You have really opened my eyes to band training, I will admit I’m a firm believer after training with them for the last couple months. I actually use your bands to train my soldiers, it’s an amazing way for them to train anywhere any time. I even had my senior leadership order a set for themselves. Completely invalid. 1) you just add extra tube bands to increase the resistance. 2) Tube bands you don't have to shred your hands and carry around a pair of gloves
He is selling his brand, but loops are superior to tube. That's my opinion though.
Didn´t convince me at all. I´ve had both and enjoyed both. However you can step on both, you can use dooranchors with both. It´s a little - not much - easier to bring the loop-bands to the park, the tubes has more options at home in my experience. It´s easier with the tubes to - in a bicep-curling, for instance - switch from both hands to one - then the other hand. But of course you only sell loop-bands:/
I was told to put door anchor between the door and the jam on the side where the hinges are , it may be a little more difficult to do, but it is a lot safer.
I've enjoyed band training so far, but I found that I had a very difficult time doing deadlifts as my hands were giving out way before my legs. I bought a bar primarily for deadlifts - and it has made a huge difference. I use it for squats sometimes as well. I don't need it so much for upper body, but I found that the resistances I'm using for lower body exercises were just too much for my hands to manage sometimes.
This is why we wear a pair of performance designed workout gloves while training with strength bands.
Haven't watched the video yet, but I'm really fascinated to see whether the guy from Undersun Loop Bands prefers Loop bands or Tube Bands. As a fan of unbiased opinions, I can't wait to hear!!!

I use both and I love it, I also do the door anchor by bodylastics, James your workouts are hardcore and I’m stronger. I went to the gym and was able to push 20 lbs more on all major movements so they work. Prefer my home workouts over gym. I’m also using them at the care facilities I work at.

Bodylastics tube bands all the way. Tried at least 15 brands of tube and loop bands to make this decision. Just as portable as loop bands and provide much more flexibility in my opinion.

Been using your bands for a few years. they were pinnacle to my health when I was stuck at home teleworking for an entire year. Can you do, or point me to, a video where you can demonstrate how to inspect our bands. I understand things get worn out and would like to know when I should replace them.
As you increase the stretch of an elastic band, the increase in resistance is exponential, not linear. So the force as it is stretched is a curve not a straight line. Research Hook's law if you want to get into the weeds.
James I can understand your points about not using a platform (05:22), and it definitely makes sense. Do you find however, that you need to always wear shoes if you want to use your feet to anchor the bands? AND potentially even worry about the pressure that the bands will put on the sides of your shoes? I mean this is why you have those reinforced gloves... but what about for your feet?

Hoop is better than tube. The tubes can snap from handle and its frustrating breaks your training routine. I snapped mine from handle today and now am concentrate on hoop bands instead handles are the weakness
Hi guys, I have two undersun sets! I bought them so I can do bilateral exercises without resorting to single leg, single arm all the time. Its working great with the two door anchors as well. Please do a series of videos where you use two bands to do biulatereal exercises. thank u, I love Undersun

Hi, James - just thought I'd drop by a year after I first came across your channel to credit you for being one of the guys who helped me break free of the mindset that no gym equals no way to train.
Beyond that, I've recently taken to using steel pipes and PVC pipes with my flat bands so my current workouts feel a lot more similar to what I used to do at the gym.

The circular resistance bands can also be stretched for more resistance and /or adding more bands can they ot?
Hey Mario. The lower you anchor your bands, the more resistance is applied. You can add even more resistance by using more than one band at a time.

Pulling on a band with no handle seems awkward.
U get used to it and a feel for it just stay consistent

Undersun bands are easily the best bands I've ever used. Loop style bands are so versatile, and easy to anchor. Tube style bands are really difficult if you can't use the door anchor. And you'll tear them if you overstretch them.

Bodylastics bands have an anti snap system that stops you overstretching them.
Why can’t you just remove the handles on the tube style and grab lower on the tube to add more resistance I’m only asking because I’m thinking about resistance band training and already have the tube style
Yeah I dont know why he didn't try that as other videos show you can just grab the tube itself to add resistance if you dont wanna widen your stance
Hey I'm getting 2 sets of them. Soon as a matter of fact. I can use those in the gym with bars if I like with weights. Or I don't have to and I can do other workouts with them. As a fitness instructor and influencer, I'm trying to get people training with these instead of with weights since its way more flexible, versatile, and portable to use instead of going to a gym. They're getting really expensive too with everything that happened the past 18 months. Hawaii is an old school place so, its tough to get people on board with it, but I think they'll catch on. I don't do much of any weight training anymore since I don't like the constant resistance of the weights anymore as its slow to move, pushing and pulling against gravity to create that resistance, and it stays the same regardless of where the load is. Strength training and building strength is all about leverage. Its so much faster to get the muscles in the proper position to fire and generate as much power as possible, and therefore, build strength. Athletes train for fast, speedy movements, bands allow for that.
I don't like curling a bar with bands because if a band snaps you get a bar in your face.
You can grab the tube style bands without the handles. Tube style with handles much more comfortable to grab than loops. They both have their pros and cons but one is not better than the other.
I believe closed bands have a few limitations compared to open (handled) bands in relation to bilateral anchored fly movements, standing banded overhead crunches, etc.
How so? All those exercises can be executed using loop designed bands.
@@JamesGrageUndersunFitness Sorry for the late reply. I guess spreading out the arms is difficult / imperfect due to the closed nature of looped bands. Here are some examples where Tube bands may be more practical

