I’m 60, grew up with this music and love Silk Sonic. I’ve listened to reaction from teenagers who only react to rap, thirty something’s who only listen to pop music, and everybody in between. They all love the music and appreciate everything about it; the vibe, the great harmonies, the instrumentals, the fashion, and the choreography.

Anderson said in their interview with Ebro on Apple Music that Bruno is a great vocal producer and he pushed Anderson to his limit until Bruno heard something pop 😆

45 year-old woman here. I was in high school when Motownphilly came out, so that was a while ago.
Bruno is really the only new artist I have listened to, over the past decades, and he took it to a whole new level with Anderson. I couldn't get enough of Bruno, and now I can't get enough of the two of them together.
Also, it was funny when you guys said how effortlessly they were dancing around. They might make it seem effortless, but man, every little piece of what they do on stage, is carefully planned out and perfected. I believe this was the first time they performed this song live, ever. And they STILL made it seem effortless. What they (the two guys and the band as well) have together is just magical. It is MUSIC the way music should be.

    • @peanutforever2191

@🦋JahGirl 🦋 Motownphilly is a song by Boyz II Men that came out in 1991, from their album Cooleyhighharmony. Motown was the 60s and Philly soul was the 70s, and they masterfully combined the two, bringing each into a new sound of the 90s, so it is no coincidence that I mentioned it as a parallel. Those who know what I'm talking about, know. :)

Gentlemen I'm from this era I was born in 1957 grew up through the 60's hit high school in 1971 so I experienced it all even when rap first came on the scene in the late 70's and I can say wholeheartedly I love what they've done it was well crafted and meticulously orchestrated and with a touch of Boots Collins here and there to give it a flavor of authenticity I can only hope that they would us one more collaboration down the line that could do this album justice then I'd have my bookends but if not my ears are feeling blessed to hear something with real substance and attention to detail like the music from back in the day you FEEL! every beat and lyric that's what's up!

57 young here, I love Bruno he is so talented, but this....you can't totally appreciate what they are doing unless you lived in the 70's 80's, music was so different and it was a time of discos and all the feel good soul, funk, and R&B I think for many it brings back a lot of good memories. This duo is magic together!!!! Not one skip on the album but plenty of repeats...Love it!!!

Gotta hope the world opens up for the tour... this is brilliant, a no skip classic album for everyone and all times. Bruno and Anderson hope it inspires some younger artists to get on their instruments and out of their computers. This is what I grew up on and I love being taken back to this time. My kids love it too. Love to see you react to the album. 🐨👏🏻 Great reaction. Bootsie Collins named them and hosts the Show within the album and Baby Face worked on Put on a smile, As all the lives have been on awards shows there are industry present from all eras and they certainly seem to be enjoying themselves by the applause. Both so talented, and the team they surround themselves with. You should also check out the tribute they did for Little Richard at the Grammys where they also performed Leave the door open. That was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It shows where their influence has directed them. They make this fresh and with of what we can see and hear from the past, and they're having a lot of fun in the process.

So happy young people appreciate the sound of yesteryear. The 70’s was everything. I’m in my 50’s now and remember watching Soul Train. The bell bottoms and Afros . So happy that Silk Sonic did justice to a era of great music. The summer of 77 I was 12 and my fav group was KC and the Sunshine Band if you have never heard any of their music you should give a listen but if so you can see why they were my favorite.
    Great reaction guys.

I’m from that era & this is off the hook, like some have been saying, old school wit a fresh twist. What I hope it inspires is younger people to appreciate & explore not only the era & style, but to also appreciate real music with structure & instruments, & to desire &strive to develop ability & skill on real instruments, not lookin for shortcuts to ‘makin beats’ to sell.

Was waiting for you to react to the 2021 BEST ALBUM. Best album of the decade as far as I am concerned. They resetting the clock. Bringing back the REAL thing. REAL musicians, GREAT musicians making, performing REAL music, GREAT music. Thank God for Bruno Mars, for Anderson Paak, for Bootsy Collins, for D'Mile, for Thundercat, for Baby Face, for every single musician, back up singer, producer, engineer, every single person who has been part of this project. They are saving the craft, showing a whole generation what the art is really about and how it should be done. Also just the fact that they are even better live is a mark of true greatness! Thank God, true artistry, true passion still exists! Hope this will be the trend.

    • @ScottGreenMusic
      @ScottGreenMusic 2 года назад +1

Anderson's drumming drives the whole album forward, but he also understands how to lay back when necessary. You can't teach that. Bruno's guitarwork is damn good, especially the lead on "Blast Off," which gives me the chills AND the feels. The rest of the instrumentation is obviously top-notch as well. Oh yeah, and the production is stellar. The only problem with the record is that it's too short. haha
Agreed on them being better live, somehow. The fact that they rotate in alternate versions of the songs (like at the AMA's) is even cooler.

I recently got into Bruno's stuff (I wasn't a fan before but still fully aware of what he is capable of doing) ever since I heard "Leave the door open". That songs is on repeat for weeks now. Probably since last year December. Then I fell for "Smokin' out the window". (Not gonna lie, one of the two dancers in the mv and in this live performace you reacted reminds me of Alfredo. He popped in my kind automatically.) Then recently, I'm jammimg to "Skate". Ofcourse, I went back to check his older stuff as well. I don't remember what got me searching for Bruno Mars' stuff. I binge watch a lot of old songs. Not like old old but like in the early 2000 up until 2014 maybe. And also because I remember 127 are huge fans of Bruno plus you guys especially alfredo.
I hope to see you guys react to more Bruno stuff as well even though copyright might get in the way of making us see it on youtube. I wish I could join your live reactions but I'm also a fully grown adult that works....a lot. So, yeah. Also, I listened to all the track songs of the album and love each one. It brings me back time because my mom is a music lover. So, I'm exposed to many genres back in the day that is.
