Another thing I didn’t mention is that the shape of the head is slightly longer on the KO and the official figure doesn’t come with a matrix

My ko tabs in perfect and my tolerance in the joints is tight backpack shoulder excellent has better ground clearance than the original better figure.

@@ChdP134 that’s true. I just like how such a smaller version can pull so many things that the masterpiece can. It’s impressive. But yes the masterpiece has better quality…but all the masterpiece prices…I think I’ll stick with the mainline …

ngl i kinda dig the matte finish, and the desaturated colors, though it doesnt fit in some places like the head.
Back in the day (5-10 years ago) KOs were just straight up reproductions that were almost indistinguishable from the real thing, including the box. That's the era this comes from.
Only more recently do we get KOs like RT-01 Arcee and TH-01 Skyfire that have their own branding, missing factions logos, minor alterations, etc.
I miss the old days. Getting uncompromised figures without Takara's ridiculous mark up was the best

I have the official Takara version of Hot Rodimus and the joints and tabs on mine work just fine, but I've only transformed it 2-3 times and it just sits on a shelf for looks. Plus the official version did not come with a Matrix of Leadership. Takara just expected you to use the one that came with MP-10, that way it would be more screen accurate, lol.

Heh, as if these Takara bootlegs were surprisingly new or something. They been around for a good while, long before a lot of 3rd party companies were around and accused of being bootleggers themselves. I got this KO btw, Great piece! Solid figure, fair QC for a KO and clean paint apps. Even came with a diecast Matrix that the original Takara version didn't have.
I got the ss version in 2021 and it was the best thing I got that year
What if question: What if Transformers Masterpiece Bootleg was actually made by Takara Tomy but with lower quality and cheaper price?
The whole reason I got this masterpiece figure is because of the fishing rod lol. I have him sitting on the edge of my shelf fishing.

It would have been more helpful to compare the bootleg to an authentic one. Showing the two together and not just talking about it.
I own a KO and it’s beautifully done/crafted…same with “MP Tracks”. My Hot Rodimus came with everything, minus the Matrix
The visor on mine broke the last time I repositioned him to recreate the the scene where he started shooting because “Hot Rod look, there’s a hole in the shuttle!” “WHAT, Decepticons!”
I once got a KO MP Exhaust for like, $40 I think? and hes really good. only issue I have with him is the left shoulder absolutely refuses to stay in place for no reason most of the time. in all honesty though, I'd rather buy a KO because they're cheaper and usually they of similar quality, if not on par with the official one
I have a ko mp wheel jack with similar problem to yours have you found a way to fix it?

Yesterday I got that bootleg. It has the exact same problems as yours, but to make it worse, the tab at the nape that holds the backpack in was broken. the plastic is very weak and cheap, but in the end you end up thanking a figure like this at that price, I say this more than anything because I simply don't have all the money I would like to have an original mp 28.
I have this because I couldn't find an official mp for an affordable price I didn't get a bad copy mostly besides the arms being a little loose but can tighten it up
I hope the next review is the KO Bumblebee movie Optimus Prime, Because That figure is such amazing

You're wrong, the box is actually is from original mp-28, print is bas because its god damn old and they used different way to print, Hot Rod himself is actually from Takasa Tony
One massive difference between the KO and the legit MP28 is a vehicle mode exclusive: the wheels on the KO sit just a bit lower, allowing it the ground clearance needed to roll properly. The legit MP28 (and MP40) can't do that, as in, it sucks at rolling.
Speaking of MP40 Targetmaster Hot Rodimus, I thought I had ordered a KO of it. *NOPE!!* Turns out that what I got was actually a Hasbro Asia release: it's the Takara stuff with an information sticker (in Chinese) slapped on the box somewhere (my Targetmaster Hot Rod has it on the back of the box, my MP18 Streak has it on the bottom, y'know, somewhere sensible!!). It's also got an additional copy of the instruction sheet that replaces the Japanese & English with Chinese. And I think that there's also an additional copy of the collector card that also replaces the Japanese & English with Chinese, but I don't particularly remember. But the fact that they can be had for KO prices is nuts. As a side note, I got Hot Rod from TF-Direct, and I got Bluestreak from eBay.

Oh yea! That’s an awesome copy. I love fakes because they try so hard to be something they’re not. How much would this particular one run and on average how much do fakes run in relation to officials?

I got this for Christmas and i got scammed I thought it was real until I opened it and saw the matrix, should have read the eBay listing better but I’ve tightened up the arms and legs and I enjoy it a lot but I paid too much

I just felt like I needed to say it somewhere cause I’ve been hearing soooooo many people make that mistake lately and it’s been standing out in my mind even more. In Japan, he was called "Hot Rodimus" (in the 2000's reissues) and "Rodimus Convoy" respectively.

I mean, if it's Wei Jang, they are decent. I have the Wei Jang mp prowl, and it feels identical to my official mp wheeljack. But ko's are a major gamble so it's luck of the draw I guess.

It all goes back to buying what you like. I’m a transformer fan on a budget …. If it’s in my price range and IF I LIKE IT IM BUYING IT !!!!! Until Hasbro partners us as transformers fans we have no allegiance to them and while it would be nice in a perfect world not all of us have 200 to 400 dollars to blow on legit mps so if you can find one that’s affordable and identical to the legit version it’s damn near a crime not to buy .

This product is what's known legally as a "counterfeit", which is legally distinct from most knockoffs (which, are in fact, actually legal, unless the rights holder of the original product takes lega action).