That said I prefer looped bands over tube bands overall due to the reasons you have already stated.

My only concern is a band breaking while using it maybe me in the eye or chest seen one man not your brand say on some reviews his broke gave him big welp on his chest what makes your brand's material better than your competitors i'm strongly considering purchasing your brand

Glad there are people get it. Tube band works perfect for me, door anchor point lets you do everything. Easy on the hands is a huge plus, I would never want my skin get ripped off or cost extra to buy their glove.
I don’t on any bands yet, and I’ve been researching. I don’t want some thing. I’m going to have to spend good money on. Just replace one year later. I’ve heard of bands coming with lifetime warranties, but not really sure what that pertains. What kind of warranty does Undersun have?
I have a full gym at home and would probably only be using the bands occasional times I go out of town.
Never forget that the rubberbands can get in the wrong time in the wrong direction...direct in your eyes....so never forget that it could be usefull to use glasses..or be carefull with the Trainings with directions in your Facearea. The Rubberbands are not Steelbands and with time it can crash...perhaps in wrong time to the wrong place.
I use the Undersun and love them. I just ordered some tube bands for some triceps exercises as it’s a little difficult due to bad shoulders for me using the flatlands. Cannot recommend enough though. 😊
Yes. This is helpful. I don't know how can i get your resistance band in my country at cheaper price. As after seeing your video i already order resistance tubes cost me ₹1400 only. Sir can you please provide your whole set at cheaper price so i can buy them as i have no job so no money but after seeing your video i get to know that your bands quality is much better than i have.💌

Those handles come off as easy as they go on. Just hold the band.

Unpopular opinion. You can’t build muscle with resistance bands. Change my mind.
ur body doesn't care how you train, it just needs the resistance. it can't differentiate between dumbbells or resistance bands, so you'll gain strength and mass if you're eating enough too as long as you train hard enough.

Been training with bands for a year and pretty good .....but they do seem to pull on my wrists and my bicep tendons causing pain ..why??
Like any style of training, if you do the exercise incorrectly or with poor form, you can place unnecessary stress on joints. With strength bands you want to make sure that you are grabbing the band close to the base of your palm, as opposed to in your fingertips. This way you aren’t putting unnecessary force (leverage) on your wrist

You're back, Wow great, Train occasionally with the bands since gyms reopen. Previously trained with different brands, and after all bought two sets of yours bands .Elite one and orange one. And thinking seriously to switch completly on them. One because trained with the bands all lockdowns periods, second because fully apreciated them when I been diagnosed with rheumatoidal arthrisis last december. And you know?. After back to the gym could lift almost the same weights what I been lifting before. Why?, Because the bands, After diagnosis had a struggle to exercising with the light one , but with the time it's been getting better and better. Now obviously have a some worries that bands really can replace the weights (yes they can , have a prove after each session, hahaha) but at the same time remember one of your podcast where you said ,that you had exactly the same thoughts, so please keep going

Is there any way to buy your bands from Europe to avoid the taxation? I already have the orange ones but I really like the military grade ones.

check out 'gamerbody's channel. He has a mix of 'j handles' and a bar with some triangle hooks that he has used to make the bands more like a standard bar/handle type workout.

forearms should get a workout just from doing a variety of curls and rowing type pulls with the bands. For calves, if you put the band under the balls of the feet (closer to the toes) and do calf pushes, it works the calves. But if the band is under the arch or heel, then it's not really working them. The band has to stretch when you raise your heels in the air. If it's not stretching, it's not working the calves.

Just ordered my second set of U/S bands to have more stacking options and/or to make it easier to swap between exercises. I do use a plate and bar for RDLs as I find it more comfortable on the feet.
Can I use bands for forearms ?
Certainly! Try anchoring your bands to a smooth surface and pull back to tension desired, simply rotate wrist back and forth to target forearms 👊

Wow...- I am such a stupid donkey. I just learned that I can use a door anchor also on the side of the door, not only on the upper/lower end. OMG I never got that in my mind before. How did I survive until now? 😆
I like tubes with handles for lateral raises and basic curls and that's about it.
