I am new to the hobby and just found your videos, thanks for making them, they are fantastic and so well edited! I had a beginner question, where do you get the white pieces you use to mark the shapes on the leather and what are they made out of (plastic, cardboard)? I saw the pdf oatterns you sell but didn't see those pieces for marking the leather anywhere..
Thank you for watching and complimenting. I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly. I'm not sure exactly what the white pieces refer to. If my answer is wrong, please tell me the time when the white pieces appear. I pasted the pattern in the PDF onto thick paper and cut it into that shape. You can choose thick paper according to your preference. I hope this answer is correct.
@@plan.b At 0:33 you have some white pieces, I was wondering what they were. They look quite sturdy so I thought maybe they were plastic or some kind of material that had been molded into the necessary shapes for this wallet.

Dude, that's a fantastic job with much attention to details! Really like it! And from the filmmaking side of things, you have a great lighting setup, may I ask what lighting do you use and how you positioning it? Cause your shot of stamp pressing is damn good, mine is always way to dark :( If you are interesting in an exchange of RUclips experience, maybe we could have a more private conversation? :)
hi! Thank you for your positive evaluation of my video. The lighting I use is called “GODOX UL150”. I use two. And I use small LED lights as auxiliary lights when needed. The lighting angle is basically positioned at a 45 degree angle on both sides of the front. That's it. I think the reason the video is dark is either because the lighting is poor or the camera settings are dark. :)
@@plan.b thanks mate! Really interesting, I have an Aputure 200d head with a soft box on it, and I’ve placed it right above the table, cause my table is placed near the wall. But yeah, a bit struggling with this setup. Cause even when overall image is a bit darker, same time my hands is over exposed. Need to test different angles I guess.
I don’t think there is a right answer because each person’s environment is different. I think we need to find the optimal exposure by making a lot of changes. I hope you succeed. :)

You are right. Leather sold in pieces is more expensive. But for me, buying 3 different colors of leather to make this small card wallet is too much. If I had planned on making this card wallet and selling it over and over again, I would have purchased all three colors of leather. I think it's not a bad idea to buy carved leather to experience different types of leather. Thank you for telling us your opinion.

What was the last liquid that you dabbed on the edges at the very end?
I use three materials when finishing leather cross sections.
1. Tokonole
2. Water-based Glue + water (1:1 ratio) - This mixture helps the last applied chemical to adhere well to the leather.
3. Lastly, there is “wax coat”. - This chemical provides a transparent coating. It is similar to finishing with wax. I use it for a natural finish.

Where do you get small size/cut leather?
I purchased it at a local store. Here is Korea. I was planning to hold an event where I would make purchases on my behalf, but the overseas shipping costs were too expensive so I thought it would be better not to do it.
I did a search and found that it is also sold overseas. I'll leave a link in the description~
I have gotten some small panels from Rocky Mountain Leather Supply that were very nice quality. Something like Buttero or Minerva smooth would be pretty similar to what he uses in this video I think (But I'm no expert.)
I see in his description he actually did use Minerva, so you could get the stuff he used in the video.
I'm not an expert either. I have a question. Can you tell the difference between Minerva and Minerva smooth? Minerva smooth is not available in my country. However, if you look at the images, there seems to be a slight difference, but I don't know because I haven't actually compared it. I feel like Minerva smooth has a little more shine.
@@plan.b I realized my order says Minerva Smooth. I think maybe they are the same thing, though. I can't see a difference between what I have and the leather in your video.

Dude, that's a fantastic job with much attention to details! Really like it! And from the filmmaking side of things, you have a great lighting setup, may I ask what lighting do you use and how you positioning it? Cause your shot of stamp pressing is damn good, mine is always way to dark :(
If you are interesting in an exchange of RUclips experience, maybe we could have a more private conversation? :)

That must be THE most expensive way to buy leather. I can get sq ft pieces more than half the price that that mob charge.
Not to mention that a case with room for nothing but f 3 credit cards is pretty useless for most men.
