Another unbelievable video Jon. They don't get much bigger than that here in PA. Its super rare, but always a treat to run into one of that caliber. Keep up the amazing work as usual!

Great video! The cinematography was awesome. Definitely the kind of stream you search for a while to find and when you find it you remember it forever.

Yeah I fished this stream for the first time 3 yrs ago and its on my rotation now and I try to fish it 2-3 times per season, its accessible and so beautiful with quality and quantity of fish. Hard to beat!

The release at 6:20 looks like the hand of god reached down to give this fish a second chance hahaha 😂😂😂 It looks intentional unless you see that the light from through the trees just happens to be where he released the fish. Pretty funny.

i grew up in Union County, PA, there was a cold, mountain stream loaded with native brookies. Would spend basically every day of the summer on this particular stream pulling out 6-8" brookies. There was one hole, about 400 yards from where I entered, a big tree root system near the head of a pool about 10' from the bottom of a rapid. Maybe was about 6' deep. Threw in a Mepps Black Magic 00 into the rapid and let it drift into the pool. Saw a flash, and my little ultra light setup just bent. Ended up being a 17.5" male brookie. a fantastic fish, showed him to my dad (back in those days, you mounted fish like that), and said that fish was probably 15 years old, and likely was the biggest fish in that stream. Only threats to these fish are the black bears, and the occassional fisherman. That summer, I saw 2 fisherman the entire summer on that stream. Heading back there next week with my 7'6" 3 wt fly rod.

Nice day! I love that serendipitous feeling when you have an expectedly productive day. There's a small blue ridge stream that has become one of my favorites this year. It suffers early in the season from low water but after a rain the brookies are very eager, similar to your experience. And the big one was a beast, congrats!

      Thanks Jon
I figured I’d try. I live in Delaware and there’s only one good trout stream about 45 mins for me. Which I generally fish the PA side of the WCC.
So it’s hard for me to scout out streams in Pa and NY.
I should be retired this time next year and will be traveling and fishing small streams in Pa and NY!🥳. We also head up to raystown lake in a week for family get together we do every 2 years. It’s great and I’ll fish the trough State creek. I’ve caught some decent trout there but I’m gonna look for other small streams It’s difficult cause I don’t know the area that we’ll even thought this is our 10th or so time up there🤪
Thanks for the response back and maybe one day I’ll bump into you on a stream.
      Tight lines to ya Jon
      Keep sending videos
      They are awesome!!

I generally use attractors like Wulffs and Stimulators. For a dropper typically tungsten bead pheasant tails and hares ears. Pretty Vanilla.
