Joe Walsh lived two doors down from me on the 4th floor of McDowell Hall at Kent State University in 1966-67. He was also in the university marching band! Betcha didn’t know that 🎉
Ohbaow!! I lived in Warren ohio for years and didnt even know he was so close!!!!
I’ve worked with Joe quite a few times. He’s a genuine gentleman! He’s a little crazy too, but aren’t we all?🎶
He is an awesome comedian on stage. Was entertaining when I first some him in 78'.
Keep reminding Joe that he looks like somebody's grandma....he gets a kick out of that 🤣
love when he tries to talk like Tommy Chong
Indeed. 😻
Ed Wuncler: he better not get crazy cuz IM A LITTLE CRAZY !!
No matter how bad things got one of my friends always smirked and said "life's been good so far" and light up a joint!
Good mate always comes to the rescue
Sounds like a very good friend!
Good friend with good outlook and a happy little tree to help. Not bad.
Thats the way it goes!!!❤❤
Favorite Joe Walsh song and favorite one released in 1978!!
78? Im glad to see you post this
what i like about joe is that he doesn't care if you like his music. eventually you will find HIM.
Say it loud!!! Thats so true!! I've always loved him!!!
Saw Joe Walsh and Foreigner in Tulsa, OK in 87...... It was awesome and I REALLY wish kids today could experience the greatness that is this kind of music in a live setting. It’s timeless and I consider myself very lucky.
Thanks to the Coronavirus, no one is experiencing music in a live setting :(
Well, as a kid of today, I very much enjoy this song
@@Heropsychodream it wasn't the coronavirus, it was the people needlessly locking us down
Thanks for your love and support ♥️
Saw Joe with the Eagles last week. Expected a good show from some aging rockers. They fucking killed it. Never saw them in their prime but damn….it was a fantastic show. Vince Gill was a good fit (though would have preferred Glen Frey who could not be there for obvious reasons) Deacon Frey, Glen’s son jumped in for a handful of songs.
1978 lives forever! It's 2023 just a few days short of the New Year 2024 and this songs sounds as great today as it was back in the day.
💯 been listening to this gem and a few other Eagles recordings this week for some reason . . . long live 1978
@@kevintucker466 😁
That's the way Joe. He lived it like we wished. God bless
One of my favorite songs from the summer of 1978. The other two were Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty and The Groove Line by Heatwave, but this definitely ranks up there. Glad I was around then to enjoy such great music.
and then the 80s!
The summer I was introduced to Genesis, ELO, and forever Joe Walsh. I had seen him in the James Gang- this song forever cemented him into my artist lists.
I'm happy to be in this age where all this amazing music is right at my fingertips. Thank you for your stories
My Wife brackets 1964-1974 as the best decade of Rock 'n Roll. I'm 2 years older, my range is '56 all the way through Sublime. My two Sons, grew up listening to classic rock and have kept my Wife's and my tastes from stagnating. A friend of mine, my Son's age, turned me on to " Choices ("Nope, Yup", one of the coolest, of newer music sssI've heard (new to me anywa y). Life's been Good to me, too. So far

@@sues3466wow, that’s a summer to remember. Clearly. - a jealous millennial
I was born in 1988. This song was my first proper introduction to classic rock. I still love it dearly these 36 years later.
Born in 85. Glad my folks were into great music. I believe we’re going to be one of the last generations to keep classic rock alive!
@@lynch42o I wouldn't worry too much: I've got friends and family my age who have kids, and their kids are really into classic rock.

A scent of '70s is coming back and a stuff taken is hitting you thoroughly once more...
Bruno Mars went full 70’s with Silk Sonic
Raised on this music and it's never gets old. My dad played in a band 27 years ago and I remember him and his crew playing and practicing music all the time. Good ole days. One of the songs that I remember..

Classic music will never go away
One absolute CLASSIC from summer 1978 that will NEVER get old. Recently heard Simon Bates make an absolute HASH of playing this in a Top 20 off an old tape. Why he broke it off in the middle of it god damn him.
He was famous for that he seemed to have a knack for pissing people off he always chopped Marc Bolans Get it on... or shortened the playing time. he was a real pain for this stunt!!👿👿👿👿👿👿
The opening line "I have a mansion" is about a mansion he used to own back in the day. The mansion is located in Westminster Vermont, and i've been inside it. Its not far from my house. It's abandoned and has been for 25 years.
i want to buy it wtf
@@Tyler-ep8py Me too if I had the money. It's an old one built in 1900 it's really nice but sadly its seen better days.
I heard him in an interview , say that his wife and kids were there (living in the mansion) one year, and he toured 285 days of that year... I think it was when Hotel California came out and the touring was heavy.
Yes, the next line in the song is "I've never been there they tell me it's nice" cause he was touring so much....during that time, my dad had two buddies who were brothers that lived a few miles down the road from the mansion and they went there one summer and trespassed just to basically be kids and get into mischief....guess Joe's security didn't take it too fondly lo
@@tommulford7138 That's very interesting, did they get caught by security? You said you'd been inside, what did it look like? I imagine the one in Beverly Hillbillies, ha... Or that awful one in the movie "The Money Pit."
Love u hubby and thank you everyone who came through my life and add that special times in it.
This is to be played at my funeral in da future. I lived, loved and laughed.
💋💋💋❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍💯🇺🇸💋
Thanks for your love and support ♥️
Yes, Joe is THE classic rock star with an overload of real talent AND charm
This is at the top of my list for my funeral
I love Joe's obvious love for youngsters like his godson (Roy Orbison 3) and the look on his face at the Marae in Hastings NZ when the ukettes finish playing Hotel California - just a shame those NZ gangs are so hypocritical but great the Joe has put drugs well in his past !
Life's been good to me so far 💕
You are so so right Joe. Life has completely lost its “Mojo” (my fav word !) this is a analog world. All this digital has taken away this worlds effort. Wish you were my friend 😊
What a wonderful guitarist I have loved this man for 35years hope he lives for another 40 u are a superstar
He's face is scary asf !! Plastic surgery made him look like an old woman 😵
Growing up in the 70s and hanging out at Tape Town Audio, our city’s first record store was a wonderful experience. Watched the Gong Show and walked around listening and looking at the albums and promo stuff every day after school. It was a great time. Thanks Dad.

