    Hey Timeka! Hope you are doing good I have a question for you. I am currently an HR Generalist and living in my hometown with family, I already have both a bachelors and masters and I have been at this job currently for over 2 years now. I have applied to other places and even had some interviews but keep getting no’s and lately it’s been starting to feel like nothings working out for me, do you have any advice on what I should do?

    • @HeyyyHR
      @HeyyyHR  11 месяцев назад +1

      Heyyy! Gosh I remember when I was in that position. If you're getting interviews, then your resume is speaking to your HR Generalist skill set. Try sending DMs to recruiters on Linkedin with your resume attached. Only send short messages in DMs. Try joining HR Groups on Facebook. Jobs are posted in there all of the time. I think Black in HR has a job board too. Here's the link to a free eBook where I have HR groups on FB listed in it: heyyyhr.ck.page/0da6fca5df

    How is it that people who get into HR with no experience are hired? I recently interviewed for a corporate lawfirm as an HR Assistant entry level position and the lady who would be my boss just started in HR and she was the recruiting Director… Make this make sense plz. She had no knowledge of HR when she joined but, I have experience in HR even without the title before getting an HR Rep position and I’m either turned down after applying OR after I make it through final rounds but, people like her are always picked 😂🤣

      Same problem here. Maybe if you take an HR certification or a few courses, you will get the job.

      @@yousefhawsawi1989 I’m not wasting my money on that bc I already wasted debt in my HR degree. 😂🤣

      I always suggest two things: 1. A powerful resume that shows the transformation in your HR related skills 2. Building a network. Their network normally gets them in spots with no experience 🙄

      @@HeyyyHR I think ur right. My resume hasn’t needed any changes that I’ve sent to resume writers so I guess I will start building a network. I’m already applying for positions at a hospital and I keep in touch the recruiter for HR positions there and she just landed me a in person interview this week for a hospital so I’m going to take ur advice and try networking!
      I do have a LinkedIn account but, I don’t really know how to use it LOL. I don’t like linked in bc I feel personally those types of sourcing sites are used for discrimination purposes since people can see your photo and I know I shouldn’t say that but, someone of the minority group it just feels that way sometimes.
      Anyways, thank you HeyyyHR I always value your feedback and your videos. 🥰🥰❤️❤️
