Thoughts on South Point's Dinner Buffet?
Would you eat here?
Hey ruby I'm planning a bucket list trip to Vegas soon have you done Gordon Ramsey restaurant also do you know of a Maine lobster buffet
I would definitely try them. And yes please do a review on their seafood night. Plus even without the discount their prices are great with lots of selections to choose from. Good bang for your buck.
Thank you, we are going to Vegas this Month and are looking for a good cheap buffet to eat Thanksgiving at
Ate there many times. Use the Las Vegas advisor coupon to take even more off the price
@@mdaje Thanks for the tip!
Was in Vegas a few months ago... Our flight was canceled & the airline put us up in a hotel for the night.....it was the Southpoint. I always stay on the strip but after staying here, I would DEFINITELY stay here again. Buffet was great, hotel is nice, lots of food options. They also have a Bingo parlor (I won the $1000 coverall), bowling alley, lots of table games.
This is a great place to stay. 10/10.
The pork ribs are my favorite. I very much appreciate that the South Point owners re-opened the buffet as soon as they could during the pandemic. None of the other "local" casinos have re-opened theirs except for the Rampart. South Point deserves a lot of praise. 💖
Do not click on that link there is no reward it's a scam and it's been reported already by me
When my former mother-in-law lived in Vegas, her neighbor would pick her up and they'd drive to South Point for the buffet lunch. They went everyday. That was their one meal for the day.
so its an old persons place? lol
Vegas Buffets off strip Buffets used to be under $10 pre covid. South Point Buffet Lunch Price used to be $9.95 in 2018. I oddly wanted to move to Vegas in 2019 and then covid hit and inflation followed and home prices doubled. I think God was saying a big "NO!"
@@mrpink3630 Yes, Southpoint definitely is an old person place.
No. Not an old person's place at all. It's just a very nice casino with a wonderful buffet. So many great choices of food. Great service and atmosphere.
@@mrpink3630 Nooo... I go there too ;))
I am a local Nevadan from Reno, and we usually go to Vegas every year. We were so upset when the red rock buffet closed down and didn’t know about the announcement until we went to check it out back in September. But we instead went to the south point during brunch hours and it had some good variety, especially the carving station and desserts. We went on a Sunday, so they had a mimosa brunch special. Although I couldn’t drink due to being a minor, my parents did enjoy it and overall a decent local buffet being not too far from the strip.
how long is the drive?
@@mrpink3630 around 7-8 gives including stops
I really like your videos - they are genuine, matter-of-factly but in a very good & engaging way. And informative. That is not a bad combination. Looking forward to more!
And I didn't even reply to your question - I would try the buffet. It has a lot to offer, at a very good price, and from what you've shown, the quality is good. That's not a bad trifecta!
Hi Ruby, great job as always! Yes please do a Friday seafood review at South Point! Maybe even a bonus stay at the hotel.
I second that
Agree would like to see seafood buffet
Yesss!! Love seafood!! 🤤
I always do the breakfast buffet every time I stay there.
I love the way you describe the food when eating - almost feel like I can taste it.
Yummy 😋! All the food you ate at the South Point looks really good 👍. Born and raised here in Vegas myself , I hope you’re having an amazing weekend ❤️
Great tips on the buffet! Gives you a different perspective when you fix many of the dishes at home.
I always crack-up when you do your little dances in the elevators with you and Mr. Ruby are in. I feel it was a signature move of your channel.
Another great review. I definitely have to check this buffet out on my next Vegas trip.
We live here in Las Vegas and come here occasionally. Last year on Thanksgiving, a group of us came here for the buffet and couldn't find the end of the line. It was snaked throughout the entire casino floor. We ended up leaving and ate at home. So glad I had all the fixings.
I LOVE your buffet and food reviews! I live in Vegas...but like to see what you think of places I have yet to try!
Thank you Ruby! You rock! I have eaten at the South Pointe Buffet and I thought it was pretty good, especially for the price. Actually I would like to stay there one of my trips to Las Vegas.
