It's easier for students when you show stressing in Russian words.

I'm just a beginner, well, advanced beginner I think... At a tram ride I heard two ladies speak Russian, they recognize that I picked up something. They were learning German and kind of at a similar level. So we talked a bit. Both sides trying to make up for missing vocabulary. But it worked somehow. At least I immediately realized when I used the wrong declination and came up with a workaround for missing vocab. But as you said there are many words which are similar. I used the word (english word) veterinary and just later learned that it's almost the same in Russian.
I made stupid mistakes, but because I hadn't expected to speak Russian and it hadn't happen before. So I was nervous, but I accepted the challenge and survived. 😉

Great story! Very inspiring. Yes, our mindset helps a lot. If we are brave, confident and not stressed out about making the mistakes, our language skills are better automatically.
Good luck at further practicing Russian!

Super...Thanks. I'm a beginner. I've learned the Cyrillic script. I've bought a Russian keyboard for my computer. I bought a book called my first 1000 Russian words. I've learnt a lot of words naming the objects around me. I'm just struggling to connect the words with verbs. I'm just struggling with the grammar, and connective words. I have new friends who have moved in the house across the street from me and they are Russian. They are beautiful people and I'm really enjoying their company, the food and I love the language. That's why I'm learning it. Greetings from England. By the way, I used to be a truck driver. many many years ago I delivered goods to Moscow. I really enjoyed meeting new people there. A couple of times I got lost and people were so kind and really helped me. I was surprised by the amount of people that I met that spoke English. I wish I would've learned to speak Russian 20 years ago. I'm now 56 years old. Better late than never though.Супер. спасибо. привет из Англии 🙏🏻🙋🏻‍♂

I am so happy to hear you had positive experience with Russians. A lot of times we seem reserved. So cool you can exchange a few words with your neighbours in Russian. Please keep it up!
