    0:48 Just noticing that you seem to have cut an extra piece that is not in the pattern or the rest of the video. Nice pattern regardless, I am going to be making it on my next weekend off.

      I noticed that too. That long piece with all the holes along both sides. I watched the entire video and can't see where it was used and it's not a piece in my pattern. Good way to confuse people.

    Tip: If you pass the needle through the tail of the thread three times, it won't pull out of the eye as you sew.

    Работа замечательная, чувствуется рука мастера! Иногда, что бы что то отрезать всё таки лучше использовать ножницы, а не нож.

    Which color dye was used on the Celtic knot design?

    • @CreativeAwl
      @CreativeAwl  Год назад

      It has been dyed in a tannery. It's uragano, crazy horse leather available in our store. Color inferno.

    Tip: If you don't pull the first needle tight, leaving a loop, then after passing the second needle through, you then pass it through the loop, same direction each time, either up or down, then you'll get a constant slope to the stitching, and a professional-looking saddle stitch.

      with the larger holes like this, it really does not matter, it straightens out when you pull snug.. those are 1.5mm hole punched holes, not stitching chisel holes.. Have made a bag with the holes like this, and did do what you describe.. made no difference at all.. as long as one is consistent with how they do the stitches, it will come out fine, just without the slant that one would get with proper stitching chisel holes.

    Tip: a Kam Green Machine rivet-setter creates a far better domed rivet head than hammering does.

      Of course it do, we just want show that everyone can do it without proper tools.

      @@CreativeAwl Certainly, but it might be a thought to do some skilling-up videos, the use of stitching groovers to protect the thread, edge-polishing, etc. Beginners needn't stay that way forever.
