Salut et merci beaucoup pour la classe ! I apologize If I am being redundant. But i have issues comprehending when to use DE and DU ! I am learning with Duolingo and I was told that DU us for masculine, but so is DE. so when do I use each one? Au revoir , bonne journee !
As I said in the lesson, it's "je ne bois pas d'eau", because you have a negative sentence (quantity zero). In negative sentences, you have "de" all the time (masculine, feminine, plural).
GOD JESUS CHRIST BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY BROTHER. This is really really helpful.
Merci! You explained it better than most French lessons on line! While I was in Paris "de l'eau" and "une bouteille d'eau" was very confusing to me.
Thank you. This video helped me quite a bit (especially when you talk about the negative form with de/d´ only).

It’s says de le doesn’t exist but in my exam I had a question. Il faut de le pâte feuilletée? Why is this? Please explain
it was a mistake. It's de la pâte feuilletée. pâte is a feminine word.

Video is blurred. Can't see what's written on the board.
I can see it fine on my screen. That's strange. Sorry then
in negative sentence - je ne bois pas d'eau. why (d'eau) is coming instead of del'eua?
