Love the bike! I'd leave the baffle out. It sounds better and that type of baffle is junk (too much baffle). I use the lollipop type on my shovel. The 2 into 1 pipes will help with back pressure. The baffle will give you more mid-range torque. You will feel the difference.
Tatro machine can tell you anything you need to know about the older harleys.....anything Thank you for your service dude...new sub here man, keep doing harley videos man...
I'd be really surprised if the nylocs vibrated loose. Are you sure it didn't slip your mind to tighten them, perhaps you didn't finish tightening them because you were distracted for some reason or another? It happens.
No, because it was fine a few weeks ago and progressively started backfiring over the course of two different rides. They have to be backing out or (like you said) I missed something and they eventually worked loose because the bands weren't tight enough.
Hey brother, with the bike running you should spray some carb cleaner right where they seat and if the bike reacts in any way you know there is a leak.
Thanks for the vids, On “ the old mans shovel” vid. Q the front wheel i think is a 21”? Wondering what the width is? Thank you in advance. Have a 73 FLH really like that look.
Hi Brandon, i have a 73 flh, has s&s flywheels, Q- 3 marks on wheels F. R. TF what mark is used for static timing? Also looking into timing hole should the proper mark be seen left side of the hole, center or right side of the timing hole?? Trying to get mine running like you guys shovels. Thanks in adv mike terry
Here in California, the Highway Patrol will chase you around if they don't see any baffles in your pipes. I'm running two baffles in each pipe. They're happy. Still sounds ok in my videos. Your bike does have a good sound without, but you'll notice the difference going downhill and on de-cell
Man california sucks. I put screamin eagle pipes on my evo softail and its loud! Has baffles in it too. One thing i have noticed is that cars notice me earlier and better. With the stock pipes its kinda more dangerous haha!
So much better without the baffle. Love it!
Agreed

Get some torque cones it should fix any backflow issue they're not very expensive and it worked on my 77' FXS lowrider with the same 2 into 1 exhaust.
Good to know. Thanks

You guys have a recommendation for a new wheel type?

Check out FNA Custom Cycles “tite seals” intake seals. I’ve ran them on all my shovelheads, never had an issue.
Will do! Thanks!

I used to live in California, so I get it lol

Your dad seems to be with you
Huh?
BRAYDON RUN YOUR SHOVEL WITH DRAG PIPES!!!! WHEN YOU HEAR THE VAVLES FLOATING GIVE HER THE NEXT GEAR IT WILL BE FINE
No baffle brother .
You have enough threads left for a jam nut. Baffles are for girls. You may need to rejet your carb. Ogre eye nacelles are mega cool. Semper Fi MARINE.
Good idea
shovel heads don't need back pressure
unless you're trying to go high HP etc etc on a 74".... who gives a fuck about back pressure and all that. Let it rip.
That's what I like to hear! Lol
Without.
Leave'er open bud baffles are lame! What's the saying loud pipes save lives or some shit
Yea, that's what they say lol
Dear GAWD, don`t say WOKE!
(Jeez)
Huh?
