m projecting, and I wouldn’t pretend to fully understand, but let’s just say this is coming from someone who also struggles with conflicting gratitude and shame when I’m granted some sort of desire or forgiveness for any of my worse actions or days.
Peter Krause and Angela Basset, the actors that you are!!!!!
One of the best performances i’ve seen of the show. really shows why these two are powerhouses and big stars.
They knocked this scene out of the park. This episode broke my heart in the best way... they had better both be okay next episode 😭😭
Yes, excellent the both of them. I hope they dont kill Bobby off. I won't be the same. Does anyone think that Malcolm set the fir 2:47 e! I do. He was going to talk to Bobby until he started seeing how good Bobby has it now. Malcolm got mad and refuse to help him.
I HATED the way this episode ended. So super emotionally charged and then....credits. "OH COME ON!"
@@robbindouglas6518I think Amir did it. Athena put them both in danger bringing him over there. Once he found out the kinds weren't there, it was open season.
Peter Krause and Angela Bassett both killed this scene!! I love them together as a married couple. Out of her love interests throughout her movie & television career, Ms. Bassett's chemistry with Peter Krause on screen is so authentic and REAL. These two actors are tops in their craft. I remember watching Peter Krause years ago in Brothers and Sisters with Sally Fields. Loved his character in that series, too. I hope they don't "kill" Bobby off. Athena and Buck both would fall apart. I'm rewatching how Athena and Bobby started dating. It was so sweet.
@@rooseveltwilliams1073I loved Brothers and Sisters. Why can't I remember him from there? I always felt he looked familiar 🤔
Watching this scene again has touched me deep and made me ugly cry. They both are excellent actors. Yes Bobby is in a dark place and feels he doesn't deserve happiness. She see the writing on the wall. His words "I'm not suppose to be here." YES they deserve awards! Love the whole team too!
Queen!!! Angela Bassett deserves an Emmy. Peter is no slouch either!
Danmmit this woman is incredible. Living Legend, beautiful, n truly blessed.
Ooooowwwwweeeee my sister (in my head) continues to make us proud...the facial expression, the conviction in her voice, the passion of her words, the right tones at right time, the love of wanting to help but feeling it wasn't enough since he still feel the same as he did yrs ago... yes new category... Small Scene Award goes to Basset and Krause...
Damn, Bassett brings it hard.
She’s amazing
She does EVERY TIME 😊
During this entire episode it came across like Bobby was saying goodbye and I thought about his book plan, so I’m glad Athena called him out on his behavior and that Bobby acknowledged his past plans. I just want them both to be okay.
He was. He resigned. He didn't tell the crew though. That's the goodbye he planned. He made sure everyone was ready to carry on like he was there without him being there. I don't think the plan was to unalive himself like Athena was worried about. I don't want to find out next week that's why he collapsed I'd be sooooo mad. They better not start the next episode off with a funeral. They'll do something like that to psych people out. It won't be Bobby, but it'll make you think it. Then they'll do a voice over about "he had a heartattack" or something like that.
This was the season ending episode so when they come back, they better have these 2 in scripts!
❤🙏🏿❤
@deelovese in sure they will, but it looks like the 118 isn't gonna be in Bobby's hands. I knew there was gonna be something happening when they brought the old scumbag captain back around. I hope he gets treated like Hen and Chim did when they first started there. 118 is a family now. They won't tolerate that dudes crap.
@charlottevaughn825 as SOON as he came out that office, I was like "OH HELL NAH!!!"
Angela should get an emmy for her part in this. Great show.
Dang,
I really felt both of their words from this scene. Athena is trying her best to be supportive of Bobby and although he's dealing with pain and regret it's a little unfair how he has a second chance by creating a life with Athena but in some ways its like he's punishing her by not giving his all to her who is living and sticking by him. I hope they work it out and rebuild somewhere else and make it as a couple.
One of this best episodes I've seen yet
She deserves a million Oscars
Angela Bassett is an outstanding actress. So talented. I love her so much
She came with the Tina Turner energy
I know, right! She was brilliant!
I said the same thing it’s giving Tina and Katherine and I love it!!
And the Emmy goes to Angela Bassett!
I don’t think Athena is coming from a place of thinking or feeling like he needs to get over it. Not once does she ever say that. I think it’s her expressing her fear that Bobby’s being in this dark place again is going to lead him to harm himself. She’s taking into account how he has processed and dealt with this issue in the past and she doesn’t want him to harm himself because of that. At the same time, it’s been 10 years and as she told him in the last episode, he’s not the same man he was then. He’s gotta believe that and know that no matter who or what may come up from his past. He’s got to know that you are not the mistakes you make, they don’t define you. I think a part of marriage is having a spouse that not only comforts and consoles but also is willing to pull you out of your darkness. As his wife, it’s not just her responsibility to comfort and console but try and pull him out. But she is still scared that he will resort to past coping mechanisms. She also knows how far he’s come and the life they’ve built together is worth too much for him to stay in this dark place. Great scene!!! 👌🏾
YOU BETTAH PREACH!!! I couldn'tve said it better!❤
She betta ACT!
