Done it for years on Yorkshire coast till they brought in a 10mt contour line which means there must be 10mts of water over the headline all states of tide still ok tho to bait intertidal longline or single baited hooks
I saw a shoul of makeral off of the point Southampton 8 year ago and it was like half of a football pitch , any fish shortages is because trawlers from abroad
I was thinking of putting out a landline at night at low tide with about 20 hooks anchored between two rocks. Does the seaweed over the hooks stop the gulls and have you any advice on where i might catch cod. I live on the west coast of Ireland.
Hi, I'll do my best to help. Fishing on the rocks with hooks is good, however you will catch wrasse, dogs huss, Pollock maybe bream.I have put lines on the beach where it is just sand. 43 hook with squid and black lug on with no look but I catch them in the nets. My advice is to speak to some angling shops or anglers to find out where cod has been caught this way you will have a better chance of catching. The Gulls shouldn't be a problem, it's the crabs eating the bait the crabs will get there before the fish. I hope this helps you on your adventure.
They work just the same staked into the sand, when there is a lot of weather I just put a couple more stays on to reduce movement so the net stays straight.
Mint vids pal makes me envious beautiful way of life one day hopefully will do the same I own a lake make my money that way but your way is real. 👍

Used to do lines and nets off w Cumbria in 70s . Mate got 39lb cod .
Colvend in the 80's & early 90's me & my mate had wheel barrow each heaped full many a time. With some huge cod.

So the local trawlers catch nothing then?
Seriously?
@@DrFelonioushaha, spot on mate. Commercial fishers don't see a fish swimming they see $ signs getting away from them, sadly, always greedy.
Touseed no in
Thought it had been banned years ago on the beach,?

Like your videos, but without meaning to be rude mate, you really need to sort out your microphone so we can actually hear what your saying.

Sarebbe stato tutto molto più interessante con i sottotitoli attivati.!!
