only usa has to deal with this packaging as apparently the USA market likes that. in the rest of the world is just the car cased in plastic protection inside the small box. much better for packaging IMO, for consumer and shipping costs
Absolutel facts!
I think it's part of US Regulation for selling small model car
Indonesia get some of this blisters packaging, but the price is much higher 😭.
Ah and also rarer than the small box packaging
As a U.S collector... yes, I love the plastic display. I don't wanna open my collection... now live and let live 🙌😁
Mini gt kills premium hotwheels.
Absolutely
I'd definitely prefer to see less wasteful packaging from Mini GT and some of the other die cast car manufacturers. We don't need to be using so much plastic for these things. I also dislike that you have to destroy the plastic clam shell to get the car out and it's also a pain to get those things open. The Inno64 style boxes are nice and seem to be the best packaging available at this time for both storage and display and with less plastic waste.
i like it because i get to see if the damn thing has flaws first. when they come in the box, it's a crap shoot. but i agree the new Tarmac style is nice because you get it all - the box but the view, so it's all more flexible.
Haha, that's a good point too!
YES. I got a miniGT with a tailight lense broken off and moving around in the package. Was able to get a replacement of course, but my vendor can now return it to THEIR vendor.. the packaging is fine
@modelcarshouston looks like a win to me as someone who doesn't care about "nib".
Got some cool card art I can reuse for my display as a background and nifty individual boxes for when I move instead of individually wrapping them which has failed on some nascar collectibles when I was a kid.
Great vid and I agree, MiniGT should offer an alternative packing solution for those concerned with display and presentation. Cant beat the price point and quality though. I think you're spot-on about the buy 2 tactic! 👊😁👍
absolutely!
i cancelled all my mini gt cars they are not good cars
@@angel-ij4xvcan u say why
I agree! I really wish they would go with the boxes they did with the collaboration Nissan GT 35 Nismo for Pop Race. I have the red and the purple cars and they have Mini GT on the box as well as Pop Race. The boxes are your standard sized Mini GT box but with a plastic see through window!
I don't want the blister pack. But I like the minigt paper box more than a windowed one. Cars don't look good in the little plastic tray anyway, the light always reflects weirdly and it's not like I park my 1/1 car in a plastic sleeve inside the garage.
But I mean I just unpackage everything anyway.
What I do to open my mini gt's is that I cut with an exactal knife in the back side (next to the card), bottom, and sides (only half way), that way i can release it and take it inside again
I like you lighted display cases. Where did you buy them?
You should be a spokeperson for advil, in the video preview pictures it always looks like you have a headache or some ailment :D
I. Love. Mini. G. T.
For sure!
You can cut open it from outer edge in U shape. Then you should able to reuse the plastic cover. Same as greenlight diecast
The other problem is you can see the chase or should I say the distributors do , I prefer them inside the box when buying.
Agreed
Were do they sell mini gt cars and transporters? cause idont see them in any walmart stores or target.
Here where I’m from in Australia Mini GT models come in just the cardboard box with out the plastic cover, but Mini Gt is probably the most widely available higher quality 1/64 model brand in the country which I can’t complain about because of their great recent selection of models from 2023!
I ended up buying the s15 lbwk in carded form since the normal packaging run out of stock soo fast. And it kind of sucks because i really think I don't wanna open it.
I open my mini gt cars and put them into display cases. And I keep the boxes just incase I have to move them.
The 2 other major shortcomings of MiniGT is their cars don't have brake calipers, and the side view mirrors are rubber with no mirrors in them. This is probably why they still lack the quality that other brands have which included more premium acrylic display boxes.
the mirrors are rubber as a way to prevent them from breaking so often which other brands sometimes have a hard time with
@@modelcarshouston Makes sense but I believe colored rubber mirrors will never look as realistic as actual mirrors in photographs, and with the empty/missing brake calipers, and no acrylic cases to me simply screams nothing more than budget cuts to make their diecast cheaper to produce/ more affordable for newer collectors which is completely justifiable. I would hope they have a premium line, that covers all those shortcomings albeit with a higher price tag.
Inno64 display should be industry standard and the bare minimum imo. The window cutout and base is just too good.
Yes inno is better but also pricier.
Maybe I've been too spoiled by that style of display! Hahaha
The question is: Do you & most other people want to pay extra just to get the same display?
All the Mini GT’s I modify to amazing electric ⚡️ slot car racing machines.. AFX & Tyco 440 X2 Chassis⚡️✨
Damn so if I order mini gt in the US it comes in blister packaging?😭
James, I agree with you on all accounts. I also hate how with the packaging, the plastic changes shape right along the main body line of the model. Which really obscures the view.
love your vids my guy. the easiest subscribe in my life
Glad I can be of assistance!
I do agree with the packaging, they probably have a specific reasoning for that. Also midnight has some very Hot Chase cars.
