      Also the Multiplat Games that are usaly better on the Xbox (especialy if the only other console that got those games was the Ps2 with its horrible Video output and Controller)
      Also Fable.... why Fable which is on PC and looks fantastic on PC, because it doesnt have Controller Support on PC and it plays horrible because of that. And the Anniversary Edition looks worse then the original on PC.

    24:40 This particular data-point could be extremely telling. Likely, the use of an in-line device, which adds its own signature to the signal, is giving your Denon receiver exactly what it wasn't getting from the GBA Consolizer itself. Your discovery not only points to a simple solution, but also to the issue's likely cause. If that's the case, this could potentially be something that firmware alone could solve. As adding a signature to a sent signal isn't really that hard to do. It can be done via hardware (like it is with most vintage electronics), but is just as easily done through firmware (as it is in pretty much every modern device). This was super exciting to see you mention. I bout fell out of my chair, while flailing for the spacebar to pause! xD

    For people who don't have soldering skills, they should consider using pogo pins. How that works is: Pogo pins are spring loaded, gold plated pins that can be soldered directly to a PCB. The kit would come with custom PCBs that have pogo pins which align with the spots you'd have to solder to. You screw the board in and it presses the pins against the spots. From the custom PCB you have wires going to the daughter board. Zero soldering required. Modular and easy to repair in case one of the pins fails.

    Hey Try and Coury, I have some pretty great news for playing Gameboy Advance on HDTV! Recently they added some Low Pass filters to the Gameboy Advance Core on Mister in one of the updates.
    There is a Filter that I think changes the game on GBA's audio quality - I've been testing them out extensively and have come to the conclusion that the *_Arcade LPF 6khz 2nd_* Audio Filter provides strikingly excellent results without effecting the audio range or dynamics too much (effectively minimizing the audio buzz present on GBA consolizers thru most AV equipment).
    I'm sure this Filter COULD be added to the GBA consolizer itself aswell - but for Mister, this is a BIG break-thru for capturing and streaming GBA (and for those of us who still hear higher frequencies). Update you're Mister and give this filter a try and see what you think.
    The difference is best heard on headphones of a surround system - but can still be clearly discerned thru typical TV speakers. No More Annoying Hiss!

    Certainly looks nice, but I'm still not sure how I feel about sacrificing original GBA hardware. I know there are still a ton of them, but it's still a finite source. Steep price too. I hope someday we might get an FPGA solution for it. Either through MiSTer or a stand alone system which does GB/GBC/GBA. I'd get behind that. For now I am happy playing Game Boy.* on a GameCube + GB Player running GBi software, via component outputs, and playing with a Hori GBP controller.

      [Try4ce] I don't think anything about the mod is irreversible. The same could be said of any mod, it's just that most stay in the original shell (or cut the plastic of the original shell, which I'm pretty sure this does not).

    In response to the 8bitdo snes controller options. Most of the issues are with “pro” models from what I’ve heard. The 8bitdo SN30 is a fantastic 2.4ghz controller which has the exact dimensions of the SNES controller and no lag on real consoles which has been great for casual and speedrunning games. It works on switch with a usb cable and it should work great on the consolizer. The buttons even use the same cutouts for the original controllers so if you get the transparent black version and want the OG purple or colored SFC buttons on it it’s an easy swap.

    If only it could fix the insanely low quality audio of GBA entirely. It feels entirely like Nintendo never counted on anyone using the headphone jack or playing these games on something with more than a tiny mono speaker.
    There were someone who did disassembly of games and found out that all the samples are actually of a much better quality but they end up sounding terrible because of the bad CPU audio mixing, so they created a way to convert certain GBA games that used a particular sound driver into MIDI files that you'd play with a custom sound font and it sounds pretty good. But you need to switch the sound font per game, and it's sadly not yet possible do use with the actual games, only for listening to the music separately on Foobar.

      I've been wondering about this. I figure it's inevitable that GB/GBC/GBA will eventually be an FPGA target, and then it should be possible to emulate two ARM CPUs. I think you could then either have a database of games or detect the most common sound mixing libraries so the mixing routine could be patched out of the ROM and replaced with a stub that throws commands to the second CPU, where it can be processed in HQ.
      As I understand, the reason for the poor quality is that mixing is done in software and it's a compromise between CPU time for the game and time for the audio routine. So giving full CPU to both in a dual core emulator should solve that nicely.

    I just had a thought: The GameBoy Player is literally just a GameBoy Advance that replaced the screen, controls and power circuitry with a proprietary connector.
    Wouldn't that allow a Plug'n'Play version of the Consolizer for the Player? - obviously with additional engineering required since I don't assume that Nintendo literally just piped raw video from the GBP to the GameCube, and raw input data back, otherwise we'd likely have seen some sort of Third-Party DVD player or Famiclone add-on for the GameCube back in the day.

    • @mylifeingaming
      @mylifeingaming  5 лет назад +5

      [Try4ce] I believe they are planing to make a version for the Game Boy Player eventually, but it never occurred to me if it might actually interface with the GameCube. In my head I was just thinking it would work independently.

    • @BrightSpark
      @BrightSpark 5 лет назад

      @@mylifeingaming Well, I assume it wouldn't NEED a GameCube, unless Nintendo went crazy with securing the connection between the GBP and the Gamecube. Worst case they'd have to directly tap some of the GBA's chips, but I was wondering if they could "just" release a box that you plug into the Player instead of the Gamecube with no modding necessary. An added bonus could be rumble support for the few games that supported rumble through the GameCube Player.

    For the gbi gamecube option. extrems was saying that the hdmi solutions have some issue's with some settings. IDK if 540p works with it. there are some other options.
    Normal settings work fine. So official component cables will give better results. 360p is good with the ossc, idk if it needs special firmware to accept such resolutions. I don't think he likes the hdmi solutions to much. Exrems was saying the hdmi consolizer is just as good as gbi hf with all the good settings on and more stable of course since it's read hardware. So your getting the best that can be offered with the consolizer.
    Some settings work fine and with default should work fine also with the hdmi solution. I don't own any hdmi solutions so idk for myself, it looks like you guys got it running fine. I just use s video with the framemiester with 240p setting which is alright, there is a tad of fuz id like to eliminate with a other solution.
    That audio problem is enough for me to think about getting og component cables thou, it's really tough with the high ebay prices. maybe it can be fixed in another rev.

      I don't think u need a upscaler if u use component with 540p and 1080i. The software will do it with the components.
