  • Former Canuck Horvat spent the first 9 seasons of his career with the Canucks. He was named the captain in 2019. However he was traded to the Islanders in Jan 2023 and this was his first game back in Vancouver!
Thanks for everything Horvat! You were one of my favourite players!

Despite his comment, I still appreciate him and he’s been with us through some bad years. Management failed him and what he said was in the heat of the moment. He deserved the cheers!

Deserved the cheers. But his comments will unfortunately live in infamy in Vancouver forever... Will tell ya that for free.

Glad Vancouver played it classy and cheered. He was a great captain and was put in a very tough spot! I also think the reporter asked him a VERY leading question in front of a full arena when his emotions were hot... not the kind of comment we need to linger over forever and ever.. Let it go and remember all of the amazing work and great goals and community work he did while he was here. He should get a warm welcome any time he comes back. Was glad he got a goal but that Vancouver still got the 2 points.

Can you reiterate the question and answer? I've missed it, sorry.

@@arvidkarlberg5845 “how does this rank in terms of playoff pushes for you?” I believe it was something like that

@@CanucksGameVlogger Here is the transcript of the question Bo was asked in front of a cheering Islander's packed house:
"Two more regular season games, one more here at UBS arena. How does this rank for you in playoff pushes, the excitement of this building and the fans involvement over the last couple of games?"
Now, he could've just said "It's great. I love it here. I love the energy. So happy to be here!" But, of course he maybe didn't REALLY want to be traded, maybe he wanted to get paid, for management to pay him instead of Miller, etc. etc. In any case, she definitely set him up to RANK his new team against Vancouver, the only other team he played for, which was currently struggling near the bottom of the league.

@@arvidkarlberg5845Reporter in NY asked him how it was going as far as the Isles playoff push was going (they just beat Phi 4-0 and they eventually made it in) and Bo had the disgusting remark that "It's a LOT better than Vancouver, I'll tell you that for free" pretty classless stuff so he's lucky the Canucks fans showed him love here.

@@rowds fact of the matter was Bo being completely correct..... the Isles playoff push was a LOT better considering Vancouver had zero chance of making the playoffs.

Thanks for posting this - I missed it while watching the game on TV.
He served the team well during his time here. I always felt it's more important to measure a person's day-in day-out than on one remark.
It's too bad things got taken out of context. Frankly, I don't even blame him saying what he did given how bad the organization was in the last months of his time here.

For sure, not just the last few months we was here for but esp during the Benning era could never get a consistent playoff team for him