"I'm not mad at it", would make a good drinking game
The hardest part of watching your videos for me is because I go through major vegas withdrawals 😂 thank you for another amazing video! ❤
Yes, please try the seafood night. Love South Point buffet!
Great review Ruby- you may not know but this is a Michael Gaughan property , his father Jackie had the El Cortez and many other properties in downtown vegas for many years. They were always focused on quality and value . Not surprised at how well they treated you and your good experience .
South Point has always a best value place. I agree that the buffet is by far the best value you can get. Can't wait to see your seafood night. I have stayed at South Point many times. Always enjoyed it. Thank you for the video.
Ruby, truly impressed! You are so descriptive and honest. Looking forward to my next Vegas visit. And you keep a nice figure to boot!
THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR HONEST OPINION. THE FOOD REALLY LOOKS GOOD. KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK 👏🏽👏🏽
Great review, Ruby. I'm with Mr. Ruby on the Reuben. Hope you're both enjoying living in LV!
Thanks for the entertaining and informative vids! Yes, PLEASE do the Seafood Buffet! Thx 😊
Spimoni cake is an awesome idea! I love the ice cream so I think I would like that. Nice food reviews on all and would love to try!
I didn't care for it. We call it cough syrup cake lol. But that chocolate cake was spot on.
We love Ruby, she is a good eater and never met a buffet she hated.
Scam
Thank you love your reviews!!!!
I like your buffet videos.
You always seem to find nice things to say even on so so items. Very positive
I've eaten there a few times. Good selection. Mexican food was decent. Also a nice strawberry shortcake station when I was there. Can't beat the value!
Hard to go wrong at South Point. My wife and I have stayed there the last couple of times in Vegas and the buffet is pretty good. Don Vitos is good as well, as is the Silverado. Primarily Prime Rib is next on the list to try. Expectating a grrat experience.
Primarily Prime Rib is GROSS.. the food quality is pretty lousy. Silverado Steakhouse is MUCH better quality. I've stayed at Southpoint 8 times since 2012 and Know the restaurants well. The Japanese restaurant named Zenshin Asian is pretty good but a little pricey. Big Sur Oyster Bar/Seafood cafe is also good and has good clam chowder and Fish-n-Chips. The Del Mar Deli near the sportsbook is decent for sandwiches.
I always stay at SP. food options are always good for me
U guys make
ALL
reviews entertaining👍🏻👍🏻👏🏼
I would love you guys to hopefully check out some of the hotels and casinos in Reno and Carson City, or Lake Tahoe, particularly cause it’s during the holiday season and a lot of people come to visit during the snow months and has an awesome vibe with some of our amazing casinos in the area.
Stayed there. Loved it. Good food and service. Table games were fun as well. Reminds me of old style Vegas - you will enjoy it.
Thanks, that's a good stop for our upcoming trip...... Made me hungry!!!! ❤️
Thank you that was informative
I love your channel. I got a bit distracted counting how many times you weren’t mad at something. I like that you try so many things.
Thank you Ruby....taking notes for my March trip
But who eats dinner at 4 in Vegas? Grannies? Usually I'm just getting up around then...🌜 looking for a cup of Joe!! 🤣☕
Hey Ruby! So fun! Such a treat that I was able to meet you at Granny Fest. All the best
Just recently found your channel! Hey, could you do a makeup video, I love your Vegas makeup look!
I’m 20, back when I was 12 I remember going to south point to eat and of course I loved it as a kid. It is an old people hotel since my grandma and aunts always went
Looks like a solid value for a buffet. Have heard a lot of good about it. Great that they have some solid Mexican/Latin offerings along with the usual offerings. Some buffets tend to overlook my favorite part of the world. BTW my wife is of Mexican heritage and this is just something we love in addition to all the other offerings at a buffet. Thanks for the video!
