Sirui SNIPER 16mm and 75mm f1.2, I wish they make them in MFT. - RED35 Review

- *Correction - I said Nightwalker in the video because I got confused with their cine line, I meant Sniper* A sequel to the original trio of Sniper lenses from Sirui. Now we have a wider 16mm and a longer 75mm. Both have been updated and enhanced, in short, I am really surprised to see. This is not a sponsored video and I am only reviewing the pre-production samples. Please check their Indiegogo page for more information.

You are not the only user request that, many m4/3 user request Sirui release their sniper lens for m4/3 mount, but since they have no plan or reject to make it
Does it work well with a MFT converter?
edit: adapter*
Hi! Is the performance in video AF comparable to others native lenses?
Comparable but then again, even native lenses have faster and slower ones. It's quite hard to compare them like that. All I can say is that they are adequately fast for most video use.
@@Red35Photography thanks
do they have it for canon rf?
There is really not a big need for these lenses in MFT. They would be competing with the Sigma 16/1.4, and Olympus 75/1.8. I already have the Sigma 16 in MFT, and the Olympus 75 is legendary, a lens I drool over, and one day will buy.
Those are the snipers though right ?
Yes, I kept calling them Nightwalkers. I put a note in the video description to correct my mistake.
Hello dear friend!
Please answer, you have taken many photos with different photo lenses, and in your opinion, which lens will be better, preferable in sharpness, drawing. Panasonic Leica DG 25mm f/1.4 Summilux asph II, or Olympus 25mm f/1.8 M.Zuiko
And which lens of these did you choose for yourself.
Thank you in advance for your answer!
I bought them both and chose the Pana/Leica for my Olympus bodies. It is super sharp and the Mk II version is splash proof while the Olympus 25mm f1.8 isn’t.
@@federicoalberto66 Dear friend, there are many reviews on the web about the Panasonic Leica DG 25mm f/1.4 and Olympus 25mm f/1.8 M.Zuiko, and many users note that the sharpness across the entire frame is better with the Olympus 25mm f/1.8 M.Zuiko. Is this true or not?
@@user-ww4cg8zy4j not in my experience. I returned the Oly after a week’s use. The Pana/Leica 25mm f1.4 is among the sharpest MFT lenses available. It even gives the oly 25mm f1.2 pro a run for its money. I do have this version too and believe me, it’s hard to tell the difference.
I have a more practical take on this. PanaLeica 25mm sits in the middle in price. Olympus 25mm 1.8 is the cheapest, PanaLeica in the middle and the top of the range Olympus 25mm 1.2 Pro. I have all three (sold the PanaLeica) and here's my take. PanaLeica is good, I reviewed it and you can see my original video. The mark II version improves mostly on build only. It has a unique draw for sure and I like very much. The reason I sold is that the Olympus 25mm pro is way better (ok, heavier, bigger and more expensive), but it's also super rugged and has a manual clutch for filming. While PanaLeica is good, I also have the cheaper 1.8. So there's no point in keeping all three lenses. If you want to choose between the Oly 25mm 1.8 or PanaLeica 25mm 1.4, well, I would take the more expensive one and you won't regret it. A word of notice is that PanaLeica works better in Lumix bodies. There's too much purple fringing in Olympus bodies when shooting in 1.4, something that is quite destructive that I can't rescue in postproduction.
@@federicoalberto66 Dear friend, thank you for your reply and participation.
Good luck!
Jimmy, you have the contacts with the brands, just ask them to make an m4/3 version. Should be pretty easy even if it's an APS-C version, not one made for m4/3 especially.
I have been asking for a while, let's keep our fingers crossed. Though, this is the first time I see them good enough to be made into M43. As you know, cropping further will 'expose' a lens' weaknesses if not careful.
@@Red35Photography actually APS-C lens should perform better on an m4/3 body because you will not use the extreme corners of the lens.
Of course, but also magnifying the centre, so while it looks sharp in APS-C, it may not look as sharp in MFT
@@Red35Photography well for sure the latest Fuji cameras with their 40mp sensors are with higher density than current mass m4/3 products. If the lenses are made good enough to cover the latest APS-C sensor there will be no issue with the m4/3 I think.
New releases for the MFT have been very disappointing in recent years. Except for voigtlaender 29 and leica 25-50, there is nothing else to mention
Jimmi, you not in trend again) yesterday almost all RUclips vloggers were going crazy for new Pentax 17 film camera.
Well let's say not everyone, but those who are interested in a film camera.
Crap camera !
Like Viltrox and Sigma, Sirui seems to have given up on MFT. Better buy Laowa and Neewer, before they also stop making AF MFT lenses.
As I see it, Lens makers are not longer that interested in making Lenses for MTF, the market have shrunken too much.
I hope they make a MFT version!
This set of lenses is definitely something I am interested in. That said, the ZFc body I dream of having is the body with the white leatherette. That with this sniper series in white would be gorgeous. #dreamkit
