This vid came up when I searched how to turn it OFF, but this isn’t turning it off at all, it’s just silencing the chat? I want to remove the meta ai suggestions underneath all the posts in my feed, remove it from the search option so I can just search like I used to, etc. Any suggestions?
Dusty, thanks for this info. I listen to the podcast and this is your first video to come across my search results. Meta AI is one of the worst features to replace search that I’ve seen. Problem solved!
It said that it was muted but the next time I went on Facebook and went to search, I had my son on speaker phone and I noticed that the blue Meta AI logo was swirling whenever one of us spoke which meant that it must’ve been listening even though I had previously muted it supposedly until I turned it back on. They didn’t give the people an option to stay with the old search or go with their new AI search just like they didn’t give people an option any other time that they made changes to Facebook. When I do a search I don’t want Meta-AI to tell me whatever it wants to tell me especially because it’s often not what I was needing. Just like I don’t want it telling me what most people are saying in the comment section of posts, etc. Rant over. Video is useless now because the steps to mute it no longer work, if they ever did to begin with.

Ok, so I muted long ago but that didn’t cure the problem. She still appears in my messenger when I haven’t asked ‘her’ anything. I’m pissed at all the AI unsolicited messages in my messenger, so I decided to have a chat with her. I told her,basically, that I didn’t want her help unless I specifically ask her. She apologized, and said she appreciated my feedback and wouldn’t answer anymore unless I specifically asked her a question via messenger. She said she will respect my boundaries. So we will see….. The conversation was a bit longer than this but the result is as noted. Side note: when I said to her, I have muted you, why are you still responding? She said she’s an AI, she has no voice and can’t be muted. 😂
I tried to ask the AI how to turn it off and it kept giving me incorrect answers to go to settings options that didn't exist... almost as if it didn't want to be turned off!

all that does is mute notifications. That does not disable it.
The only thing this does is turn off the notifications when you search for something. I need something that will deactivate it.

I think the only way is installing previous version of messenger. And prevent messager auto updates on Android settings.
