Thank you!! So many videos about adhd either focus too much on very specific (aka inaccessible or unrealistic) solutions, or are filled w really vague affirmations. It’s like, what do I do when I’ve already tried block scheduling but “be patient” isn’t going to get me to work on time?
I find that there isn't a lot of advice from other adhd'ers and wanted to add in a few things that have worked for me. Remember to change things up, we don't like boring or being told what to do. 😉
Holy crap, I've been trying to solve that 'One project becomes many when I think I'm going to come back to them' thing for so long! As well as the 'overwhelmed by clutter' thing. Thank you so much!
There's something so nice and reassuring in hearing someone else details EXACTLY how I behave/feel. Thanks for that. Spot on. On literally everything you've mentioned.
The clutterbugs have helped me for decluttering and organizations my life to help deal with removing visceral static that can help me be focused.. I'm a butterfly boarding on a cricket. It's so refreshing that at your young age figuring out what works best for your ADHD. I'm going to be 60 next year and I'm finally figuring out and dealing with parts of my own ADHD. Good luck on your journey.
My sister has ADHD, and its very frustrating because I have autism and we do share a space I want everything hidden and beautiful and she's resistant to ANY environment changes
Most people with ADHD have issues with object permanence. It might be that if you put something where she can't see it she will forget about it. Maybe you can work together to find a compromise that functions for both of you.
Exactly. If I can't see it. It doesn't exist..yet it's still poking me from a distance ot seems. I write ists and use alarms real lists and real calendars work much better
What about labeled bins or containers? So it's visual, hidden and pretty. Your sister can throw her things into the bins, but it will still look tidy and pretty. And with labels she will know what's inside of each bin
this was so calming to watch. thank you for sharing your tips, i got many insights out of it :) i'm excited to try out your suggestions as this was so helpful, thanks again xx
Within the first minute automatically yes I understand this and love that you’re sharing your journey! As a fellow adhd neurodivergent I get it and it’s always nice to see how others try to troubleshoot our brains! :)
Self control is a hard one. I find it can be a bit ableist and used against people who don't fit the mold. But try to identify what your struggling with and then work on the why.
The whole subscribe and ring the bell speech drives me CRAZY, a quick animated graphic icon reminder would do just fine. People say this so much in videos...and if it isn't quick I'm done next video. I couldn't make it past it
You mentioned setting times for specific activities during the day and I was wondering how something like that would work with a job where hours are different every week and there's no way to plan?
At the time of making this video I didn’t have a job. I now have a job that I set my own hours. This isn’t possible for everyone but a lot of Neurodivergent people struggle 9-5 schedules.
Sorry about that. I have also found a few apps that are helpful FlyLadyPlus and Sweepy. Sweepy you put your own in but Fly Lady is more structured with the option of changing or adding your own in.
Well yeah, we have to work with our brain to almost trick it into organizing. She is providing more concrete steps to organize instead of giving us super vague instructions. It's a really good start.

Self control is a hard one. I find it can be a bit ableist and used against people who don't fit the mold. But try to identify what your struggling with and then work on the why.

Where is that mic from?
Its the Rode Video Shotgun Microphone that I put on an other tripod.
So basically in order to help with lack of organization skills you need to start organizing🧐🧐🧐🧐yes very smart
Sorry, good point. I'm working on some better more helpful tips for organization.
