I hope Fields develops as a passer. I would love for him to be the future of the team.
@Alex.Walker Fact is since Justin Fields first full season as Bears starting QB, he's been the better overall QB & passer than Russell Wilson.
Take a look at Brooke Pryor's article posted today on ESPN
That Pryor post is completely BOGUS!!! It's weighted down by Russ' poor 2022 campaign. The right thing to do would be to go by last year's numbers only.
@@scoesixtray2457 Not true.
I would nt want to come back because the way thy did Mason took Kenny ova him. An Steelers gon draft a qb
He will but we cant have weak minded tomlin pulling stupid moves like this , he needs to goo
They are not benching Justin Fields for Russ. Russ is QB1 and is now healthy and returning to his spot.
I actually wanna see if russ still got it
He does not. In preseason dude ain't score once. Lastly it's been 7 weeks no play and he's magically just going to be great. Hope he doeß good but Justin Fieldsy QB
@@naamanjackson637 he only played one drive guy
@@naamanjackson637 what are you even talking about did you actually watch the preseason? he only had one drive the entire preseason. 😅
You didn’t watch him with the Broncos last year???? He’s washed
These ppl have Russ derangement syndrome. They hate the man and they don’t want him to start because their biggest fear is for him to play well enough to make them look foolish and to secure that HOF spot they want to write him out of
I don't get it either, our O-line is terrible at pass protection, so, how is Russ going to be better than Justin playing behind that line? I have been a big Mike Tomlin supporter, but my opinion of him will change if he screws this up!
You clearly haven't been paying attention... He's completely responsible for them having zero offense, starting with ruining big Ben's last year. Tomlin is terrible.
I think Russ was promised the starting job when they signed him and hasn't been given a shot to prove himself yet.
You would have to be the dumbest coach and franchise to bench a young potential franchise QB to promise a 36 year old washed QB for a promise
@@BeepsAndBeats , fields isn't a franchise qb. There's a reason why the bears traded him
@@BeepsAndBeatsYou don't get a potential franchise qb for a 6th round pick.
So what, you can lose your starting Job to Injury in The NFL
It’s really this simple. I don’t know why people are struggling to reach this conclusion. Tomlin obviously made a promise to Wilson, and he’s a man of his word. If he doesn’t play well, they’ll go back to Fields, but once he was healthy, Tomlin was always going to make sure Russell got his chance to start.
Honestly If I were Fields I would check out. I’ll take a mediocre contract as a backup in Jacksonville or San Diego.
Big Justin Fields Fan, only logic I see is that we got Russ on the bench, let’s see what we got going into the bye week within these two New York games and you make the final decision in the bye week, I believe Justin is the future, you only have Russ for this season
Good point.
I can see that..
Its just a very, very risky gamble with commanders and Ravens games right after the bye with an additional tough schedule going on for the rest of the season..
Only logic I see is that the defense is winning these games and Fields is getting Kenny Pickett numbers which isn’t gonna cut it.
@@MJMoneyline If that's the reasoning then you're not trying to win, nor do you take the 4-2 (should be 5-1 or 6-0) record seriously.
When I say "you" I'm talking Tomlin of course. Bottom line is the Steelers organization is beginning to resemble as much of a clown show as the Chicago Bears.
Regardless of who starts, if they lose this game, fans will be demanding the other takes over.
This is baffling.
