This game actually has a surprising amount of depth to it in trying to figure out what puzzles to go for, keeping in mind what your opponents have on them, and what pieces to get. Excellent playthrough as always. Been too long since I've watched your content.
I laughed when you got to scoring and had to start pulling out the tiebreaker rules. It's not often those actually come into effect!
I like how fast this game is played.
Wow that was the closest score that I've seen in a while ! well played ! Not going to spoil it ;)
What a finish!
Great to see an extended playthrough! Would you consider doing extended playthroughs for short games like this in the future?
This had an extended playthrough because it was filmed a month before I made the big change and then the project was delayed. I'm not saying I'll never do another extended playthrough, but for now I'm focusing on my new style.
Is that.... is that...is that an extended playthrough?? :О
Yep, I filmed this in early July which was before the change. The publisher decided to postpone the publication which is why it's now coming out a couple months later (and why my hair is so short :P)
Hey Jon, Thx for the vid as always ! Was wondering what you thought of doing more filler-thinker type games to extend the number of vids you put out each month ?
Honestly my schedule these days is 100% dictated by either what wins the Patreon polls or what videos my clients are interested in sponsoring. This means some months happen to be full of heavy games and others have several lighter games happen.
is this an old extended playthrough or are you going to occasionally do more extended playthroughs?
This was recorded in early July and then it's publication was delayed by the publisher. Sorry to get your hopes up :P
I really hope you can do more extended playthroughs in the future. I haven't been able to get into the others. It wouldn't be so bad were it not for the fact you've ruined all the other video content out there for me. Why do they take so long to get started? Why can't they cut things together in a way that keeps things moving quickly?! It's basically only you and Michael Wissner and he's semi retired now. Good luck with everything, I hope you feel better once this Covid nonsense has passed, you seem like a Solar Powered person not a Battery Powered one.
I'm sorry to have spoiled you :P At this point I don't see myself going back to the way things were, I wish I had better news then that for you. I think the short reason why no-one else does it like I did is because it took too much work overall and it wasn't sustainable. I do hope my tutorials come close to scratching that itch, though I knew they are a new thing in comparison.
Thx for the video. I can not find the rule for final scoring to substract the points of the remaining unfinished tiles/puzzles. Where in the rulebook is that?
Hmm, I don't have the final rulebook near my anymore unfortunately to answer you. The publisher didn't correct this though, so I think it's correct.
What's about the ghost pieces and the numbers on the left of the player board?
The numbers on the left of the board are just there as example VP numbers to remind you to put finished tiles there. This tutorial's scope wasn't intended to cover ghost pieces.
