  • It was time to remove the old swamp maple. It was dying and wasn't in a good location anyway. I used my Husqvarna 455 Rancher chainsaw, then cleaned up with the Kubota B2601 compact tractor and the Woodland Mills WC68 wood chipper. I also used the Ohio Steel 15 cubic foot dump cart with my Club Car DS golf cart. Overall a great day. I hope you enjoy!

    Loved it! I notice enough “lumberjack powersaw experts” already commented so I’m leaving it alone. Really enjoyed the history of the oak and the ancestral resting grounds! Even enjoying the project, is challenging in those temps!!🥵
    That’s a great capacity cart! Very handy and efficient!!

    I'm a city boy moving to 9 acres with no experience and very safety oriented so I know I am going to get chaps too for when I get/use a chainsaw. Another great video on seeing you fell that tree and chip it up.

    Enjoy your videos. I cut my own firewood and I always wear my logging helmet and chaps. Besides the safety the chaps keep my pants cleaner. Even chipping I wear my helmet with shield down. Many times a branch will hit the helmet or shield which is better than my face. I tend to go with a plunge cut especially if the trees may be unhappy. Less chance of a barberchair. I also have the Husqvarna Rancher 455 for the big cuts. I like it. I use the Woodmax 1260 chipper which I really like. Be safe.

      Thanks Gerry! I’ve definitely focused on safety more lately. The 455 is a great saw!

    You might want to use a pitch fork for materials like the chips it will work better than a shove. I can't wait until I can afford a tractor and chipper. Videos like this make me dream even more.

      Kevin Brewer you are right! I went and got a rake after. It took me 20 years before I could finally get a tractor. Had to raise the kids first! Keep your goals! 0% Kubota financing helps too 😄

    Nice job with the tree. The fun part is dropping the tree then the work begins. The rotten ones are the most work because the limbs break into so many pieces. I just subscribe and enjoy watching your channel. I am just getting mine started.

      Thanks very much! It's a beautiful tree with a beautiful, yet sad history. To think of my mother placing my father's ashes under that tree in 1970 with 4 young children all under age 12 at her side. Then for those adult children to place her ashes there 22 years later. Interesting to think that I'm writing this on fathers day.

    Good morning Ed! Great job getting it done and starting the cleanup. The hydraulic in-feed on the chipper is a nice option to have. Some big wood there for someone's fireplace. LOL. Cheers and all the best!

    You need to make sure your chain break is on when you store your saws

  • @oldmanbs1
    @oldmanbs1 2 года назад +1

    As far as your leaky bar oil, if you clean the saw where the bar attaches and look from the front there is a little plug that plugs off the machining hole for the oiler that comes out and just needs to be reinstalled. I watched a video video about it. Might be your issue. Just an idea.

    Great video. My Stihl 026 leaked oil all the time... then I noticed the "O" ring missing from the filler cap. No idea how I lost it.

    • @MyClutteredGarage
      @MyClutteredGarage  4 года назад

      Bob & Kim McDonald thanks so much for watching and commenting. I’ll check my o-ring. Someone commented that engaging the chain brake when storing stops the bar from leaking.