In the words of The Rock “IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOU THINK”
These people are seeing it all wrong. No one is getting benched, Russ was always the number 1 qb on the depth chart and now he’s healthy. That pretty much it
Alot of people don't get it not just them you got alot of trust in a QB who got kicked out of Denver Quick fast and in a hurry, Seattle Russ is no more
@@tiyalewhitehurst338Arthur Smith’s offense never required Russ to return to Seattle form. That was never the goal or expectation. If JF himself can acknowledge that he didn’t play well enough to secure the QB1 spot I don’t understand how or why every else can’t see it. He’s played well enough to secure a few victories but this literally no different than when the Steelers started the season 11-0 a few years ago under Big Ben. Everyone was in an uproar then because we all knew, even though we were winning we still weren’t playing well enough to be taken seriously come playoff time. Now all of a sudden because it’s Justin everyone is turning a blind eye? Mike Tomlin KNOWS his team and he understands what it will take to win. He is obligated to see if Russ can help the offense perform better
@dylanrucker6104 Ok so coach Tomlin is obligated to put Russ in, seems like Justin is in a no win situation, Justin is humbling himself by saying what he said people can read between the lines , who doednt want to stsy the starting QB and that 11 and 0 season has nothing to do with this team, Big Ben's job was never in Jeporady, people believe Russ is going to make the offense a top 10 or 5 ranking are simply out of there mind they have more the QB issues never seen a winning QB get benched 7 games into the season, but I did see a Supee Bowl winning QB get benched and traded after signing a massive Contract, not to mention getting chewed out by his coach on the sidelines in front of the whole team
@@tiyalewhitehurst338 we are both drawing from history to make our points. You can’t dismiss my argument about the Steelers going 11-0 because it’s not completely the same team. The precedent is still the same. The point is that the offense is stale and lacking significant big play needed to win games in the NFL long-term. It might win you a few games to start, but it’s not a winning formula long-term. Part of that winning formula HAS TO be getting your WRs more involved and allowing them opportunities to score. Russ is inherently a better passer than Justin. Although Justin can grow into being a better passer, we are talking about winning now. We don’t need Russ to be all he was in Seattle. Your point about his sideline argument with Sean is mute. Russ was on pace to throw 30 TDs last year in Denver which frankly is double what the Steelers have had since Ben left, so I wouldn’t be so quick to say he can’t help open the offense up more.
@dylanrucker6104 got a few things to say Russell is 36 and Fields is 25 and Russ good days are behind him Justin is the future and he was thrown in because of injury and won 4 out of 6 games, was it pretty absolutely not but wins are hard to come by in the NFL they are both the 2 most sacked QBs in the last 3 years I think but young legs are better then old legs and just can Run the have the worst WR core in the league and I've ever seen as a fan a borderline number 1 and a bunch of number 3s Roman Wilson was probably counted on but injury destroyed that option and there been needed to make a move for better production, at the one somebody gets injured every week and they are a work in progress, which is hindering the running game, bottomi line is this is a rebuilding offense who isn't ready to compete with KC yet why not let Justin play and live with all the growing pains
Grow as a passer? They’re one of the worst passing teams in the league. The dislike for Russ that ESPN has, is really strange. Dan constantly praised Russ last year
If anything I’ve seen more news on people agreeing with this take lmao , idk what you’re on regardless this move makes no sense whether your the Steelers or any other team
@@jakefromstatefarm9287 not a great reader huh. it makes perfect sense. Justin Fields hand is being held by the D & coaches
🎯Justin Qbr is better then alot of your favorites What are you talking about? 👀
@@bennyce5430 QBR.? HAHAHA
So a poor passing offense is all on the QB? You'll see Sunday why this is crazy.
I was at the game against the Cowboys and JF had players wide open that he overlooked. And that was on multiple occasions. People were scratching their heads on how he's miss these obvious gimmies
You weren’t at the game shut up
Fields is taking this in stride, and hooefully this allows him to mentalky reset and focus on a few things in his game that need to improve. He will get a shot again and should come back stronger.
I don't understand what people don't understand. Russell Wilson was the number one quarterback coming into the this season he got hurt. Fields if he was hitting the receivers. I seen a lot of passes over the receiver's head. That's unacceptable
People are comparing him with. He played in Chicago and that's not a very good comparison cuz Chicago is just awful. He had no other pieces to play with on offense. No running game, no receivers. He tried to do everything himself in Chicago. He did very well at 4-2 for his second string quarterback but it's now it's time to let let the big boi play
1:26 Is that person recording Justin Fields with a SIDEKICK PHONE? Bringing back memories
How can you not root for Fields? He's so humble . Damn I hate this for him. I hope Russ is terrible like he was last year and gets benched again.
i mean so what hes a nice guy if you cant beat out current russ then you dont deserve to be a starter
So you wish another person to fail because you feel bad for the other ? Fields was exactly right about himself, he would have about 5 INTs of it wernt for the refs or DBs with butterfingers, he still misses wide open receivers more then you would want a starter to do, he stares down others constantly and doesn’t look at a receiver who is waving his hands in the air, go look for yourself
Russell wilson went 26 TD and 8 Int last year, fields is a running back with a ball in his hand
@@xTheBigCheezEx That's the problem. Fields has beaten out Russ & still being benched.
