Reading 1
Gn 9:8-15
God said to Noah and to his sons with him:
"See, I am now establishing my covenant with you
and your descendants after you
and with every living creature that was with you:
all the birds, and the various tame and wild animals
that were with you and came out of the ark.
I will establish my covenant with you,
that never again shall all bodily creatures be destroyed
by the waters of a flood;
there shall not be another flood to devastate the earth."
God added:
"This is the sign that I am giving for all ages to come,
of the covenant between me and you
and every living creature with you:
I set my bow in the clouds to serve as a sign
of the covenant between me and the earth.
When I bring clouds over the earth,
and the bow appears in the clouds,
I will recall the covenant I have made
between me and you and all living beings,
so that the waters shall never again become a flood
to destroy all mortal beings."
Responsorial Psalm
Ps 25:4-5, 6-7, 8-9.
R. (cf. 10) Your ways, O Lord, are love and truth to those who keep your covenant.
Your ways, O LORD, make known to me;
teach me your paths,
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my savior.
R. Your ways, O Lord, are love and truth to those who keep your covenant.
Remember that your compassion, O LORD,
and your love are from of old.
In your kindness remember me,
because of your goodness, O LORD.
R. Your ways, O Lord, are love and truth to those who keep your covenant.
Good and upright is the LORD,
thus he shows sinners the way.
He guides the humble to justice,
and he teaches the humble his way.
R. Your ways, O Lord, are love and truth to those who keep your covenant.
Reading 2
1 Pt 3:18-22
Beloved:
Christ suffered for sins once,
the righteous for the sake of the unrighteous,
that he might lead you to God.
Put to death in the flesh,
he was brought to life in the Spirit.
In it he also went to preach to the spirits in prison,
who had once been disobedient
while God patiently waited in the days of Noah
during the building of the ark,
in which a few persons, eight in all,
were saved through water.
This prefigured baptism, which saves you now.
It is not a removal of dirt from the body
but an appeal to God for a clear conscience,
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
who has gone into heaven
and is at the right hand of God,
with angels, authorities, and powers subject to him.
Verse Before the Gospel
Mt 4:4b
One does not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.
Gospel
Mk 1:12-15
The Spirit drove Jesus out into the desert,
and he remained in the desert for forty days,
tempted by Satan.
He was among wild beasts,
and the angels ministered to him.
After John had been arrested,
Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God:
"This is the time of fulfillment.
The kingdom of God is at hand.
Repent, and believe in the gospel." - Кино

The faithful will follow the faithful Shepherds . Thank you Father
Thank you Rev Fr Mark for your homily. Everything you have said is reality in an open book. I now use an alarm clock to wake me up. The mobile alarm was a distraction. It TEMPTED me to look into other apps on the mobile instead of picking up my book to pray my LAUDS.
God bless this young,holy priest!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Saint in the making…he made the beasts jealous after preaching this homily. Father Bernhard is the “David Goggins for my soul”. “Quiet Confidence in our Lord” in combination with “staying hard”, is the goal. I thank God for your homilies when I watch them…Our Lord speaks through you. God Bless you❤

Thank you for an inspiring homily.
Thank you Father. I needed to hear this. It will help me fight my main temptation which to most will seem harmless but to me is hard to resist.
Another great one! Thank you Father Mark
Father Mark:you really got to the source of battling the beast it all starts in the mind and without even noticing we fall into his trap🤦🏻♀️but having faith gives us the courage to face our weaknesses and battle the beast with our prayers🕯I wont be too ambitious in that but its worth trying hallelujah🙏🙏🙏
Beautiful homily how to overcome temptations. Bless you Fr. Mark
Sin is like weeds in a garden. The sins we continue to commit are the weeds in the garden of our soul that God has allowed us to have and we need to continually work on weeding them out of our soul through prayer (Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and Holy Rosary), fasting and almsgiving and availing ourselves of the sacraments.
Super stunning Fr Mark. Missed yr homily. Thank God for Yr holy Priesthood n yr testimony
This is such a powerful message today. It spoke to my heart in an incredibly powerful way and helped me to see the beasts in my life. God bless you.
Powerful homily!!! Thank you!
We missed you, Fr Bernhard. One week without a new homily, and something feels missing.
†JMJ †
Amen.
🙏Come Holy Spirit.
Wow! Thank you, Fr. Mark.
Im an artist i did not know that painting .i believe Michael angelo was a devout catholic. The pieta is the greatest masterpiece in art history he did it when he was 24.
What an excellent homily Father. I've studied Kempis and I believe this is the first time I've heard the quote you presented. It won't be the last.
Thank you Father Mark, I just got that book On st anthony you mentioned in the Homily. If anyone is interested its called "The life of st Anthony of Egypt" by St anthanasius.
Please Father, please pray for me as this picture fully explains my life. I do not think I am doing well! 🥺 However, your will be done Jesus! Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ!❤️🔥🩸
Amazing 🏴🇬🇧🙏
Thank you! 🙏❤️🙏
Thank you Fr. Mark ✨
I thank God for you ❤
Wonderful homily. I so do appreciate yours. I go to a certain Church every year for Ash Wednesday (& some days during Lent…) & I am always alarmed by the Priest here that tells us the length of time of his homilies (between 3 & 10 minutes). I don’t belong to one Church. I Church hop bcuz the degrees of watered down mess most NO Masses are here in Boston. It’s hard to find a reverent one…so I go to at least 6 of them. The most reverent are a TLM & a NO…but that one is in complete Spanish. The others are all across the board. Serious Catholics want to be fed & led by their shepherds. We are not getting this in the way we should in the north east. Substance over time, everytime. 🙏🏽✝️🕯❤️🔥🕊
Try going to the Divine Mercy Shrine in Stockbridge, MA. Truly divine place.
@@petefalcone435 It sure is…but is waaaaay far from Boston 😩
Do live-stream mass at the shrine mentioned and livestream daily mass at the Lady of the Gulf church. Father Mike O’ Connor gives great homilies .
The most imp part of mass is receiving Jesus in the Eucharist who gives us himself to guide our journey back home. ❤
@@heleneasley9530 Thank you! I do enjoy Father Mike’s homilies as well. He’s a great priest! 😇☺️
Bless you!!
The demon in the lower right of that painting! That one is haunting. That's the one I feel is the most infectious and spiritually dangerous.
Amen. 🙏
Please keep posting, Love Father Mark, from Omaha, Ne
🙏🎯
Great stuff 👏 where can I get a print of that pic please
He is sooooooo Handsome…WoW
I wish I knew how I could get a card with that picture on it. I hope somebody can let me know.
How can I get that picture of St. Anthony?
Where do you get that card?
That painting gives rise to much thought. I have a poster of Jesus' body post scourging, which also pull at the heart and soul.
Father Bernhard, I have a flip phone that does not have all the extras, just rings, and text capablility. That's it! Maybe you could look into changing your phones out and you will save time and money and have a better feeling in your life. Jesus will smile too.
So tired of hearing about the devil
Most inspiring heart stirring homily. Missed you Fr. Mark.
The video is a little grainy. Can I come and fix it, clean or replace the lense.