I will wager there is NOTHING on that buffet that could be considered REAL "MExican" food. Tacos, burrito, enchiladas, etc dont count. LOL
Mexican is my favorite food so I would like to try South Point. Then you brought up the Rueben...my favorite grilled sandwich. I need to try it. We may be coming to Las Vegas to see Jimmy Buffet at MGM Grand Garden Arena in March. May have to try that buffet...Haha! Thanks for the video Ruby. Prime Rib is the king. Yes Hors radish and au jus makes it so much better.
I haven't been to Vegas since 92. Back then I'm not joking all food was dirt cheap. Most buffets were like $6. We spent more on breakfast at Mcdonalds then we did at nice buffets. We were getting lots of shrimp cocktails that were AWESOME and only 99cents. We got tons of free pop all day long. We stayed at the Imperial Palace on the strip and we walked all the way down to the ends and my feet for so blistered. Nothing but tennis shoes the next 3 days. LOL
Love your buffet reviews 😋
Love your videos. Could you do a video on one of the restaurants at The M? Or the buffet if there is one there. Mr Ruby is lucky to get to eat at all those places with you.
I love south point for the cheap breakfast specials! Their rewards and points also never expire compared to all other casinos. Do more Reviews of all the the events here!
There is no reward it's a scam
I was just in Vegas last month for the NASCAR race. South Point is on point. Great tip getting in a few minutes before they up for the dinner prices.
For the last five years or so for Christmas, I’ve roasted a standing rib roast with a homemade horseradish sauce and all the fixings (including homemade mashed potatoes and gravy). Delicious… And wonderful leftovers. What’s not to love…
I hope you guys come down to Reno to review and stay in some of the casinos and hotels in the area. They’re are a lot of options that some people overlook and Reno doesn’t always get the attention
Definitely need the seafood buffet review, must know if it would be worth going to on my next trip.
Another great video Ruby!
Great content Ruby! Keep it up!
I'm really enjoying your buffet reviews
great review, at 8:16 I thought the guy behind you was going to break his chair by how hard he fell into it! lol
AMAZING TASTE TEST THANK YOU
Yes. A whole serious on Vegas buffet "Seafood" day/nights would be fun. And then the same for Brunch.
I have ate there about a year or so ago and they had white fish on the buffet for dinner and it was terrific. South point buffet is always a good deal. I just wish they would reopen the Silverton buffet around the corner that was my favorite of all.
Yeah, Red Rock Casino, Silverton, Orleans, Suncoast, Gold Coast all stopped Buffets. but Main St Station , Rampart ( limited times ) and South Point have Buffets now. It was FUN while it lasted at those reasonable prices. Boo Hoo.....
My friend and I ate there in August. Prime rib night was really good. Great video!
Great review took just enough to make great video thx
Love to watch your reviews!
Another great video. Thank you
Well thank you for that review the food look pretty good some things were tastier than others as usual I love your videos
Would love to see the seafood night! Thanks! Great review!
Do all the buffets and restaurants! These reviews are my favorite 🎉
Yes, do the seafood night as well. I'm a huge seafood fan. Thanks!
I never even heard of South point buffet but now I will definitely give it a try when I come back to Vegas
Thanks for this - I was wondering if buffets were even around after the past couple of years. Thanks for the review.
So many of the Las Vegas hotels have eliminated their buffets. Southpoint is one of the few breakfast, lunch, dinner buffets left. The hotel is off strip, 3 miles south of Mandalay Bay hotel. Buffet has long lines Fri-Sun, the casino floor that you wait in is very smokey, smells like a giant ashtray.
I like that you go for cheaper buffet ,,not everybody can afford a 80$ buffet , especially when traveling on a tight budget ,thank you
Wonderful job !
Very informative review. Also, now I’m hungry!
I agree . We spend winter in Vegas and we go a couple times a week. Can’t beat the 13.99 price point😀
My late inlaws lived near South Point so we did their buffet often when we visited from Wisconsin.