Hi James,
I have a MINIGT sealed in the clamshell that is autographed in paint pen directly on the plastic in the upper front area. Besides displaying on a pegboard, would you have any protection recommendations? I don't think anyone makes cases for the MINIGT blisters. Maybe an acrylic case with a stand or something else? I have comic book/magazine sleeves, backing boards, but I want to be able to display it while at least somewhat protecting the autograph. I would definitely appreciate your insight. Thanks!!
There are acrylic cases for Mini GT models in blister packaging. I've found a few online in Southeast Asia.
@@yongling9825 thank you!! I found some that are exactly what I've been wanting.
The one thing that bothers me about mini is their qc. I have like 20 mini gt’s and every one of them has a qc issue. I don’t have this problem with other brands.
Only one of mine has two QC issues.
if one thought sticking with 1 manufacturer will ensure correct scale all the time is a great disappointment..mini gt put priority to their consistent packaging or box size instead of making the absolute correct or accurate scale size
Man i honestly dont give a damn about packaging. I open and display all my cars in a nice glass detolf shelf and on dioramas. To me its just more fun.
For sure. I have been spoiled with the acrylic casing from other brands.
Only thing I dont like about MINI GT is they still dont have the Koenigsegg License 🤣🤣🤣
🤣
Obtaining licensing is neither easy nor cheap.
Remove the clamshell design. It doesn't display properly for carded collectors as u mentioned in the video. Come out with a design like other brands are doing. Simple and clean boxes with arylic cases inside.
Exactly
I have wooden rafts or 3d printed supports, it doesn't affect me personally, since everything that i have is loose. But i can understand the frustration, for me its full LOOSE :D.
I always thinking about that why don’t they go for the plastic display case.
Because it sucks and destroys the pleasure of unboxing. Also it doesn't make any sense to display these tiny scale models in card board/ acylic /plastic case.
Same, cost effectiveness.
I'd say it looks rather nice when neatly stacked. :)
Guess I'm not a real collector 'cause what's the point of buying it and leaving it in the package?
I personally don't have a problem with Mini GT packaging. I have display cases that all my Mini GTs go into (I think I have about 60 cars from them). However, I do wish Mini gt would make a slightly more expensive line to compete with inno64, Tarmac works hobby64 line, etc. I love that all the cars (except for the special editions) retail for about $12, but I wish they would open up a line for around the $20-25 price point, have acrylic cases and be a little more detailed with some cool liverys
Don't forget the rotors and calipers, that be neat from mini gt
@omartijerinavale I agree! There's actually a preview for a Mini GT Indonesia Diecast Expo exclusive and the rendered photo has calipers and rotors, so fingers crossed that the model does!
I don’t need any more cardboard in my collection. Use the plastic from one of these and Make a window box.
I open everything so it doesn't matter
Excellent!!!
It doesn't bother me the way they're packaged. I take them out and put them on display anyway. The little box is only there incase I ever need to bring the miniGT model with me somewhere safely. The packaging is fine with me.
But since we're on this topic, I think they can put a little more detail into the interior. Or at the very least, brake calipers behind the rims.
Otherwise, I like miniGT!! But if you like miniGT, you'll love JKM!!!!!
Mini GT's are cool, like the detail but also like Hot wheels premium and some decent main lines to be fare. Packaging is not really an issue for me, dimensions, detail, quality control are key for me and obviously my wallet lol.
i can buy 4-5 MINI GT for the price of 1 ignition here in the states lmao
Sometimes, it's about quality over quantity.
I just like opening the box since I don't plan to sell. It's for my own fun.
I love them exactly how they are , personally.
My actual problem with mini gt is their terrible rolling problems on most of the cars, so I’ve decided to just display them
My one thing, the wheels are crap. Thankfully they use 2 screws instead of rivets to piece them together so they can be quickly replaced
Very good point!
For the value of a MiniGT, I'll deal with the blister pack.
Get it!
I always pick box-only Mini GTs (much easier on the wallet in this manner) unless the model I'm looking for needs to be LHD (if that model has both RHD and LHD versions) or is a regional exclusive.
1/64 are boys toys like matchboxes..minimum details and size can only be achieved in 1/43
I've seen a 1:64 Huayra R that's very detailed for this scale, made by LCD Models (licensed by Pagani). It beat Tarmac Works' by a fair amount, but this isn't an apples-to-apples comparison as their GLOBAL64 lineup balances between vehicle details and pricing.
I think the castings were made to be exposed, also inno64 and tarmac have these paper-covered acrylics that in the end if you want to expose your cars you have to get them out of there, Minigt invites you to get your cars out and if you want to store them you have a package to do it
Absolutely
I think it's the reason why minigt could cut the price so much for a great 1/64. Since on my country only get the cardbox package, i bought another 1/64 acryllic case to protect it
I don't have a problem with their packaging because I'll rip most of the cars I own and display them loosely. But I hope that Mini GT can come up with a better packaging, that will benefit us all.
I won't buy a Mini GT because of this.
Bro, it can be annoying!!!!
Is only like that in america
