    This is the Dayz i miss. It just felt different. My little brother would know i was awake at 2:00 a.m playing because he could hear the birds😅 man tho i learned the map by literally running around the entire end zone of the map, all 4 corners it took all day. My dad went to sleep & woke up 6 hours later seen me playing still and said "You're still running?"🤣 My dad doesn't even know the game name Dayz, he calls it "walking & walking."
    I still play Arma 2 to get my nostalgia fix since i dont know how to play the old version, but if you've been playing this game this long than congratulations you should be a DayZ veteran who can easily survive.

      Yeah man this whole game has been cheapened since beta release .63. The movement. The gunplay. Even the raw look of the game has been rubberized so it doesn’t have that gritty look anymore.

So much thrilling situations, saddest deaths and triumphant victories, so much deep talks i've had during running from one place to another, that would switch to tense and strategic fights with other groups...

There’s something so wonderful about the old updates because they were just horrendous especially that super long time we spent in limbo with nothing new happening and the game was so dead I thought a server with 15 people was pretty populated. Just hours spent enjoying the thought I could interact with someone like they did on youtube. 5k hours later and ngl I forgot just how good the old stuff felt to look at and remember those laggy and barely playable gunfights that felt like the world was just the gear on your characters back.

    i personally never have played old dayz but the sounds of the environment really just bring me back to the days of Frankie's Arma2 dayz videos. The zombie sounds, the walking, that wookpecker call. It makes me nostalgic for a version I have never played.

    For me, from 0.45 to 0.62 was Prime DayZ. It is still good, but the old versions were something else. Performance was garbage though, and I am glad that they've switched over to the new game engine. I remember even the most veteran of the veteran players had lost hope in DayZ and quit playing. You had like 900-1k players, and I was also one of those people. There weren't even any news from the developers, leave aside any updates for almost a year. People thought that was it, no more updates, no more news, the devs have given up.
    But out of nowhere, they dropped an experimental update, as I recall correctly, and that was it. That was the bomb. They have revived DayZ with that update, people came back and that was the biggest comeback ever. There was even a controversy about Early Access games being a scam because of DayZ. Good times.
    Elektro and Cherno PVPs were something else. Every server with high player count had clans in both Elektro and Cherno, barricaded in red and green houses.
    Damn...I think I am gonna drop a text wall, better stop now :D

    • @Ueberdoziz
      @Ueberdoziz 6 месяцев назад

      i always liked origins, but prefered to play epoch. special fond memories of the "overpochins" days (overpoch + origins) and then the origins mod team went all out and nuked taviana from 3rd party mods/server. sad times. stopped playing A2 then

    • @wockgod1759
      @wockgod1759 6 месяцев назад

      @@Ueberdoziz Origins was a very interesting mod, I just never got into it. Was the the mod where you could build custom vehicles and stuff? I frankly remember a frankonpc video where they built some sort of helicopter base.
      I preferred semi militarized overpoch chernarus servers. I remember the server I played on had many massive clans/factions that practically controlled entire areas of the map and constant fought each other. I remember we had multiple bases around the massive field south of northeast airfield, complete with machine gun nest and sniper towers. People knew better than to drive/fly through that area or else they’d be lit up from multiple directions lol. That was around 2014-2015 and I’d do anything to go back.

    • @Ueberdoziz
      @Ueberdoziz 5 месяцев назад

      @@wockgod1759 yes indeed. There were Custome vehicles aswell, like some sort of hotrod with a m134 that rises from the hood and the infamous 'turtle' scrap apc/tank.
      All the bildings were prebuilt including a fortress/castle. My biggest gripe Was that you needed to collect stones to build or Upgrade your house, and you were only able to collect them at 2 Places, quarries. Which made sense, but these quarries were heavily camped and your pickaxe could Brake so it was incredibly frustrating to play as a solo to get anything done.
      At least in epoch/overpoch i always felt like i can Do stuff as a solo as there were so many options if you are a bit creative.

    I miss this version so much because of all the hilarious and frustrating moments you could have trying to have a gun fight but also fighting the dayz bugs it had at the time. Middle of a gunfight trying to flank into a 2 story house and break your legs on the stairs out of nowhere. Now you're in a gunfight and you can't walk lol. It was just a magical and wondrous place

    man its so mucn nostalgia i want to tear up lol. Met one of my best buddies on this game (we talk and play games literally every day despite both working almost 60 hours a week), he lives in a separate country and we plan on flying to hang out soon after knowing eachother for 10 years thanks to this game. And to think, i use to be a big time bandit, all it would of taken is shooting him or vice versa and we would of never had that friendship. Games are a trip man, and Dayz TOPS that list. No other game will EVER give me the same feeling that the old DayZ SA does.