Looks like the Steelers trying to avoid paying a 4th round pick for a Franchise QB.
@@scoesixtray2457seems like he never beat him out if he is getting benched
I love Fields. He was not playing “extremely well” as Ryan Clark described. Is the media paying attention to the Steelers offense?
Nope. Just win loss column and wanting to humble russ
Russell Wilson gets a chance to prove if he’s truly an all time great QB.. if he’s truly great then he will play in Pittsburgh for the next 3 to 4 years at an Elite level
Russ will only play on the NFL team whose goal is to win Super Bowls. This is Russ' goal!
Not gonna happen.
Russ will not play for the next 3 to 4 years. He's not a pocket passer and his legs are gone.
@@marylallen1884Russ will never sniff another superbowl. Are you Decurtas cousin?
This is the biggest fear of Russell Wilson haters which is why they desperately don’t want him to get a start. These ppl don’t even like Fields they just hate Russ and their biggest nightmare is for him to secure a HOF spot while also shattering the last myths they have remaining about QBs who look like him with his style and longevity
If this group of NFL analyst (all awesome) are confused. I have no chance to understand the situation.
Big facts lol. But the situation is plain as day- russ was touted as qb1 all summer and only injuries prevented that from actualizing earlier this year. He’s healthy so he takes the rightful place at starting. They making it rocket science
@@414awill you are right and it is the “No Feelings League “ 😀
@@ChiBears73 😂 we know that aint the truth
Haha! You all are out of your minds. Fields has not been good at all. He's not the reason they have won games. This is the same type of QB play that got them nowhere in the post season. Tomlin wants to win a Superbowl! That will not happen with Fields straight up. Russ is every bit as good as always(a little slower running). People who say he isn't didn't actually watch his games last season...
They’re both professionals. They’re both adults. Pundits and fans acting like they’re in kindergarten. They’re both starters in the NFL. Justin had 6 weeks. Russ will get his chance, too. It’s not that complicated.
I think they want to see what Wilson has without killing fields’ confidence by taking him out after a bad loss
Because being benched after a win and going 4-2 is such a great confidence booster... You couldn't have actually thought about that take.
So it makes more sense taking him ( Fields ) out after a good win?. That makes no sense to me.
@@light279 right? Like, make this make sense.
I’m just trying to make it make sense as to why they would do this in the first place. Just brainstorming here dang 😅

I'm shocked the media and Steeeelrs fans seem ok with Steelers being top 4 field goal attempts in league (50% of points from Bozworth) ; top 10 punting; consistent lowest scoring first halfs in league avg 0- 10. How do they not see that we are 4-2 becaus our defense keeps teams to 7 points allowin us to squeak by on field goals? We need Russ to make our WR and TEs a factor in the game.
Coach said russ was in in pole position/starting qb since the summer. The reason yall are confused is because you don’t listen or thought he was lying. Either way it was very clear.
Cooper rush won games when dak was out back in the ‘22 season. No one batted an eye when he got his spot back. Same with green bay this year. Mass media is hell these days. They hate certain types of people and just dig in
Dude nobody believed Cooper Rush was going to be the starter over Dak you can't be SERIOUS, this is not the same thing
Fields is more talented the russ. Eyes don't lie
Fields limits the field, this is why the WR1 isnt running his routes properly. QB IQ.
You have to let Wilson at least have a go at it.
4 games is his leash. If he blows it, his careers over .
100%. 4 games in either we have an offense and a team that can compete in the playoffs, or we got nothing... Which is what we have with fields.
And if he doesn’t blow it these analysts credibility is forever destroyed 😂. They are on the record with all this gaslighting for a QB with 5 TD passes in 6 games and trying to pretend he’s better than someone who has 2nd msot TDs in history through 12 years
@truthbearer7891 5 TD passes 5 Rushing TDs, so 10 total touchdowns, which is actually one of the highest in the league, or are we just not counting those, because if so, lets collect back Lamar's MVPs yesterday
Arthur Smith’s offense never required Russ to return to Seattle form. That was never the goal or expectation. If JF himself can acknowledge that he didn’t play well enough to secure the QB1 spot I don’t understand how or why every else can’t see it. He is obligated to see if Russ can help the offense perform better
JF2 has been productive, if their o line would help the run their offense as a whole would run like butter.
