      Have you seen any tarantulas or similar types of big spiders?

    • @christopherliston2371
      @christopherliston2371 3 года назад +6

      @@michip.904 No Tarantulas, they do have palmetto bugs which are big roaches, gross but harmless. It's the Best Town in America.

      @@christopherliston2371 That sounds great. I heard it's expensive though. Is it still possible to afford the cost of living with a normal job like an accountant or policeman for instance?

    • @christopherliston2371
      @christopherliston2371 3 года назад +3

      @@michip.904 absolutely. It's the South, so the cost of living compared to the north or west coast is substantially less. I've got a friends that were Cops, Fireman and they have a great life, nice houses etc. Downtown real estate is expensive and so the housing has risen, but all in all it's not that bad.Traffic is getting worse with the growth but there are some wonderful neighborhoods, and the people are great.

      @michip.904 3 года назад +4

      @@christopherliston2371 thanks a lot for the inside. 👍 Unfortunately the cost of living is getting higher everywhere. I'm not to worried about traffic as I'm used to much worse here in Berlin. 🙂

    This is by far the best video I have seen. Lovely music, fabulous scenery and comprehensive information. I’m so tired of watching videos showing little of the place and mostly featuring the faces of the presenters and what they had for lunch. Well done, and thank you very much.

    I think Charleston is on the top of aesthetically pleasing cities in America. I wish more cities would take a lesson from Charleston, St. Augustine, Alexandria Virginia and places the like of that.

      Charm is directly proportional to vintage. Pretty much every city built post WW2 was designed and constructed with the automobile in mind and that is why they feel like places to escape from. Like Dallas for instance, near where I reside. Or Phoenix.
      Me and my wife are planning a visit to Charleston the end of the month and we can hardly wait.

    There is so much to love about Charleston, but I think East Bay from Waterfront Park down to White Point Gardens on the Battery is my favorite section. Don't miss Spoleto from the Friday of Memorial Day weekend to the finale at Middleton Place on the 2nd Sunday of June. There are so many great eats, great history and architecture, and the friendliest people I America. I have been to all 50 states and it is my favorite city in the country. The only thing that keeps it from perfection is the sultry heat/humidity/hurricane danger from July thru September.

    I am not sure why a city would apologize for a role in the slavery trade. Don't get me wrong, I hate the history of slavery in this country, but WE as current citizens did not have a hand in these atrocities and our history needs to be preserved so that we don't EVER repeat the mistakes that our ancestors made.

    • @josephturner1834
      @josephturner1834 2 года назад +8

      History is still being preserved. Not sure how apologizing for slavery is preventing that from happening...If anything, there are too many people who would prefer to act if is slavery never happened. They're the ones who don't want to preserve our history.

    • @merchalc1115
      @merchalc1115 Год назад +1

      @@josephturner1834 I don’t think there are many people who don’t acknowledge that slavery existed. I don’t know what you’re talking about. All my man was saying is it’s a little strange to apologize for something you played no role in. No one alive today played a role in the slave trade. Just seems like virtue signaling.
