  • This time on Tech Tuesday Jake Burkey and our Lead Sales and Part's Expert Trey Rogers are going to tell you everything you need to know about our lightweight brake kits. We have kits for numerous axles but today we are discussing the Super 60 lightweight brake kit. This kit is not for the heavy diesel vehicles they came in but for off road vehicles that have had a Super 60 front axle swapped into it or a custom axle such as our 14 bolts and fabricated 9" housings that use Super 60 outers. Face it your Jeep or Rock Crawler does not need 3/4 or 1 ton brakes to slow it down. So with this kit you can get the performance brakes that you are looking for and lose a ton of unsprung weight off of your axles as well! It saves 66 lbs off of a stock axle! These are the brake packages that come standard on our Turnkey Busted Knuckle Rock Bouncers so you know they are dialed. Matched with the right brake pedal and master cylinder these can stop on a dime. This video will show you how to the Wilwood brakes install using our kit. The best part is the rotors come predrilled for both the factory super 60 lug pattern and the most popular lug pattern in the offroad world at 8 on 6.5

    I love these tech videos. Don't get me wrong the buggy build and offroad videos are really cool but the information that comes with these videos are priceless. Thank you Jake, Trey and Matt👊👊👊

      @@BustedKnuckleOffRoadI am building a 2018 JLU with an LT4, 10-speed, 16 F-250 axles on 40’s. Could I get these and still drive on street without ABS or any warnings?

    Can this be used to clear smaller wheels as well? Such as 15 or 16”?

    Awesome set up! I’ve installed 3 sets. Quick thing to add, I’ve had to get a grinder to the knuckles (lower part ) for clearance. Rotor hits knuckle when lug nuts are installed and lock up wheel.

      Good point that is rare. We only see that when there is some extra casting material on some of the later models and some Reid Knuckles.

    Maybe I misunderstood, but is this an upgrade for a stock brake system with sd60 swapped under or only for manual brake setups? I have a 99WJ I6 with 2007 SD60 and would like the weight savings and not so mushy brake feel.

    Do you offer this for Ford Kingpin Dana 60? Nobody seems to make outboard brake rotor conversion kits for these trucks.

      @BustedKnuckleOffRoad Yea, not seeing anything for Kingpin 60s. The OBS axles could seriously use something of your quality design. The Superduty from day 1, was alway an easy bet. The Superduty rotors were already outboard.

    Oh, so this would help with the pedal feel for my MJ! Got a super60 in the front and get virtually no brakes until the very end of the pedal. I got used to it but, if I understand correctly, this would make it behave more "normal" again?

    • @BustedKnuckleOffRoad
      @BustedKnuckleOffRoad  2 года назад +1

      It should help for sure. Your MJ probably can’t push the amount of fluid or pressure for the massive 1 ton brakes

      @@BustedKnuckleOffRoad it’s enough to lock them up but only at the bottom of the pedal travel.