Dude threw for 100 yards last week. What are we even talking about.
It’s so bizarre dude is a below average passer I don’t understand how people can’t see it
@@olamideawonusi7264 yeah there's a weird cultishness about it. They like his attitude or something? So happy we got Russ going now!
How you bench the backup QB that was playing because QB1 was hurt ? He’s going back to his role as Backup
Justin is by no means elite right now but he’s making plays some of which got called back due to penalties. He literally did the same scramble drill td pass to the back of the endzone Lamar did a week prior but it got called back because he was 3 yards in front of the line. This better be the right move otherwise it’s going to be a real bad look for Tomlin.
Tomlin is trying to get the best out of his QBs by having them compete with one another. I think Fields has played well and should get the starting job, but you never know what you have with Wilson unless you throw him in there. If it was me, I would be shopping Wilson around the league for a draft pick.
Let fields play. He hasn't looked bad. If it ain't broke don't break it
Ranked 28th in passing
@Kenny49ERSundefeated with a room full of superbowl trophies. Everyone knows he'll be fine.
Steelers lost to the Cowboys with a +3 turnover..... That's on Fields. Everyone talks about his attributes only, Russ is a better QB. Russes worst season is better than Fields best look it up
@Kenny49ERS Stupid comparison
@Kenny49ERS There's nothing intellectual about a 1 to 1 comparison between a 3 time sb winning qb and a qb that hasn't even sniffed a playoff game.
if there is a change,it’s a head scratcher,Fields should be allowed to play himself out of the position 🤔
I feel bad for Fields. He’s been really good. Just doesn’t seem right or fair. I want him starting
He hasn't though...
“No going back” RC…why? What NFL rule says you can’t go back? If you never see Russ in game situations “IN PITTSBURGH”, how do you know what you have? These are the perfect two games to see whether you keep Russ or trade him to Miami (for instance). Don’t be so complacent. Let’s explore what we have and make a final decision when we “KNOW” who can do what in Game situations. The only mistake is that the NFL allows all of this drama to be voiced. Anthony Richardson was supposed to be the man, Flacco is older, more experienced and a better QB. Sam Darnold wasn’t even the original starter in Minnesota. This isn’t some ground breaking thing. Let’s see before we throw Russ away. Damn. These talking heads will say anything for a check to push the narrative. It’s sad. FYI, Chuck Knoll did the same thing with Bradshaw in ‘74 and they won the Super Bowl! IJS
Its a lot of people gonna be eating crow when they realize Russ is just better.
Steelers O line is bottom 1/3 of the league in preseason ranks. Russ will magnify that weakness with his limited mobility coming off of a hamstring that cost him 6 weeks. See if PPG goes up and yardage per game but W and L's is what gets you to the playoffs.
A young man willing to take accountability these days, I truly applaud Justin for that. It's hard not to root for Justin Fields. With that said, I think Russell Wilson is the QB1 until he proves otherwise. JUSTIN DID GREAT GETTING US TO 4-2. LET'S SEE RUSS COOK AND LETS GO STEELERS!!!!
Russell Wilson played well like the rushing tack was good. I still don’t understand why you people listen Mina Kimes …blows my mind.
Because Pickens isn't happy with the lack of looks he's getting. I guarantee you this was one of the biggest reasons why Russ is starting.
Dan Orlovkiey is the worst. Steelers made the playoffs with horrible Offensive Coordinator Canada and Pickett and Rudolph last year. Now there winning with Fields. Maybe they would have been 6 and 0 with Russ. ESPN= Hate Russ at all costs.
I just don't understand what old man, can't scramble anymore, holds on to the ball too long, dink and dunk Russ is supposed to do with a beat to hell o-line, a WR room that can't get open consistently, and their 1st round RB not running well. How is he supposed to be a better option than the guy that's 10yrs younger, way more athletic, and already playing pretty well given the circumstances? To me Fields gives them the best chance to win. The timing is also weird. The Steelers are two weeks away from their bye week. Why not let Fields finish this out before the bye and then make the change with the bye if you REALLY want to make that silly change?
