  • While at the Wheelin' With Warriors, some one mentioned to me that I had smoke coming out of my tailpipe. They said my rings probably were worn. To me it looked like white smoke. The engine was running a little warm. It seemed to only blow the smoke when it was on the verge of over heating. In this video, I try to find the mystery of the higher than comfortable temperature. I'm not sure I exactly solved the problem, but it is no longer getting too warm and no longer blowing white smoke.

I don't remember the exact one I used. i did a quick search and found the TRQ RCA90781 on 1aauto.com that should work just fine. Something to know, I don't believe this was my overheating issue. i think the issue was a proper coolant flush of the engine would have fixed it.

Simpler fix is when installing the new thermostat ...drill a 1/32 hole in the upper most part of the thermostat. This prevents it from hydrolocking which prevents thermostat from opening even when New.

Since there is no intro.......After the "taking half his jeep apart" montage at 2:27 he says he's checking the thermostat. Good job batman.

Actually, I wasn't taking it out to check the overheating. I was actually taking the whole engine out to replace it.