If you do Friday seafood night, just remember to go super early, last time I got there at 3:45pm (it opens at 4pm), I have to stand in line til almost 5:45pm to get seated
Love your buffet videos ❤
Thanks, like looking at all this food 😊
I've eaten here a bunch of times and it was always good. And the mystery regarding the chicken Parmesan….I cannot confirm but it's quite possible that they brine all their chicken beforehand….Which might give you that pickle taste. I love it.
Great review.
Looks really good and affordable! Would love to see the seafood buffet!
I’m dying to get down there for a week at South Point - Your info is Super Great and Helpful to hear right now!
How many HOURS were you SAMPLING there at the Buffet that day ? Seemed you went in while the Sun was up and then it got Dark out side LOL🎉. I was a day late to enter the Million Dollar Bingo Extravaganza for October. It’s coming again March 2023 so I think I’ll register this week end - but I need a Week preliminary RIGHT Now !!
I fix their kitchen equipment there. In fact I just put that first steamtable in your video in a few days ago. The old one had issues. Welcome to my work Ruby :)
Hello Ruby, for the origin of *hushpuppies,* one story is that Confederate soldiers were preparing food around a campfire and heard Union soldiers in the vicinity, so they pitched their yelping dogs some fried cornmeal cakes and ordered them to « hush puppies. » Thanks for the review! ❤👍
Heard it was slaves that threw them to the (catcher) dogs to keep them from barking and giving their position away, thus the hush puppy.
I bumped into you ans Mr ruby omw to work, it was nice seeing you can't wait till you come to Virgin hotel would love to play
I love your buffet reviews
I"m in VEGAS this week will check this out. Thanks
Would love to see you review their "Seafood Night" 😋😋.
I've tried most of the moderately priced buffets in Vegas, Excalibur, Luxor, Grand, & SP. #1 The Grand for it's selection and price ($36.99 I think, we do the MyVegas bogo for MGM) #2 SP for taste and price (we do the bottomless mimosa brunch), we didn't care for Excalibur or Luxor. We're going to try Palms, Ellis Island, MLife & The Wynn based off of your reviews. Really appreciate your candor!
I’m a local, and I live near South Point as well. They’re buffet has definitely became good the last couple of years.
Yes would love to see the Friday Seafood buffet
Great video. You can somewhat diminish inked, but not the cause.
before I watched the video I ate dinner. I knew if I didn't your video would make me hungry. Las Vegas is totally worth the trip for the food experiences. I would be stuffed all the time. How you manage to keep your figure is beyond me. Sorcery!
Episode suggestion: I’m a big sports fanatic, and Vegas is a HUGE sports town, with NHL Hockey, NFL Football, NBA summer league, possibly MLB Baseball. I often plan trips to Vegas built around sporting events.
Can you maybe put together some of Vegas’s best spots to catch some sporting action? ie. Beer prices/specials, halftime give aways/prizes, viewing parties. Etc
Nice job Ruby😋
Geez, South Point is such a good casino / hotel with everything there ( especially Bowling and Movies ) ! We need to try the BUFFET soon. Too bad we are in Summerlin and it's a 25 minute drive.
Definitely!! Always a good value.
Thank you! So, after you eat all that food, if you want, you can go back to load up again? Is that how it works?
These videos always make me so hungry! Lol
Ruby try the cheap steak and eggs breakfast at Ellis island too. Cool video and we luv this place. 🤠🎉👍
I almost always head to Southpoint for a brunch every time I'm in Vegas. They have a lot of good video poker games there too.
Next March I'll give it a try. Based solely on your recommendations, I've had some really great times staying in Vegas. Rooms, food, drinks, and entertainment. Ruby takes one for the team and we benefit.
lol staying in vegas is not taking one for the team, although who knows how much editing and stuff she has to do now. but im sure she gets comps on top of regular comps that would make it a bit easier. as well as adverts
the bad thing here in atlantic city also is the resort fees much more then years ago now i saw a cheap room in showboat on a sire and they say no wifi and no refunds although i had wi fi last time and they are chging 1800 rewsort fee muct be wrong trop refuses to open buffet its a cesars property now they claim its a lost in money
