- A cover of SOS by ABBA, recorded and filmed live in the studio by Last Band On Earth (the Elsenburg family band) during the 2020 lockdown. This is the tenth video in our Live In The Studio series.
A little bit about Last Band On Earth:
Hi everyone, we are the Elsenburg family. Daddy Elsenburg is a gigging musician and runs a band practice workshop for children and adults. When the Covid 19 pandemic hit, the only band he could still safely play in was his family band with his son and daughter. We came up with the name Last Band On Earth and have been recording videos for fun, as a cool way to learn music for the children, and also for you. We hope they can help to brighten your day!
as allways you guys capture my unknown inclinations I never knew I had for this favorite song, slowing it down a little brought out all the syncopated brilliance I didnt realize even was there, now, thanks to you, in my mind, has led to what would, if I let it, also, somehow have a chance, to sing to me and though I scoff, also, likely would allow to sos, exist...

Thank you Andrew! No, I made it up. I used a capo and I tuned the G string up a semi-tone, if I remember correctly. If you want to know precisely I'll check, ok?

@@SebastiaanElsenburg - Hi, well I'm not very knowledgeable regarding effects, being mostly an acoustic player so far, but it was clear to me that the vocals were being manipulated to get that lovely, huge sound! Great work, may we have more please? New Sub!

This little girl's vocal phrasing is compelling for the style portrayed here. 'Cute little girl voice' paired with an extremely interesting presentation. I don't know if it was intentional, but the entire stripped down package worked well for this song. It's like there was an added innocence to the lyrics ... Very Cool !!!
