The mana points system and the skills leveling up are my favorites. It's almost like they took a page out of pathfinder 2e

@TheUglyGoblin this gives me an unreasonable sense of accomplishment. Also, as a little bit of an optimizer, I can't wait to see how the mana points system works with the actions system. I'm gonna guess it's limited to 1 spell per turn, but it raises the question of if there will be cantrips or if what are now leveled spells will have an equivalent spell cost (level 1 is one point, 2 is two points, etc.) Or if you can spend a max amount of mana points per turn. Maybe equal to spellcasting mod bonus plus spellcasting class level? I wonder how this will interact with paladin smites and half casters. Pact magic is going to need to be reworked, too, but the old warlock revision without it makes sense now if this is the direction they're going. No wisdom means reworked cleric, druid, ranger, and monk. If the 16 classes are kept, that is. I like the idea of reforming it entirely or making a skill tree based on your proficiency and skills, but that's unlikely.

The prime score is your characters main score and is the highest score period
What this dos is make it soo you can play a str wizard .
Did you make a barbarian with charisma as its highest stat thats totaly vaibol becouse the cha is the prime
Also evry class is Compleetly reworsked
The ranger is a full martial
The monk is actually good
Amd the new clases
Psion and warlord are a lot of fun
This system is made too costumize your experience and alowes for a lot of fun creative character builds
And a lot of team work combo casting is a thing
As well as helping a aly by giving them a help die
Wich is not advantage but a d8 added too a roll
Also adv stacks soo you can give yourself triple advantege on 1 attack if you wanted too
FOR ANYONE WONDERING, This man is NOT a sellout lol. The dungeon coach wants to give back to the community like wotc should have been for a long time, and wants to give basically any content creator an affiliate link! He is a good dude, and DC20 is a truly fantastic system being worked out!

I like Coach. I have been following DC20 from the start and am still not sure about it tho. I'm waiting for the beta release to try it out because the alpha is not where I or more so my players would be interested.

Over the past 3 years I’ve been pretty intimidated by dming a campaign with how complicated and deep the rules can be. I really hope this simplification makes it more possible for me to dive in to running my own story!

These Stamina and Mana points... seems that the D&D 4th Ed. is making a comeback.
I don't remember stamina and mana in 4e actually! But I do like them, they're a bit more intuitive
@@TheUglyGoblin Yes they aren't. What i meant is that i can see lots of POWERS coming back. "So you wanna make a whirlwind attack: 3 Stamina points"
@@Xanadhu mmm I think for DC20 its more so a unuversal resource that can be spent on abilities that kind of already exist. Instead of monk having ki, fighters having superiority die etc, they all just have stamina :3

Honestly, very excited about those. I was implimenting the same thing into my own lik system
As a creative hobby, I have started to make my own TTRPG system, mostly just for fun but the other reason I started this was that I didn't like how DnD turned into more of a narrative game. I feel like DnD 5e restricts what players can do from a gameplay standpoint. I understand that by simplifying the system it makes it easier for new players to pick up. I always got bored with my characters in combat so I would often struggle to stay engaged. I think if they do go this way it would be a step in the right direction. For my own TTRPG system, I'm looking at doing some similar things.

The rpg game comparison is spot on based on this glimpse...ive known a few gamer friends who tried playing dnd but always got confused at the start due to how what they knew didn't translate exactly to the dnd system this might make it easier for first timers who have experience in other games...but thats just me

As somebody who only just got into D&D after 5th edition was released, this is such a huge change! I'm both nervous to see if my group will even want to adapt and excited to see how everything plays!

I think those dice are number of attacks. Might be bringing back the +11/+5/+1 style of attacks from the 3.5/Pathfinder era

This is actually DC20 and not D&D, though DC20 is a natural progression from D&D5E.

I'm not big on the multiple points in skills thing out of the whole system. Just complication for complication. Its wholly unnecessary. Some stuff I like in the system and some stuff I feel is a bit over designed.
Personally I think spell slots are far more complicated and unintuitive

The reason one DnD is going to be unsuccessful is because people have lost Faith in Hasbro/WoTC, the idea that they through this together as a drastic backup plan to reinvigorate interest gives me no new faith in WoTC. What happened to the year of playtest packages? It looks like they are making things different just for the sake of being different. Oh look its now a 5 stat system... how lame will it be when everyone's highest stat is now called "Prime? for no other reason as to WoTC desperate to appear different and new... thats how 4E failed.... except we liked WoTC back in 4E.... Mana points have been done way back in AD&D it never caught on, if they drastically change what D&D magic is to make the mana point system cool and unique then it wont be D&D anymore

@@TheUglyGoblin not really I find the Dungeon Coaches stuff to be over-complicated and bogs down the game. Not sure how it will be once free of the 5E system though. My Own Homebrew will suffice I get compliments on it every week, this week my PC's where very happy on how I fixed Sword and Board fighters.
