My iPhone Camera Is Black! Here’s The Fix.

Apple experts David and David explain what to do when your iPhone camera is black. This problem can be caused by the software or the hardware of your iPhone, so the camera may not necessarily be broken.
First, close and reopen the Camera app. Sometimes a Camera app crash can make it appear black. Similarly, if other software on your iPhone has crashed, you might be able to fix the problem by restarting your iPhone.
Software crashes are also quite common if you use a third-party camera app. Try closing and reopening your third-party camera app if you’re using one. If it continues to crash, just delete it - the built-in Camera app is great on its own.
There are a couple other less common reasons why your iPhone camera is black. If you want to use a social media app like Instagram or Snapchat, you have to give the app permission to access Camera. Otherwise, it may appear black when you’re using the app. Secondly, make sure that you don’t have any active Configuration Profiles that may restrict your Camera access.
If none of the steps above work, backup your iPhone and put it in DFU Mode.