I think this is going to be just another example of Tomlin's famous loyalty getting them in trouble again.
Justin cannot read defenses, misses many open receivers and has one of the worst passer ratings in the league.
@@tdor9963he is in the top 15 for Qb rating his passer rating is higher than Mahomes, Jordan Love, Jalen Hurts and aaron rodgers
@@Mrfurg10ha what? That's sounds impossible... We've seen him be barely passable riding this defense (and the running game last week). We'll go nearly winless with fields offense in the second half of the season. Have you seen what the ravens are working with this year?! We need to try something, and that something is Russ.
The same ppl who doubt Russell Wilson at 35 doubted a QB like him would even be great at 25. Because y’all don’t think a QB who looks like him is smart enough to play position at high level. That’s why you think Big Be, Steve Young, Elway and others can play till 38+ and Russ can’t . Never mind him having one of the highest passer ratings in NFL history
@@alexm2889 I’m a ravens fan and nothing would make me happy than for the Steelers to switch to russ cause he holds the ball an takes dumb sacks
It’s Tomlins boss who wants to see Russ
Stop gas lighting. Fields played a notch above Tebow.A lil over100 pass ypg, 1or2 decent throws a game & a few runs for 1stdown.4 year vet playing like a raw rookie. Crazy the media yaps daily about Fields to slight Russ, pretending Fields is doing something special. Stop it!
Russ was always QB1. Justin hasn’t led them to a 4-2 record. The defense won 4 games the 2 games that Justin could’ve won, he choked it away in the end. The O is bottom half of the NFL in passing, yards, scoring, and efficiency. He’s just been lucky w/ the turnovers.
You’re never going to win over the long haul or in the playoffs with Fields. Pittsburgh is doing a good job with smoke and mirrors. QBs who don’t throw TDs don’t win. Period.
This is the real answer. I'm flabbergasted that people keep talking about fields as "the future" when we're watching him not being able to throw the damn ball 4 years into the league.
@@alexm2889It’s not about logic with ppl. The are driven by hatred of Russell Wilson for his personality. So all of a sudden passing the ball isn’t the most important trait for a QB to have
It's a problem with Pittsburgh taking their young quarterbacks and throwing an older quarterback over top of them when they're consistently winning although the two losses are excused I still think that they should start Fields because to take him off when he is winning it's just a bad decision in my opinion what happens if starting quarterback goes out and throws three interceptions and we lose 30 + points to the Jets I think they're doing the same thing with Justin Fields as they did with Kenny Pickett trying to make Justin Fields better but the difference is Fields is done a good job that's why I think that field should get the nod should be back up unless Fields does horrible
I rarely agree with Ryan but he’s right this was never a competition it was Russ job and if Field’s would have gone 6-0 they’d still made this move! This is why players so zero loyalty to franchises nowadays
Maybe Tomlin is playing mind games with the Jets. Wilson come out play the first series then sit down for JF to play the remaining.
Hope so
So what are you saying now?
If Tomlin makes this switch, and Russ lays an egg, I hope he is ready for the onslaught he is going to receive from the media. I would love to ask him what he told Fields, or is going to tell Fields if he makes this decision because as far as I can see Justin did nothing to lose the job. I wonder how short a leash Russ will have if he does start. There are a lot of big questions, but i feel for team morale, and the morale of a young qb, this is a mistake.
Il choose justin fields over russell wilson. Unfortunately they dont see the difference russel wilson does the same style over and over
NFL coaches love fixing things that aren't broken and then acting shocked when it fails
Hope not, but, Wilson might get creamed behind that line. We'll find out Sunday. Always a big Fields fan. Class act, strong leader, amazing athlete. Tomlin has been a good coach, but I'm surprised he is allowing the Pickens nonsense, especially after AB.
A disaster of a locker room is a Tomlin staple.

Justin Fields should remain the starter. In fact, this shouldn't have even been a question.
On the flip side, though, Russell Wilson is the best QB for JF1 to learn from. Wilson's intangibles/leadership/clutch is what would propel JF1 to pro-bowl levels. So, hopefully some of Wilson's magic will rub off on Fields.
