  • 💚💦 It really is Emerald colored!
Welcome to Emerald Cove, one of the most epic paddle board adventures we’ve done in Arizona!
🏄 We love our IRocker Blacken SUPs, and try to put them in the water wherever we can! Check out our favorite IRocker paddle boards here: tinyurl.com/3s...
Our time in Yuma is over but we’ve got a couple more AZ adventures to show you before we make it to Oregon for the summer. First stop is Willow Beach Campground in northwest AZ, which is part of the Lake Mead Recreation Area.
🟢 Emerald Cove gets its name from the brilliant, greenish hues that light up the water when the sun’s at just the right angle. Emerald Cove is a small notch in the Colorado River canyon wall with the closest access point being Willow Beach Marina located on the Arizona side of the river.
🌊 It’s slightly challenging as you have to paddle 2 miles to the cove and 2 miles back. Just make sure to bring lots of water and sunscreen! There are also several guided Kayak tours that will take you to Emerald Cove. Or you can rent your own equipment from Willow Beach Marina.
❤️ Such a beautiful location and adventure. Highly recommend checking out Emerald Cove!

Went once in 2020 looking to go back this year. It's one of the prettiest places I've ever seen.

    Hi guys... great upload 🎆
Did you guys go July of last year? & was the water greenest when you guys made it to Emerald Cove, or as you guys were leaving?

    • @ProjectRVLivingLost
      @ProjectRVLivingLost  Год назад +1

It sure how much time of year changes the water color but we were there in June. The river is pretty clear normally but you definitely know when you’ve hit Emerald Cove because the greenish color is so drastic!

Since I wanted to go to a basketball game at Mandalay Bay Tuesday night.... I hit up Willow Beach that afternoon starting from Orange County, CA at about 7AM.
It was 110 degrees so I felt like I was going to pass out getting sunscreen on & the board inflated.
I thought I had inflated it enough, but then another visitor had a powered pump which showed that I only had put 2 PSI 💀, so his machine filled it up to 12.
The moment your legs feel the cold water, it immediately becomes so much easier to breathe!
The headwinds were quite frequent, so it took me 2 hours to get to Emerald Cave, but it was empty so it was pleasant having it all to myself for about 15 minutes.
The return paddle took maybe 45 minutes.
& luckily traffic in that region is minimal so getting back to Vegas was a cinch.@@ProjectRVLivingLost

It's gonna be really hot in that canyon at Willow Beach in August. But, you do have the river to cool down. Just make sure to stay hydrated out there! 💦

I think it was a Tuesday in June. All of the guided tours keep it pretty busy in the summer.

@@ProjectRVLivingLost OK, I was planning on going in June too. I thought it may have have been less busy in a week day. Do I still have to reserve a paddle board ahead of time if I don't want to go on a tour or can I just show up and rent one?