Thank God for joe walsh. Life has really been good to me. I cant complain but sometimes i still do❤
Saw the Eagles at Bank Atlantic Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale in 2009 and Joe Walsh was in the band, He played this song. It was AWESOME!!
Great memories here. I was in my late teens then , music was GREAT and have been a die hard fan of Joe. Walsh's music. Be nice too turn back the hands of time ( music )....Thank you Joe 👍💚🙏💚👍
I always like the jump from electric to acoustic at the beginning. And the little 'pop' sounds near the end.
I have a mansion, forget the price
Ain't never been there, they tell me it's nice
I live in hotels, tear out the walls
I have accountants pay for it all
They say I'm crazy but I have a good time
I'm just looking for clues at the scene of the crime
Life's been good to me so far
My Maserati does one-eighty-five
I lost my license, now I don't drive
I have a limo, ride in the back
I lock the doors in case I'm attacked
I'm makin' records, my fans they can't wait
They write me letters, tell me I'm great
So I got me an office, gold records on the wall
Just leave a message, maybe I'll call
Lucky I'm sane after all I've been through
(Everybody say, "I'm cool, " "He's cool")
I can't complain but sometimes I still do
Life's been good to me so far
I go to parties sometimes until four
It's hard to leave when you can't find the door
It's tough to handle this fortune and fame
Everybody's so different, I haven't changed
They say I'm lazy but it takes all my time
(Everybody say, "Oh yeah, " "Oh yeah")
I keep on goin' guess I'll never know why
Life's been good to me so far
Ah, yeah, yeah
Joe walsh!!
I love the acoustic guitar in the song
Same with me, Mason
I listened to this damm good music at the shuttle bus in the morning while I was in Anaheim for attending Winter Namm. 15 years ago, I really missed those beautiful days.
Thanks for your love and support ♥️
Eagles had to be the greatest collection of talented musicians ever! The proof is obvious when observing how they did as solo artists! My favorite band of all time and Joe Walsh was a big reason why! Rest In Peace, Glen Frey!
I remember when this song came came out , it was awesome then and even better now !
Such a classic piece.
Life keeps going on and this song at times becomes hard to play. That's how it is.
Cheer up, Brian 🌦🙂🌤 There always has been, and always will be, better times ahead
The life of a rock star. Everyone's fantasy.
Its a rocking roll fantasy!!!!❤
One of the first concerts I ever went to when I hit my teens, Joe Walsh was great.
This song is perfection defined.
This is a timeless jam from a true legend. He was always tremendous before he went to the Eagles. A real musician!! O, Oh, here comes a flock of wah, wahs!!!! 😂

Joe is the best. Lived when a lot of rockers at his level of imbibing did not fare well. So this is more than a rock song, Joe is a musical supreme star with a great sense of humor and a great song.

26 years old , me & my kids love jamming to this song.
Hey 🌹 all love and how are you doing today
This song hit the nail on the head. I had so many speeding tickets that I ended up going for years with no driver's license. Now I'm too old to look good in an orange jumpsuit. I drive the speed limit. :(
LOL, I was pulled before the Beak and pleaded NOT GUILTY to one of the 35 Traffic Violation's" I explained I couldn't provide a Driver's licence as I didn't have one ! They let me off that count so I was only 'Hit' with 34 ! I then went to my car {parked in the Police Station} and drove to the Pub and home. LOL Drug's, Booze & Rock n Roll. Those were some 'good time's.
PS, I ride my Electric Bike now. Driving scare's me. {I'm 75}
Lol, me too, 73 in a 55.....February of 2000 I was 16

Besides the awesome guitar soloing, there's a real human drummer playing here. That's why it sounds so damn good. Analog man.

He may have helped write walk away funk #49 and others for other bands but he saved the best for himself

Of all the guitar players I have seen perform, and I've not seen them all but I have seen some pretty good ones, I have to rank Joe Walsh as #1. The guy plays absolutely effortlessly and to total perfection. Like his new tune "One day at a time" also.

The best string bender ever (yeah I know Eddie VH and Steve Vai and Billy Gibbons could bend strings too [and the two Jimmys weren't so much about that] and all the other great guitar masters). But I consider him the best string bender ever. Not that there aren't many great famous string benders. You can find videos of him explaining intonation with great passion. He's brilliant.
For my money I'd give it to Mark Knopfler but Joe turns em into rubber!

In real life I compare myself to Joe's song in that I've been lucky all my life...so far. I'm 72 now but I survived 3 tours in Vietnam & nearly 5 years smuggling contraband into Mexico.