QB Malpractice. The WR's hate him, there is no offense for them to thrive. Guarantee they walked in told Tomlin to start Wilson. When you are this selfish, and dont throw the ball, this is the result.
Wilson's leadership? Dude is more of a cheerleader than a leader.
Im rooting for Justin Fields! Why would you change it for a proven loser in Russell Wilson. Remember when the broncos got beat by 50 points and had 70+ points scored on them by Miami? When was the last time Russell Wilson had a winning record? He’s a back up period.
Proven loser? He won a SB.

Mike Tomlin, wow. 🤦🏾♂️ I guess nobody is perfect. Good luck talking to Justin, after Russ goes down with another, or the same injury. Are they trying to keep the compensation for Justin down? @@tiyalewhitehurst338 4 years in, we've seen field's ceiling. Look at Stafford. He played on a crap team most of his career, but everyone knew he was good. Fields played on a crap team, but everyone knew he was one of the reasons they were crap.
Fields might still start lol
Agreed Mina...I think that this is some sort of 'Jedi' mind game to motivate Fields also. That's what I'm writing tomorrow unless there's an announcement otherwise overnight. Tomlin is a master of player motivation (of course I'm not an ex-player of his) & that's why he's going to Canton one day.
@cARLBENSON6412 A "Jedi mind game to motivate Fields" to sign with an organization that won't screw him over, like Miami.
@@scoesixtray2457 Lol...could be a fit.
No he deserved to keep the job.
Russ looked horrible in the preseason ,what has fields done that warrants him getting benched
😂😂 .😂😂😂
What Clark is saying about not being able to go back to Fields if Russ underperforms is ridiculous. Everyone on that team is a precessional and can handle whatever (except maybe Pickens but he’s worried about himself not the qb)
Bruh… Russ should never start an NFL team again.
Russell Wilson Can’t see over his tackles. I meet him before. He’s like 5,10 in heels. His wife his taller than him.
Finally a based view on this
Please can the show stop letting Dan O talk so much, he is the Least important person on the show, I never care about what he says, I love everyone else though
Field's is going no where, except behind the center come game time
Mike and Russ both from Virginia! That’s it ! That’s the only thing that makes sense ! Justin will be back as starter soon enough ! Watch ! Bears .
Don't bench the guy
That’s bullshit if they thought he did good he would start
Smh did fields dirty
✅✅✅Wow....A True Soldier....I mean the guy is an Icon for Long Suffering and Perseverance
from being a Nobody in High School to being ESPN No.1 Player in Football.
from being kicked around at Georgia and Called Racial Slurs to being a bonafide Top 3 QB his first year at Ohio State
from being cheated out of a playoff game during OSU vs. Clemson 1
to being an absolute stud playing through cracked ribs in OSU vs. Clemson 2, getting the W! 6TDs!
He was called a slow Processor then PFF proved he was the most accurate and most sophisticated QB in College, on par with Burrow
He was destroyed his 1st Year at Chicago, but the next year he broke an all-time Rushing Record and was named top 100 player in the NFL
Big, Fast, Strong, and Intelligent, scoring the A.I.Q. Highest Score Ever By any Athlete in Any Sport WorldWide
Justin Fields will rise to the top, He will succeed and become a lethal Franchise QB that will rival the best in the League....Lets go Just!
Russ gives them a shot in the playoffs
😂😂
The Russ haters are doing a full on media blitz loool. They hate him as much as they hate Trump! That is crazy to me😂😂
What’s crazy is Russ has haters on both sides of the aisle. The bad liberals who hate him because of his personality and religiosity. The bad bigoted conservatives who don’t want him to threaten their stereotypes about aging mobile QBs who look like him not being smart enough to beat teams from the neck up beyond 35 like a Steve Young, Elway, Big Ben and others still did till 38
@@truthbearer7891 no conservative is saying that about Russ. His biggest haters are lib/ msm types like mina kimes, dan orlovsky, cam newton etc. i saw the corniest white dude on some podcast call Russ corny lol. like wtf am i watching? the hate he gets you would think he's Massage Watson yet ESPN barely even mentions that. Russ triggers the demons.
hope this is what make people realize that Mike Tomlin is not a good head coach
If they haven't by now, people will never catch on...