Good stuff...the crazy thing is I just discovered how good this show is watching this current season. I've been catching up on Hulu and just completed the 1st season which explains everything in this episode. Howvgreat is that😊
I was late to the party as well. Came across it in February and binged all 6 seasons...just in time for season 7 😊 I love this cast ❤
I love me some Angela Bassett 😩
Bobby ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Athena
Acting her ass off!
Omg I love this show Athena and Bobby are number one and the whole crew from 118 when I saw Bobby grab his chest and fall to the ground I was like this better not be his last episode 😢 then the show won’t be the same Bobby need to stay for Athena and the crew!!!
I missed it!!!! There was a tornado watch here in Texas and the local news took over the channel. Omg, please do a rerun of this. This is my favorite show❤
Hulu has all the seasons
Though I understand why, I HATE that this is Bobby's storyline this season. I really hope that he can survive and FINALLY find that closure he needs and live the rest of his life to it's fullest, appreciating that he was given a second chance FOR A REASON, that he is not to understand. That's what faith is.
I hope that season 8, they talk about these, it can't just remain the same as it always is when they fight, this scene is a gem of cinema. Beautiful ❤
They are the main characters and has to stay that way
When I saw at the first episode "Starring Angela Bassett", I knew then and there it was going to be an awesome show.
Love Althenis and Bobby together 👍👍👍
They better be okay next episode. 🥺🥺
😂😂
Every woman or man that has had a problem with a mate understood this part when you tired of the lies and them holding back from you enough to drive you mad Angela plays her part well
They were supposed to work on their communication after 4x14. 😫
QUEEN ANGELA BASSET IS AN ARTEST&A HELLA ACTRESS.
Emmy award for Angela Bassett IMMEDIATELY 🙌🏻⭐️
I missed that episode and I don't have hulu.
Disney plus has it also
2:27 💔
Peter Krause he's my favorite LOVE YOU BOBBY NASH
I knew Bobby wasn't okay. You don't just move on from trauma like that. He's been hiding it so it had to come out eventually...I love Athena, but she can't understand the pain that man is going through. If something tragic happened to May and Harry, she would be carrying that for the rest of her life.
So what do you want her to do? Just give up on the man she loves? He's her reason, she should be his too! Not everyone gets a chance at anything near redemption.
@@p.merle7-11 no she doesn't need to give up. But going on thinking that he's okay or will ever be okay is insane. She needs to remember what he's been through and be proactive. He needs constant therapy. I've experienced traumatic loss, and triggers are real. Even loved ones birthdays are triggers. Holidays are triggers. I'm just saying it might have looked like he was okay, but that was him hiding it. Don't forget he just didn't lose a wife, but his two children. And he blames himself.
This is just popped in my brain that that’s what scares Athena is that she can never understand the kind of pain Bobby is going through therefore she doesn’t know how best to support him and has to rely on him to tell her the truth even when she knows he’s lying or isn’t in a good place. I think Athena knew he wasn’t ok and knows when he’s not and knows that the pain Bobby is carrying is life long I think this scene illustrates that and her ongoing underlying fear.
I also assumed this scene is the culmination of moments in their marriage we hadn’t scene over the course of their marriage b/c this kind of confrontation doesn’t just happen over a few episodes. I just have to say it even thought everybody already has and I hate seeing them argue or in near death experiences😅 but some of Bobby and Athena’s best scenes are these raw emotional ones Angela and Peter be ACTING ACTING
Technically Athena did lose May. Yes, she eventually was revived but May died in her arms when she committed s**cide. I think as we see here Bobby knows about most if not everything Athena has been through. She’s allowed him in. Bobby isn’t fully open despite them being married. Before we’ve seen her be understanding and letting him cope with things on his own. She’s finally stepping up and stopping him from continuing to do that. She just wants her partner to be vulnerable not necessarily just get over his loss
Bobby needs real counseling
This is so painful to watch esp after this scene 😢 I hate seeing them like this.. and now Bobby is in coma 💔
So what happened to get Bobby like this in the first place?
Amir
Seria uma ótima ideia se a história do Bobby Nash mudasse, já pensou que reviravolta seria se o Bobby descobrisse que não foi ele que causou o incêndio?
what episode did the ledge thing happen?
Beginning seasons 1 or 2
2x6
Dramaaaaaaaaaaa❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😂😮😮😮😮
Can we get over this already?!
this wouldnt of happened if he didnt break up with Lorelai Gilmore :( also i just noticed something the finale of the season is titled All Fall Down this episode title is Ashes Ashes i wonder if they mean something here> It should of been LA Fire is Falling or LA Fire Has Fallen (Pun on Angela Bassett's movies where she is the secratary of the president of the usa).
Damn he about to die
Lets hope not
He survived the heart attack
@@liampaynefan4life496 I’m very glad he survived. The show wouldn’t be the same without him.
@@ReginasRetroReviews me too I saw in finale he woke up
#savestation19
Someone said they wouldn’t be main characters next season 😢
I need to see this these 2 as main characters ❤
